Just a few corrections ladies and gentlemen, One UI is not in Beta anymore. I pre-recorded my face a few weeks back when One UI was still in beta. Forgot to remove that small part from the video, sorry about. Also, some people are saying they can access Google Assistant with the new gesture navbar. I'm currently using XDA's T-Mobile One UI beta and I couldn't get it to work. But if you're running the official Samsung One UI then it most likely will work. Just try swiping up and holding. Sorry about that folks. Hope you liked the video still. :)
You listed S8 and S9.... Is there a link for Note 9?
Does s8 orea version get the ONE UI also?
Just wanted to add that I enrolled in the Samsung OneUI beta on my TMobile S9+ and as of the latest update I'm currently able to invoke Google Assistant by holding up on the home gesture.
I can't speak of flashing the TMobile XDA beta images as I did it the official way.
@@aldenjoel2556 One UI is built on Android Pie, so if you can get One UI it won't be Oreo.
If you swipe up and hold from the home gesture it starts Google assistant
Samsung is really stepping up there game now, the one ui is pretty neat looking.
It's actually getting hard to justify plain old Pixel Android at this point.
@@Mister_Jay_Tee stock android is a boo boo atm
Kunal looks cartoonish imo.
@@dnghn.design I've used multiple phones with stock Android and after some time, it feels boring. Idk why stock Android is considered good these days.
@ohYEAHYEAHYEAH oh oh YEA IN YEAH YEAH Well, not everyone has 2 digit IQ so I guess some of us can handle a UI other than the stock one.

Ikr, I had the same reaction lmfao
It doesnt do anything

This dark mode feels like it's added 30% to my battery life... :D
Yeah using black stuff utilises less battery
using Samsung Dark mode then open unsupported dark mode apps sigh...
there's substratum and swift black for you
@@nootics on my phone every time i apply a theme nothing change

Razgriz If in Facebooks messenger is it annoying having black keyboard when chat background white anyways...
it'll come in future updates
@@MohammadAli-iz9ld did you activate it with your pc and stuff?
YAY Dark Mode ❤️!!!
Oreo already had dark mode with swift.
i'd prefer the black mode, even though the dark mode is good enough and not gonna hurt our eye on bed at night
@@haq44 Yeah but night mode is integrated now. Don't have to install anything
Dark mode you have on all s8 and s8+ from 2017...
@@socialLjetlag That's why I say integrated, it's possible in of itself.
A lot of important info in just over 5 min. A very good and compact review, just the way i like it! Great work!
The best informative video regarding one UI. All others are just barking here and there but not anything on the point while this guy explained everything in an awesome way.
Fantastic update. I've been wanting a large screen-friendly update like this for years
Are 85 years old
I always like RUclipsrs who leave wallpapers links😍😍
This update is greeeat really. Its muuuch more simple... specially on the camera modes... there was almost 10 modes ahah now there is just 3 and i think they do the same. Dark mode is the best thing ever. There is no more Game Modes or Movies modes but those modes didnt do much really.
Nice one Samsung ! Very nice to be ur client😁
Credits to this awesome presenter! Clear and precise review, great editing as well!
I switched from an iPhone 7 Plus to s9 plus and I hated it and wanted to switch back to an iPhone asap but, as soon as I updated my phone to one UI, my experience changed and decided I’ll hold on to my phone.
precious jose why not just get an iPhone X since you basically updated for the gestures

@@slighce i got the note 9 just gonna throw this out there

Was just about to say the same thing, but he corrected himself in the comments
Doesn't work for me when I do that my Samsung pay is poppin up
@@the_batmobile0.4 I think we can assign actions on gestures. Check out in settings.
This feature seems to be buggy for some. It should work but really doesnt for everyone - have 3 samsung phones here, works on 2 not on the last ^^
I tried that when I 1st got the update, but it doesnt work. I already had Google Assistant before Pie so It should work, but it refuses to. The edges of the screen light up when I use that gesture for less than half a sec, then it fails and nothing happens. And I dont wanna have to download the Google Assistant app and waste space on my phone if my phone already has it as standard somewhere
Ya know..this is useful, cuz I tend to use one hand a lot 😏😉

