Doktor Play Thank you! Micro Q is great, because you don’t need hardware effect for Space sound! I’m glad you enjoy this piece. I will upload the Martian Chronicles 2 soon. I already posted it but deleted 1 year ago. Different genre, but Micro Q. 🙂
dan melley Thank you! Yes, It’s just factory presets. Thats it. I’m not good in sound design. And I didn’t use hardware effects, pedals, etc, because i love these factory pads so much. ;-)
sounds great :) while my blofeld also sounds good, both the q and micro q sound much better from what i've heard! the blo seems to have a more muffled quality to it in the mids and lows, and the highs are a little bit more harsh, whereas in your piece here they sound nice and sweet :)
The Q has very nice sounding oscillators I think. And the high end sounds ridiculously good for a 1999 digital VA synth. Clear as glass but silky and aliasing free. That said I miss the Blofeld for the filter drive curves and wavetables a lot. It has some peculiar textures, plus the interface is funnily nice for being so restraint.
This song is amazing. I've always admired the sort of randomness and flow of this type of music. Any tips on composing or arrangement? I'm new to make ambient-style music, and stepping away from synthwave which is a lot more formulaic.
I recorded the tracks step by step, one by one. It’s a multi track. I think it’s impossible to record this song in live mode with this synthesizer. I had approximately 15 tracks altogether.
@@maxschnitz Ok, I guess it all depends on if the number of voices are enough to play it all simultaneously. Is it 25 or expanded to 75? Can each instrument have their own effects or do you have to pick a few for all parts like on the Blofeld?
@@FredF78 Unfortunately i sold my Micro Q and i had the yellow one, so i think it’s not the expanded version. Later i bought the blue one. I didn’t use internal effects. For this song i used only the effetct plugins of Ableton.
@@maxschnitz ok, the colors are only cosmetic or do they differ in voices? I wonder if the voice expansion is common on the market, I have just bought the yellow one. Only 25 voices I think.
You used the 100% of the capacities of the MicroQ for doing this amazing composition! Congratulations!
@@fulge0903 Thank you!

Absolutely Amazing composition! And Great sound of Waldorf!
Don Cousteau i’m glad you enjoy it!

That bass sound! Is that your patch or one from Waldorf? It's fantastic.
Doug Elick Thank you! I’m glad you enjoy it! All sounds are factory presets. :-)
Yes, this deep delayed brass sound is very catchy 😊.
Sounds so complex and futuristic!
Thanks for listening! I’m glad you like it!
Woooooo! This blowin my speakers 🔥
That is amazing. Good work. Also amazed that this is just presets. Somebody did some excellent programming and you've picked it up and run with it.

Wow! Just...wow! I have been wasting my mQ.
mmm impressive! you make me want to hook back my "all buttons are dead" 100 euro mQ and perform some CC assignment.
pigo & pogo malescy Haha! :-) Thanks for listening! ;-)
Great performance! All effects are from Waldorf Micro Q as well?
Thank you very much! I made this song in Ableton, it’s a multi track, and i used the effects of Ableton.
MicroQ is insane if you know how to use it like here...

Hi Max, great demo!
Have you used a software editor? Or did you edit using the synth knobs?
I didn’t use software editor for this song. I used only the knobs.
@@maxschnitz sold it because of the knobs, you have some patience !
Is this a multi mode live recording or multiple takes one sound at the time?
I recorded the tracks step by step, one by one. It’s a multi track. I think it’s impossible to record this song in live mode with this synthesizer. I had approximately 15 tracks altogether.

@@FredF78 Somebody told me, that the blue one has better DSP and sounds better. But i don’t think so. I didn’t hear any different.
Was all of Breathing Textures made with just the Micro Q?
Exactly! It’s only Micro Q, nothing else!
Homage to Ray Bradbury?
Great performance!
Have you edited the presets, or are they original?
Presets are originals... Factory sound bank of Micro Q.
Yes, it is. 😉
Thank you! 😉
@@maxschnitz GREAT!
Cuz I may get a Micro Q soon...:)
hello,
can I ask which reverb effect do you use? Is it effect from microq directly?
best regards
real john hi! i only used ping-pong delay and reverbe plug-in in Ableton! The Micro Q has the best sound for pads ever!
Hello,
I have also microq. Can we exchange presets? I have also made some cool presets in q-edit.
bye
real john yes, you can download the soundset from Waldorf's website.
You have not made these presets?
real john not every presets.

Great!
Have u used only the Micro Q?
G.O. Dahlie Yes, all sound came out from Micro Q! Added digital delay and reverb in Ableton 9 Live Suite. No external effects or other synths!!!
