    18:35 TBN is 15sec cd not 25. This lets you do things in DSR like shield the rot target in the akh afah and yourself for the hallowed wings tank buster unlike the 25 sec cds the other tanks have.

    hate to say it, but the only vs here is PLD and GNB. DRK is in the worst spot its ever been in and WAR just has so much utility and is easy to play imo

    As a DRK main, I honestly would be happy to just have a solid DPS boost and fill that ideal OT role for job identity for the rest of the expansion, with some bigger job identity shakeups next xpac.

      ​@@Zarrakon I mean, from what I've seen, it just doesn't feel like what the people who enjoy have come to feel the job is supposed to be. I'm lucky and grateful PLD still feels mostly the same since the 6.3 rework but I do miss having higher consistent damage over having burst windows.

      With that comment it feels likeyou believe most people were happy with endwalker dark knight when in reality every time new content dark kinght lost some abilitys and now it's just a 1-3 combo job with less stuff to do compared to every other tank.

    I only started playing tank in mid endwalker and love playing paladin. It just feels nice and easy to play since i main monk. I find its skills are easier to use and understand and def make me feel like an actual tank. Confiteor making me feel like agrias /tg cid /fft sword saint is also a very big plus.

    Since I reached Heavensward back in last November, I was a devout DRK one-trick. Now that I have reached the end of Dawntrail, I started picking up the other classes... Man. I never knew just how bad I had it.

      That’s why I don’t like paying attention to the stats, at the end of the day play the tank you think is the coolest. You’ll have a lot more fun I’m still a drk main to this day

    Heart of Corundum can also be given to another player too, its not overly useful but can help healers with melee DPS being hit by close un-announced AoEs, or if the healer dies.
    Had a Healer die on Tower of Zot and was able to keep the Monk and Black Mage alive on Anima at 30% HP due to Monk knowing its toolkit and keeping the BLM alive with it.

      Corundum is super useful imo since its basically SCH's excogitation on a 25 second cooldown that helps out a lot when in a pinch.

    I do like that PLD is very defensively reliable and is still benefiting from its rework in EW - most notably it has some thicc burst in dungeons, but I wanted a bit of a rush from a faster GCD rotation, so I went with GNB this expansion. It isn't so bad, I enjoy popping Great Nebula & Corundrum a lot.
    DRK's rotation is not only easier but is outdated. TBN being net neutral means you can ignore using it outside of busters unless you want to stock an extra edge of shadow before raid burst, carve & spit + abyssal drain are just cds that 'exist' with no synergy to its overall kit, salted earth is random and I wonder why we still have it the way it is, and its defensives are mid except for vigil and living dead I guess. I'm so sick of its 123, but not as sick of it as I am of people that say it's fine, it's mind-numbing to play.

      I play war , pld and gnb also and barring gnb none of the defensives on them ever make me feel like they are a waste of effort to pop , like they won't or can't save me if you use them right, whereas I feel like moon knight saying; Random Bullshit Go!!!! as a drk .

    Cover is one of those things you dont use often, but if you have great battle awareness, you can really save some runs if you know what youre doing

    as a DRK main I have been saying it for since they entered the game, Dark missionary and Hearth of light should be all damage, not just magic

      It's a tad ridiculous that they aren't all damage. It hurts a lot this tier on m1s and m3s where most of the AoE's are Physical. It's just like ok...I'm kinda useless except on these much smaller hitting AoE's...

      At the very least, it should have the feint clause, where it provides half as much mit for other damage. There is little to no reason for a tank’s raidwide mit to not protect properly.

    It very worth nothing that intervention on paladin does not share cool down with Shelton so if you are 100 gauge you can Shelton yourself and a friend which is very strong for dual tank busters or mechanics where you need protection and someone in the background needs spot mitigation

    DRK needs a rework more than the others. I like them having uniqueness (like ogcds) and also similarities (like cooldowns) but if DRK is gonna be magic based, give it something that doesn't overlap with the others.
    E.g lifesteal on gcds, abyssal drain spam, new Esteem mechanic and high ogcd usage
    Right now, if you wanna go fast, you go GNB. If you want sustain, you want WAR

    I used to be a DRK main from HW to EW's MSQ; then switched mains to WAR. The HP sustain of DRK really is sad nowadays.
    I remember it was actually pretty good back in SB before the rework in ShB.
    DRK might need another (but smaller?) rework to keep their sustain in line with the other tanks.

