      Happy Daddy Homestead haha we totally understand. Sometimes it feels like everyone’s bus conversion just comes together. Many days are a flat out struggle bus over here! We’re just trying not to make the same mistakes over again! 🤪

    Have you had any icing issues? After two months on my skoolie project I started having icing issues. Part of my problem was the airflow through the same ADB you have. With it off, everything worked beautifully and cooled the space MUCH better. I removed the ADB and replaced with FACT11CA-PS. HUGE improvement.

    Now that you've had the AC unit for a while, any tips or tweaks you'd recommend for installation? I'm getting ready to put in the same model.

    If there were not frustrations like having to fish the wire again then the victory wouldn't feel as sweet! Well done. COOL video guys! Long and well may it run. What did you use to create a water tight seal on the roof?

    • @TaleOfTwoSmittys
      @TaleOfTwoSmittys  4 года назад +1

      AllMoMoMostHome Bus what’s a water tight seal on a curved roof? 😂🤣 we used OSI Quad Clear Max sealant around the screws and around the hole under the unit. Eventually, we are going to fully silicone the roof using Henry’s Tropicool, and we will be using something else to create a flashing up against the A/C unit. Maybe like a FlexTape or something. Waiting until any and all holes are finished being cut in the roof. Still considering a MaxxAir fan!

      @allmomomosthomebus3895 4 года назад +1

      @@TaleOfTwoSmittys maybe a layer of butyl tape under the unit would hedge the bet on leaks? It's a definite challenge that we're dealing with a curved roof!

    Rory & Kerrie here from Australia, would you mind sharing how much it cost for the AC Unit and why you didn't opt for a split system.

      Hey guys, thanks for watching! Great question: I (Cody) preferred the rooftop unit rather than mounting a compressor somewhere, but the main reason is that the bus has a rear A/C unit on the back wall. That’s the only spot we’ve really seen anyone put a mini split, and it’s not an option for us. The Furrion Chill was around $800 US.

    how well does the ac work? Are you using from solar or shore power? Thanks! Great video!

    • @TaleOfTwoSmittys
      @TaleOfTwoSmittys  3 года назад

      A/C works well off of shore power, which was the intention. The inverter can’t handle the pull when it’s 100* out and it kicks on. Pulls too much power.

    • @chocolatebayouworshipcente2250
      @chocolatebayouworshipcente2250 3 года назад +1

      @@TaleOfTwoSmittys which inverter are you using that can’t handle unit? I’m looking to put that same furion unit in my bus, but plan to run it off a 4K pure sine inverter.

    • @TaleOfTwoSmittys
      @TaleOfTwoSmittys  3 года назад +1

      It’s the Victron Multiplus 3000. It can handle it, typically; but when it’s really hot or directly in the sun, it’s pulling too much power. Especially if you try to run it on high.

    How are the windows when it comes to holding a/c or heat? I’d imagine they leak pretty bad

    • @TaleOfTwoSmittys
      @TaleOfTwoSmittys  4 года назад

      Yeah, bus windows are notoriously bad insulators, although our particular windows (from an Arizona bus) are thermal pane and have a decent tint on them, both of which help a bunch. We do plan to invest in thermal window covers at some point.