Great chanel bro
His videos have always been clean and concise I love it
Real subtle Mr "content creator", real subtle.
At least they added dark mode. Nice video by the way 👍🏻👍🏻
Awesome video! I had all of my doubts cleared right here
I have a few complaints about the One UI...
1.) They made the split screen mode annoying to use and it's not as fluid as before.
2.) I miss the list view for recent apps.
3.) I miss dragging the volume up and down in certain apps like RUclips. I hate the fact that I'm limited to using the physical volume buttons.
3) I agree, but also is nice when you set volume up or down and the alert dialog disappears quickly so you can continue watching the video
Agreed.
I would undo the update if I only could.
No mine is still awesome
Trade all of that for DARK MODE 😂
I number 2 I think goodlock give you that feature
The S9 with One UI is what the Palm Pre should have been. Gestures, wireless charging, dark themes. Web OS interface was a ahead of its time.
After this update on my S8+ it feels like my phone is brand new now. Like I just got a next generation Samsung rocking stock android. Multi-tasking and switching between apps is easier and a lot snappier than before. It also overall just feels much more smooth, keeping in mind that it was already impressively smooth, even out of the box 2 years ago.
is there a video on how to update on samsung s8+ anywhere ?
I am speechless. No lag. Clutter neat UI, amazing all around
nice video
quick and informative
no time wasted unlike other channels
thats why i m subscribing
Keep it up
For the S9's you can use Google Assistant.
It just uses the 3D touch so you have to press harder on the button and if you don't swipe up and hold.
One hard press if you don't hold will go to the home screen without swiping as well.
Also what is even better with the darkmode is that you can automatically switch it on or off depending on time just like the blue filter.
One thing I am missing is that I can't seem to find or activate "one handed mode" anymore which is a bummer.
Some apps are still very clunky so having that feature was great on large screens.
You can use Google assistant with the gestures, you have to swipe up alittle and hold it and it should react :)
At first I didn't like One UI but been experiencing it for 2 weeks and I'm starting to love it. It grew on me.
Awesome, I just love it, waiting for my carrier to release it
Omg it's Samsung Galaxy ULTRA INSTINCT
Yes i am ! 😂👌🏻
You CAN use Google assistant with the new gestures. Just swipe up on the middle bar and hold it just like you would with the traditional home button and the Google assistant will appear.
Or just remap the Bixby button 👍
By any chance, do know how to switch from apps to apps with the BACK button? I have done it like 10 times by mistake, but when I wanted to do it on purpose, I can't :/
@@valentinavillanueva1480 Yeah, its not with the back button. Its with the Recent Apps Button (The button on the opposite side of the back button). You simply double tap it and it switches between the last two recent apps you were using. Enjoy :)
@@paulwehbe5440 thank you for the advice but nope, It doesn't work on mine because I don't even have the gesture hints on, just the full screen gestures :(
@@valentinavillanueva1480 Oh yeah it doesnt work when in full screen gestures. You either need to have the navigation buttons and double tap the recent key to switch apps, or, you need to have navigation gestures with the hints on so that you can swipe from the home bar to the right (while holding and swiping and letting go when you reach the app you want to use) to switch between apps. I hope this helps :)
love the video!! this is very helpful as im a iphone user whos just got the new samsung s10
Very nice video! I'm happy that I'm still gonna be able to use substratum themes with the update.
Is there a way to make the recent apps on top of each other instead of side to side? That is the only thing I prefer of the current update.
Try swiping right and holding on the home button, it activates a sliding way to navigate recent apps and is much faster. Only work well for like 6-7 recent apps though.
Yes, you can disable samsung launcher and you'll have old recents back!
Great new UI
Great video! Short and concise
wow thanks man ,, not update in a while.. just found out today got that update
April 9th the day Samsung decides to bless me with one ui after months of negligence

apparently i had this update on my note 9 but i just saw these new feature they're awesome. thanks for the video bro with out it i wouldn't know about the one ui
You can swipe it from home and hold to get Google assistant
When other companies copy this one-handed use Ui
it's just good thing to do

You can use Google assistant with the swipe gesture
Ur awesome bro... Always providing wallpaper....thaku
Great video, I flashed my VZW note 9 to pie a few days ago! But you can still use Google just swipe and up and hold on the home gesture
this makes me want a samsung phone now but i still prefer stock android.
stock android is overrated and boring
@@danielmladenow222 stock Android isn't boring, it's Android you can do what you want to with it.
One UI is simply brilliant. The Night Mode has come in handy, the gestures is a superb addition and now you can make use of the whole display, the rounded corners sync with the phones curved edges which is satisfying to see, the phone seems to be even smoother than before (Multi tasking is a breeze). As for the battery, I still don't know if it has actually improved or gotten worse. I reckon it's the same although I never use optimized or high performance mode as it eats up the battery quickly. Overall I'm happy.