      Abyssal Drain was on the GCD back then, and it was the GOAT healing ability so long as you were good at keeping Darkside up.
      In my opinion, they should just make it a gcd attack again that costs MP to use.

    another thing about WAR that i think also pushes it slightly to the top is that while it's damage is overall lower than the others on average, it's also very consistent since most of their burst is auto direct crits, and they feed off of BRD/DRG/SCH raid buffs better than most jobs, and the only skill that really has any crit RNG tied to it (in their burst phase) is Primal Wrath. It doesn't have to worry about crit RNG on high potency skills like GNB and PLD do which makes it even easier to get good results with. IMO that's a decent plus to have, on top of having the good sustain *and* Shake working on everything *and* Holmgang in general.

      Having no crit variance in a game where 5-10% of your damage is tied to crit isnt a good thing. A PLD, DRK, or GNB who doesnt crit still does more than a war so war is just consistently at the bottom. Holmgang is only as good as it is because WAR is lacking personal mitigation by a LOT

      I really really need Double Down to auto crit. It'd be nice(r) if the LH combo did, or obviously if BOTH do, but it feels so, sooo, so much worse if DD doesnt crit due to taking up tangible resources. Lionheart doesnt actually drain charges, which means its not using a resource i could be putting on Renzokuken, so Double Down not critting is more like two entire Renzokukens, twelve hits in total, and not a single one of them critting. Its such a bad feeling

      ​@@Zephyrnull not every tank needs to do high dps for it to be good, and it's self healing and buff to vengeance and blood whetting keep it topped up in all content when timed properly so idk what else you need a warrior to make it have better mit, do you want a raid wide dmg mit?

      @@worse9347 WAR needs a buffed intervention from PLD just to still have less total mitigation than PLD. It's self heal is also just worse because its not on demand and they cant mitigate autos because of their already extremely lacking mitigation tools and bosses quite literally just dont hit hard enough for bloodwhetting to be more useful than Sheltron. Vengeance having a HoT is useless because youre using vengeance on B U S T E R S, not healing so you want more mit.

      @@Zephyrnull hmm I see where you are coming from but warriors whole gimmick is healing rather than mitigating and has been that way since HW with the ability blood whetting turns into, I agree pld has more mit but that's also pld's whole gimmick. To have a crap ton of mitigation for a wide variety of situations with confitior combo, holy sheltron, the party mit and clemency all healing from small to a lot as well. They are designed differently for "job identity" and warrior still performs really good in dungeons and good in savage too, never been in an ultimate but I doubt I'd be hard to play there too. So what I'm trying to get at is, as long as it isn't dark knight mitigation shitty then it's fine, for me at least. Maybe next expac give it a dmg reduc plus shield on a low cool down and we are all good still

    That knockback immunity for Warriors as part of that one ability is such a bad design at this point. They really need to go through and fix up all those ancient abilities.

      @@nickeling2776 Totally valid! I think most people tend to not like it because it interrupts the flow of the game because their character doesn't move as they expected. In all other parts, you always prevent knockback with Arms Length, meanwhile here it becomes part of your rotation. You need to be actively aware that your rotation has this brief period of knockback resist, so it increases the mental processing you need to do. (I think? Mostly guessing XD)

      The only time it worked was during Everkeep Ex during the mechanic either the sword lines and fire/wind lines (if it was wind) because the 2 minutes lined up there. Otherwise I cannot think of a moment where it was useful otherwise lol. It would’ve been great if IR lined up with KB mechanics but that would screw over the other tanks if on happened during the 1 or 2 minute burst. Also when are you ever getting stunned, sleep, slowed, or binder in lv 70 or later content? Legit asking cuz I cannot think of a single instance. I think the debuff I see more often that’s not a vuln or damage down is paralysis and IR doesn’t stop that.

      @@SamRocherI mean not really, most of the time I forget it’s even a thing until I actually die cuz of it. The only instances I remember are in DSR with the chains when you have to get knock backed but IR is up there so you have to click off the buff or use a macro, and in M3S if you die before the knock back towers and drift IR, which can lead to the buff not falling off before the knock back and screwing you over. But other than that, not really lol.

    As a long time DRK player, DRK doesn't even have a busy burst anymore. It's just moderately faster during 2s. Truly has nothing going for it right now other than a big sword. If they added short dos burst phases on adds, it would be have that too I guess. But otherwise nothing.

    Small correction/clarification on cover. Damage is calculation as if you take the damage, it uses your defense stat and your cooldowns. It just ignores hallowed ground to prevent cheesing.

