    💯 some don’t really understand that some people with good voices aren’t always good singers,while others with mediocre voices can really sing and overcome their lack of talent with their skill.

      nah people with good voices but no talent exist too, anyway you need to put in the work in both cases

    People are ignorant. I was born with talent of singing and if it wasn't for my current vocal coach I would have lost my singing voice due to bad technique. It's much more than talent. Thank you for this video!

    Wonderful perspective on this, Eric. As someone who is just starting to learn to sing, this is both informative and inspirational

    Let me tell y’all, something, my best friend went from not being able to sing to “singing singing”… if I didn’t hear him singing the first time he tried to sing to some girls, I wouldn’t believe that it was the same person. You can absolutely learn how to sing. He’s a perfect example.

    The back thing you described sounds like what my teacher calls torso anchoring. It was a huge component for getting my voice to work well especially with belting but also with thin vocal folds.

    Some people learn quicker than others, it’s just the way of the world. But it’s also about knowing your own voice and what songs you sound good singing. It’s my belief that every one has at least one karaoke tune they can knock out. Practice is important yes, but so are instincts. I think it’s the combination of raw talent, technical training and emotional connection that really makes a truly exceptional singer, the likes of Donny Hathaway, Jeff Buckley, Whitney Houston, Mariah Carey.

    Too Legit as usual E. Maybe having an ear for music and the love for it is a must, but anatomically with the desire and the help of a seasoned passionate pro like yourself, the voice can very much evolve to places most people think is just “is” or “isn’t” as you explained. You’re the man, thanks as usual. 🙌🏻💥. NYC Let’s Goooo….! 😎

    Singing is a gift in that every person can sing and benefit from singing. Singing becomes a skill when you take yourself seriously as an artist and get real with what you need to work on and then put those habits into practice.

    Thanks for the encouragement Eric! I've had so many issues over the years with singing but I'm finally seeing some results. When my music starts earning I'll definitely book some lessons with you.

    I have this problem when trying to hit a higher note, I feel like i tighten my throat.

      SAME! I know you didn't ask, but so far I've found 2 singers who help me! Brendan Urie (Panic! At the Disco) & Jack Black (Tenacious D) both sound like they've never once choked on a high note lol. So when I sing along with their songs, then apply that ease to other songs, it helps me relax instead of tightening on high notes! 🎶💜

    Your vibrato sounds so deep like it’s between 2 and 3 semitones. Mines so shallow. Probably only 1 semitone. How can I get a vibrato like yours? Is vibrato size physiological or can it be taught?

    Is it true that people with bigger mouths can sing better?

    • @Aleedis226
      @Aleedis226 Год назад +2

      I would have assumed that it'd be easier to find good resonance with a bigger space to work with? But then my youngest child proved me wrong; With no bigger mouth than the others, he's had the loudest, most resonant vocal power since infancy! 😅
