Bought the iPhone X on launch day on a drizzly November day of 2017, it's been 2 1/2 years since and my man... was the best choice ever. This thing is still rolling, maybe the 12 or OnePlus 9(if it kept the 7T's style) will be the first small temptation for an ugprade, there just isn't a phone on the market that exists making me want to replace this one.

You have pseudo-flagships like the OnePlus devices, the Essential Phone, and other third-party manufacturers getting great performance at lower and lower price points when they should be at least $600 with all the features they pack in. Apple is still overpriced, but their older phones aren't obsolete. Bottom line, yes, good phones are getting cheap, and not to mention, cheap phones are getting good.
Apple don't like to fix any of their products, they just replace it with another refurbished one or a full new replacement. Thats why the cost is so high.

This strategy makes sense in a vacuum (e.g. Tesla did this, making a premium product at a high price) but other people are also somehow making good products for a fraction of the price, and they're doing it by assuming that a LOT of people will buy them. Yeah, they make less on each phone, but they make up for it by selling twice as many individual phones because way more people can justify spending 500 on a phone than 1k.

They leveraged on technologies that have not been used on any smartphones, rumours said that for every 4 or 5 iPhone X assembled, there were only 1 or 2 usable ones! That means, if you included the R&D expenses to get that product out in the market, the iPhone X is more reasonably priced than iPhone 8 or 8+! No R&D, but still an increase in price every year.

I’ve had my iPhone X for about a year, year, and a half now, and I gotta say. I love it. He was right about the face scanner, that it unlocks but you still have to swipe up, but besides that, I honestly love it. That’s just me though.
I went back to apple as i found them to a reliable and simple user experience. Might be way to expensive for what they are but they at least provide more software updates over longer periods than android. How long does it take Samsung to deliver major updates once your $1000 dollar Galaxy Note or $700 Galaxy phones get to over 1 years of age? I would look at android again if this ever get fixed.

ascelot I agree, iPhones are completely fluid and consistent software wise throughout every iPhone, and unlike Samsung's they don't slow down after a week.
In retrospect you can see why the X was a $1000 phone back then. Because of longevity. It's now the only phone here that still supports latest official OS updates, not just security updates. And it would probably still get supported for another 2-3 years. Even checking today's benchmarks, the phones here are nowhere close to X's performance.
I'd get a One Plus 5T and go on a vacation! But if I did win, I'd still pick the iPhone X because I know I can resell it at a much higher price and get a much better phone lel.

with the extra 500€ i'd go for 2 weekends in Amsterdam for x-mas or save it and go for 1 week in some island in Greece at spring/summer and guess what; I'll make memories that wont lose their value with time ;)

i don’t know i really love iphone x yeah that whole face scanning is annoying and yeah it does miss more often than fingerprint would however it is still cool, the photos are MAGICAL the camera is from another planet, i like that is waterproof i can take too the pool, it is also very resistant to falling, the only complain i have is its weight it feels a little heavy but other than that it is a great iphone which i recommend you buy it and it is worth 999$ which apple charges for it

@@ahmadmomani4025 I’d say go for it if you haven’t still. It’s an awesome phone and one of the last phones to have 3D Touch. The display is amazing (OLED) and still looks good even today. Cameras are a hit and miss though. Smartphone cameras have evolved a lot since iPhone X came out. But you’ll still get good quality pictures regardless. Also, Apple’s processors have been very good and the phone has not slowed down even today. Even today it doesn’t lag at all unlike the Android phones of that time. And it will be supported with software for another 2-3 years

I've been using Apple for over a decade, buying iPhone after iPhone like I was conditioned by Apple to do so. But I recently had a terrible customer service issue where I sent in my perfectly fine iPhone 7 to their repair center because of the failing logic board and the "No Service" issue it is well known for, and was told that their technician found some 3rd party parts in my phone which has never seen any repair service since the day I purchased and activated it. I'm no longer an Apple sheep. I've been shopping around for an Android phone and have been watching your videos extensively for a new phone purchase. I don't have the highest phone budget out there, but I'm willing to spend less money for bigger performance, and I was never aware of the fact that there are better performing phones for half the price until Apple screwed me. Thanks for all the videos you're putting out there. It is really helping someone like me out with making that big leap from iOS to Android.
Welcome to the real world buddy. You could go for a mid range (which i personally think is already a high end) oneplus 6.. Or wait for the oneplus 6t.. But i could also recommend you the pocophone f1. Check that one out because it's a total steal for the money you are paying for if you are into performance and can look over the polycarbonate back (which is more durable than glass btw), no NFC, and 540p for netflix.