    GNB is pretty much just a melee dps with a strict rotation, and tank Mitigations. it can even outdps most dps jobs in dungeon pulls, if played right. feels like they legit just gave mits to gauge based dps job, and i love it

    Dark Knight is my favorite tank. I love it aesthetic, but there is literally no content in the game where it’s better to bring it. All other tanks are just as good or better in every aspect of every piece of content than the dark Knight. It absolutely needs a rework, or some adjustments. The only way in its current iteration for it to be able to compete in my opinion is to have the highest DPS over all tanks by far. The difference should be similar to Picto and summoner.

    My personal issue with Paladin is the button bloat. I play on a Duel Sense Edge controller and even with the paddles underneath the controller it's still very bloated. Why can't Eclipse transform into Prominence like the Confiteor combos.

    I hadn't played FFXIV as much the last two weeks, before watching this video I was getting excited to play again.
    But as a DRK main getting reminded of its poor state, just kind of dampened that desire real fast...
    Really hope 7.1 has some tweaks for DRK, not just in performance but with how it feels to play...

      Fellow DRK friendo here. What if we utilise our insane Living Dead recovery and make a macro over our invuln button that says something along the lines of "I have a Free 1-Up and want to hit 1 HP. Feel free to Holy hard, healer"
      Makes dungeon runs a lot more fun when you freak everyone out, then immediately get your own Benediction up to full HP.

    Ofc the only xpac I enjoy playing drk is the xpac where it's weakest. I fully recognize it's short comings but something about it just feels nice to play. Perhaps I'm biased having not really been into it since HW but shrug. Here's hoping its magical only quirks get a bit more versatility

    I can say as a main healer, for dungeon then both DRK and GNB sucks, they feel like every hit they take is a tank buster, i spend the entire dungeon healing, where as PLD and WAR then i am just here for maybe 1-2 heal per group, but i of course i might just be super unlucky when getting DRK and GNB

    Makes sense, honestly, all three of the most played tanks are super close and can become the best based on content and any of the smallest changes they might receive, while DRK just sits super far behind the others for the most predictable reasons many of us have been bringing up since ShB and were completely ignored or even told to shut up despite being proven exactly right.
    Like, DRK was my main for a while, I still love it's aesthetic and busy burst window, but it just fucking sucks at so much right now because it's been left behind design wise while all three other tanks have continuously been getting incredible new skills, amazing QoL adjustments, and none of them have stepped backwards at any point since ShB either, once again unlike DRK. So I currently find myself playing all three of the other tanks in equal parts cause they're awesome, but I refuse to bother with DRK until something ACTUALLY changes for them, and after over 4 years of seeing nothing happen to it besides minor or even negative changes, I have no hope for it. I'll continue to be told by a select few that the "uniqueness" of all it's negatives is somehow good for the job and how "it's still top DPS" without the context of it being barely top DPS and only in the 99th percentile, outside of which it's usually the lowest.

    Based on kit and usefulness.
    Order of fun Playing:
    1st GNB
    2nd PLD

    I love DRK, but... yeah, it has issues. The simplification of the rotation, lack of sustain, downgraded MP regen, the more restrictive mitigations, the lackluster capstone ability --- it doesn't feel great.
    I do like the new Delirium combo aesthetic, the combining of BW and Delirium, the removal of damage on the gap closer, and Shadowed Vigil is pretty nice.

    Discussing role actions is actually significant when it comes to the tanks with Dawntrail's addition of a healing received buff on Rampart. It can actually affect the heals, regens and shields associated with cooldowns. So PLD's already incredibly strong Guardian can get an even beefier shield, the heal after hitting under 50% on Heart of Corundum can be even larger, etc. The one skill that notably is NOT beefed up by this mixing of cooldowns is the shield on TBN. It still remains a 25% shield.

    I really disagree with this list but then again, I find Warrior to be a super boring class to play. Same with Dark Knight. Where I actually passed out in a boss fight. Lol yeah that how boring both classes are. Honestly, if Dark Knight was more like other FF version of Dark Knight. Then it would be more fun. Also, I am talking about sacrificing hp for perks. Which would make the tank more for higher skill players.

    Paladin will always and forever be the best tank, you didn't see DRK, GNB, or WAR as the being the warrior of light choice as a job class in the EW trailer and the only one he used because he know how "godly" Paladin is.

    I want to be a good GNB tank, but Paladin just comes with so many ways to survive. I have no problems when I'm a Paladin. When I'm GNB i just can't tell what im doing wrong.

    Dark knight has the least self sustain out of all tanks by a mile, which is a shame. Dark Knight aesthetic is lifetaps and drain tanking, yet it does that the worst out of all the tanks (it’s not even close btw)

    Ok but actually drk's terrible self sustain actually makes them the best tank to heal in dungeons? It's way more fun than spamming my aoe while a warrior sits comfy at full health with bloodwhetting the entire time.

    This is the first one you've done in a while where I'm not sure which you'll pick in what order at the end. If I HAD to guess, I'd say GNB > PLD = WAR >> DRK, but I'm not sure. GNB is a solid "middle of the road" Tank with good overall stuff and the highest damage. WAR is a god in dungeons, but you tend to talk about things from a raider perspective, and PLD's ability to disengage and be a solid off-tank with great party utility and support tools makes me think it could be higher, and while WAR does have the short invuln, this tier you've said doesn't really use that much. DRK then would be back end for all its reasons...though you MIGHT say "but anti-magic is great and it does good damage with downtime fights", but this tier hasn't...had those, and I think most people agree DRK (like WHM) just kinda...needs something.
    So that's my GUESS of how you'd rank them, but I'll see at the end. :D

    Honestly, you need to do a rank split, because of how the tank jobs work.
    For 8 man raid content: GNB >= WAR >= PLD > DRK, because GNB just flat-out does the most damage and has excellent personal mitigation.
    For literally everything else: WAR >>> PLD >>> GNB > DRK because Bloodwhetting and auto-crits for days are so busted. PLD is the clear 2nd place for sustain.

    Edit: I'd probably run WAR+GNB/PLD for anything 8 man just to be able to cheese more mechanics with Holmgang, and use GNB for anything that doesn't have excruciating uptime issues.

    Dark knight actually has the lowest apm of any of the tanks, even warrior hits more buttons per minute than dark knight.
    I wouldn't describe it as "busy" anymore

    Another con with warrior you didnt mention: If youre using Holmgang in a trashpack, and the target dies, the invuln buff goes with it. Its extremely niche, and easily prevented by not having a target when you use Holmgang, but it does happen.

    This pretty much gets the point across of Gunbreaker vs Paladin. Is the boss as big as the arena EW style then Gunbreaker, is it a normal size boss then Paladin. Other tank always Warrior and then Dark Knight has nice glam i guess.....

    I moved from melee for the last 2 expacs to tank this tier. I started with GNB and it was fine, but progging felt a lot more chill on PLD. Now I'm torn, but fortunately tanks actually share gear, even if GNB melds can be weird

    Overall good info and comparison but you forgot a few things about invulns that I think are important:
    - Hallowed Ground/Superbolide do not make you completely invuln against ALL damage, there are certain boss attacks that go through all invulns (most noticeable on Gunbreaker) for example the heads in e8s
    - Hallowed and Bolide have the bonus to often prevent you from being affected by debuffs like damage downs or vuln stacks (but sometimes they are hardcoded and you get them anyway)
    - Holmgang if not used with a macro has another big problem especially when used on trash mobs. If the target you tethered to yourself with it dies during the duration you lose the buff and can die even if those 10s aren't over yet. In dungeons this usually means death since healers can't really anticipate that and you will just die to the next best mobs autoattack.
    PS: love the clips where you solo old ex/savage fights

    One other thing that's nice about Warrior is how consistent it is on the DPS front. Because the vast majority of its burst window is guaranteed to direct crit, you have very low damage variability compared to other classes, assuming identical rotations. And the simple rotation adds to the consistency by making identical rotations much easier to do from pull to pull, compared to something like Gunbreaker.
    You also have the super secret benefit of being less susceptible to the recent DDoS's, because you don't have to weave as much as other jobs. (Dear god make them stop)

    Really hard to bet on GNB/PLD/WAR order. WAR obviously in 1st if you give it MT hero class points but other than that they are all pretty close.

    Regardless of how I feel about Warrior's Regenerating playstyle affecting every other tank, I think DRK could benefit from it the most at this point. Maybe they could lean more into a leech playstyle where every GCD attack they do heals some HP/MP? It would be similar to how SGE is to the healers and the heals would need to be small, but ANY additional sustain would be better by this point. Also, Abyssal Drain/Carve and Split being reduced to about 30s would be a nice bonus.
    Side note, I don't know why SE nerfed DRK MP regen considering it NEEDS as much MP as humanly possible.