Apple is still overpriced, but their older phones aren't obsolete. Bottom line, yes, good phones are getting cheap, and not to mention, cheap phones are getting good.

Yeah, they make less on each phone, but they make up for it by selling twice as many individual phones because way more people can justify spending 500 on a phone than 1k.

They leveraged on technologies that have not been used on any smartphones, rumours said that for every 4 or 5 iPhone X assembled, there were only 1 or 2 usable ones! That means, if you included the R&D expenses to get that product out in the market, the iPhone X is more reasonably priced than iPhone 8 or 8+! No R&D, but still an increase in price every year.

I went back to apple as i found them to a reliable and simple user experience. Might be way to expensive for what they are but they at least provide more software updates over longer periods than android. How long does it take Samsung to deliver major updates once your $1000 dollar Galaxy Note or $700 Galaxy phones get to over 1 years of age? I would look at android again if this ever get fixed.

ascelot I agree, iPhones are completely fluid and consistent software wise throughout every iPhone, and unlike Samsung's they don't slow down after a week.
In retrospect you can see why the X was a $1000 phone back then. Because of longevity. It's now the only phone here that still supports latest official OS updates, not just security updates. And it would probably still get supported for another 2-3 years. Even checking today's benchmarks, the phones here are nowhere close to X's performance.

i don’t know i really love iphone x yeah that whole face scanning is annoying and yeah it does miss more often than fingerprint would however it is still cool, the photos are MAGICAL the camera is from another planet, i like that is waterproof i can take too the pool, it is also very resistant to falling, the only complain i have is its weight it feels a little heavy but other than that it is a great iphone which i recommend you buy it and it is worth 999$ which apple charges for it

@@ahmadmomani4025 I’d say go for it if you haven’t still. It’s an awesome phone and one of the last phones to have 3D Touch. The display is amazing (OLED) and still looks good even today. Cameras are a hit and miss though. Smartphone cameras have evolved a lot since iPhone X came out. But you’ll still get good quality pictures regardless. Also, Apple’s processors have been very good and the phone has not slowed down even today. Even today it doesn’t lag at all unlike the Android phones of that time. And it will be supported with software for another 2-3 years
My favorite thing about face recognition. My kidnappers don't need to ask for my passcode, and leave my face bruise-less so it can scan my face correctly.

I've been using Apple for over a decade, buying iPhone after iPhone like I was conditioned by Apple to do so. But I recently had a terrible customer service issue where I sent in my perfectly fine iPhone 7 to their repair center because of the failing logic board and the "No Service" issue it is well known for, and was told that their technician found some 3rd party parts in my phone which has never seen any repair service since the day I purchased and activated it.

I don't have the highest phone budget out there, but I'm willing to spend less money for bigger performance, and I was never aware of the fact that there are better performing phones for half the price until Apple screwed me.
Thanks for all the videos you're putting out there. It is really helping someone like me out with making that big leap from iOS to Android.
What's your budget on a phone right now? The OnePlus line is a good option, as is Xiaomi's Pocophone F1.

Welcome to the real world buddy. You could go for a mid range (which i personally think is already a high end) oneplus 6.. Or wait for the oneplus 6t.. But i could also recommend you the pocophone f1. Check that one out because it's a total steal for the money you are paying for if you are into performance and can look over the polycarbonate back (which is more durable than glass btw), no NFC, and 540p for netflix.

It’s funny how people find it easy to roast apple for their products, like the X, yet almost everyone either gets the newest phone or wishes it. Hmm