      I think I'm vibing the idea of them just giving massive MP regen to DRK so we can just fire off edge of shadows more as a short term fix. A healthy bump in DPS making DRK notably higher damage than the other tanks, slotting it perfectly into the ideal off-tank position would make it feel less like trolling in high end content imo.
      If big sword is my whole job identity, then just make big sword do big numbers.

      Basically the kits are built around the expectation that you will use any damaging gap closers during your burst window so PLD and WAR have less damage in the rest of their kit than they would if they had non-damaging gap closers like DRK and GNB. That means that they'll lose damage compared to their expected if they want to use their gap closer just before or just after their burst window.

I play it because it's fucking hilarious to Wall-to-Wall everything and just RAAAAARRRWWWGGGHHHH!!!!! My HP back up to full every 20 seconds or so. That little enjoyment I get out of just raging around the world smashing the ever loving shit out of mobs is hilarious.

    slight thing on tbn is you said healers dont need to worry about healing due to dark night healing alot during walking dead but something intresting is that the dark night must heal its full hp itself to not die so if your healed to full by healer and cant heal any yourself you will just die at least last time i played the job thats how it worked

      The invuln stays if the healer heals you too early nowadays. But your lifesteal goes away, so if your hp falls back to low after the invuln expires, you could die.

    As a healer playing with these in raids, i dont get the hate for DRK. Their floor in terms of damage is the highest from all the tanks, their peak is the highest and i dont notice having a DRK in raids compared to other tanks. They suck in dungeons, but they are the best tank for the raid tier, which matters more imo.

      In Endwalker, this was very true because almost everything did magic damage. But DRK's weaknesses this raid tier are more apparent because of the amount of physical damage, especially in M3S.
      I suppose if you mainly care about damage and speedkilling, you won't really notice much difference. But if you care about the ease of progression, it's not in a great spot compared to the others. And by people's personal opinions, damage isn't the only metric to measure a job's fun, and playing the job itself feels barebones outside of 2m compared to everyone else.

      The invuln cd isnt a problem and i like it more than holmgang cause i dont need to heal. The raid mit isnt worse than gnb and nobody complains about it. Its just good.

    Before watching: 1. GNB, 2. WAR, 3. PLD, 4. DRK.
    Edit: As a Tank main, I'll disagree with Happy's rankings (1. WAR, 2. PLD, 3. GNB, 4. DRK). While yes, it does come down to personal preference in the end, and I think that both WAR & PLD are more beginner friendly than GNB, I find it that GNB is the overall better job this expansion, they bring a full package without being as bloated as PLD, and they have arguably the same amount of sustainability as WAR. GNB in Dawntrail feels more complete than any of the other tanks, with the only downside is that it might appear to be harder to play (it's not) than the other tank jobs.
    o7 to all DRK mains out there.

    Honestly, DRK needs a complete rework. The job as it is these days is NOTHING like the job when it launched. I feel like DRK lost it's entire job identity in StB and just never recovered. They just keep tuning it to be the highest DPS tank and hoping that will sate the players but it really feels like they gave up on it a long time ago. When DRK launched it was so damn cool, it could self-sustain like WAR can now and it had the most unique gameplay and skill rotation of the tanks. They took all of that away and gave it all to the other tanks. DRK is a shell of it's former self and it breaks my heart.

    If you're a Paladin and do dungeons at all, keep Shield Bash on your bars. While I rarely use it at high levels, it's *fantastic* for recovery (and with all these DDoS attacks lately, healers *do* DC mid-pull), and it can save a lot of time at low levels (if no one else is dealing with a key/winch/door/etc., Shield Bash one enemy and Low Blow the other, then handle the object yourself :P). With a well-thought-out UI, there's *plenty* of space for it.

    Warriors are the worst tanks to run with. When the party wipes except for the warrior and they will take the next 20-30 minutes soloing a boss making everyone wait.
    Warriors need to lose their sustain or at least have them majorly nerfed.

    I maybe alone in this but i have had no issues playing my dark knight in savage content in both OT and MT slots. I actively can keep oblation up pretty well and TBN. Have saved plenty of static members with it. I do really solid dmg on the class and its burst window gets to be busier then the avg tank even if by a little. I think dark mind is the one thing that sticks out as needs some use when no magic dmg is present but the rest of my CD's aren't really that big of an issue. I think it could use some buffs in spots but a rework i don't think it really needs one.

      Just objectively a harder tank to play in terms of optimizing damage and keeping yourself alive thats all. Theres some things that are objectively bad but it's only stuff like dark missionary only being magic dmg mitigation or the salted earth CD still being 90s.

      Drk defensives definitely need a rework. Dark mind and dark missionary could really benefit from the addle treatment. Good against magic but half as effective for physical. Tbn is by far the worst of the tank short cd. Especially against multi hit busters. And if the shield doesn’t break you lose dps. Samurai tengentsu is better than oblation. 10% mit on a tank is terrible. It only has shadowed vigil and LD going for it. And LD while being really good can end up killing you because the healer just healed you through it.

Maybe this is a term that is thrown around like it means nothing but when i here rework that is a fundamental change to the classes approach. Thinks like TBN now is mitigation skill that increases healing received and per heal you get some DR. To me thats what a rework is where you will no longer use TBN even remotely as before. By the way thats just a off top head example not something i am advoavting for.
      But like making salted earth on a lower CD or do more dmg, or even add some idk mit or something thats more of a buff. I am still gonna use it relatively in the same ball park as i do now just more frequently. I am not saying the tank is perfect, far from it but the way people talk about is like its so hard to play, or keep yourself up its really not. I can keep TBN and oblations up on alot of people and it gets more efficient as i learn a fight its quite nice flexability. Is it more to track sure, but i dont think that warrants rework.

      So you think enhanced unmend decreasing your gap closer cd, which effectively does nothing is ok? You think dark missionary not being usable in older ultimates while the other tanks get theirs is ok? You think drk being a wannabe war, but worse is ok? You think pressing one-off ogcds every 2 mins is hard and ok? People like you is drk will never improve. Who cares if drk is serviceable in current content, all tanks are. The job is boring, bland, and frankly uninspired at this point.

    Hi @Mrhappy1227 ! Just FYI, the self healing from Blood Whetting is a full 8 seconds, though you said 6 seconds in your video. So you should get 4 GCDs of self healing. In the section where you talk about BW, you actually were able to get 4 GCDs of self heals from the mobs you were wailing on 🤘
    I would not say WAR has low DPS, people will just run with that statement when that's not exactly true. Currently at 95th percentile, the difference in rDPS when comparing WAR to the other tanks is on average 1.1% lower. The difference between WAR and GNB (highest rDPS) is 350 DPS, which is not all that much. 9 times out of 10 higher DPS numbers is dependent on the player, and 10 times out of 10 a decent WAR will out DPS a mediocre GNB.

    my issue is giving a tank a unique identity that still feels lilke its supposed to be tanky. PLD has the shield, WAR has the barbarian aesthetic and the "heal tank" motif so instead of mitting you just power through. even drk kinda has the a bit of a tanky-ish motif with a large sword and a kind of dark ethereal protection.
    but GNB has NEVER felt like it was supposed to be a tank to me. I'm not talkin about skills. you can give any class enough mitigation or healing and it can kinda of "tank" as it were. im just talking about aesthetic. GNB has always seemed like a dps with mits to me, which yeah i know is the meme because of all of its fast paced rotation, but i mean even from a identity standpoint. it's class gear is all coats, with little to no pieces that look like armor. it doesnt carry a shield or even a large weapon comparatively. and even the skills dont make sense appearance wise. you shoot bullet and it shields you? like where is the defensive capability COMING from outside of skill you could just make up for any class?
    it just feels like GNB was forced to be a tank cause it was tank's turn on the new class wheel at the time. "we cant release another melee dps cause we just released SAM.... eeh release it anyway but give it some pretty animations, call them mitigation and make it a tank"
    ive always thought GNB should be a melee dps while SAM should have more traditional shogun looking armor and be a tank instead. theres even other pieces of media that feature a fictional mmo with samurai as a tanking role like Log Horizon.
    i say all this cause i feel like identity is more important for tank than other roles in their ranking

    Honestly with Gunbreaker Gap closer feels stupid now, especially as a GNB main in Tanking, as before it made sense to me why you couldn't use the skill outside if combat because it did damage and the skill was satisfying as when used you will fly across like a spinning blade and smack the enemy with a nice sound that was just sooo good!
    But now it's just Fwoosh and I get why because then it can be used as a utility move however I still can't use it outside of battle like other movement skills from other jobs.
    The Gap closer does no damage, why do I still either need to be in battle or locked onto a enemy to use the damn skill!!
    It doesn't do damage Square Enix if you want me to fwoosh then let me Fwoosh outside of combat and freely dammit!!!

    Imo Warrior is best as dungeon tank and MT in raids, Paladin is best OT.