Glad to see Samsung is improving there software. I have the Note 8 and I don't have One UI just yet.
It's been 5 years I use MIUI, because I love and need the dual apps, second space, and on/off schedule.
Could this One UI make me ditch MIUI?
If Xiaomi releases an official dark theme, then you will stay.
You can't beat Mi prices after all.
I'm a xiaomi user previously (Mi3,Mi4,Mi6,Mi8) , but not anymore , the phone feels cheap , I can't seems to enjoyed while using it . switch back to samsung after so long . I feels way better with it .
Definitely I will bet you soon Miui will copy many of features but they deliver it with bugs and ads
Sounds like something someone who hasn't used miui global before would say. Ported Chinese roms will have ads but if you're running the global version of miui there aren't any noticeable bugs nor do you see any ads.
Actually probably samsung copyied some out of miui and some from apple...
@@CritLoren nah i have global version but when im connected to the internet it always shows ads

Same here
I ordered Samsung mobile and excited to experience it's interface😍
Great video. Thank you sir 👍
how's the battery life? I've read on gsmarena that some people had issues with it. some of them even willing to downgrade to Oreo.
Yea, I have noticed my s9 battery is not as fast charging up anymore, even though i toggled the fast charging option on, its still not as fast as oreo, and the battery drain is not that bad. And another feature was removed, the device care battery put background apps to sleep is gone. Im stuck here with all my apps in background :(
I think my battery is draining a bit faster now
@@thelegend6223 there's an option to put apps to always sleep under device care > battery > the 3 dot icon on the top right corner > sleeping apps.

Cool intro transition!
Everyone who has a s9 with the new update, how do u add a pic to a contact? And how do you remove/turn off the bixby button?
To add a picture to a contact, simply select the contact en click on edit, there you get the option to change the picture of the contact.
To turn off Bixby, go to your homescreen and tap and hold on a blank space on your homescreen. This will bring you to all your screens on your phone. Now scroll to the left where you find the Bixby screen and at the top of that screen you will find the option to turn of the Bixby screen.
If anything is still unclear, let me know. Good luck!
@@Tingelmans yee but can't you disable the bixby button as well? Cause before this new update I had turned it off so it did not do anything when I pressed the button..? Also, I did go into the contacts application and go to a contact and press edit. I can't seem to add a picture.. might just be a bug due to the new release
@@kokopoppan I don't know if you can disable the button itself. I haven't found it yet . Maybe Google will help you out.
And now for the contacts. When you are in the edit screen of a contact, there should be some sort of a picture in the shape of a circle with a camera in it. It should be located at the top of your screen. When you tap on that, it should give you the option to change the picture of a contact.
@@Tingelmans yeah, I do that but I don't get the option to change the picture of the contact. Most likely a bug.. Thank you very much for the help! Anything I might be able to help you with?
@@kokopoppan oh, that's a pity! Hopefully they bring out a update soon, so the problem will be solved.
And, no, no struggles on my S9+. But thanks a lot for your offer :). Have a good day!
I still prefer Android 8.0 Oreo look and i want the dot that use to be on the bottom left. It use to remove all the buttons
i agree , i dont really like the gestures so i sould liked to have that option . I am preaty sure they are gona bring it back
Yeah I prefer oreo too, I wish i never updated my software
Same bro
@@one0onelion248 so you suggest not to update it? Because I haven't got the pie 9 update for my S8 yet.
@@MafiosoDon21 definitely don't update. It's my biggest regret since getting the note 9. Pie is just so buggy and everything in general seems to take longer, especially when you're cleaning the storage or ram. Also, if you wanna change the res. To a higher form which includes high performance for gaming, you cant do it through your drop down menu, you have to go through battery. It has become such a hassle. I'm genuinely thinking of reversing it back but I'm scared the phone might mess up
So informative.
Cant wait.
4:30 btw. you can do that on a lot more androids. developer options > scroll down halfway to DRAWING and there´s 3 differnt animation duration scales(Window animation scale, Transistion animation scale and Animator duration scale). Scales can be set in between 0 and 10. it multiplies the duration.
Anyone else excited for RCS messaging for all Android phones?

Finally, but they could've came up with a better name
@@Sataka23clips Ghetto iMessage
Nova 98 I’m aware that it’s supposed to replace SMS with something that has working group chats, notifications for when someone reads your message, etc.
All I’m saying is that Google is basically trying to push a new protocol introduced over five years ago to carriers so that they can compete with iMessage and FB Messenger.
tl;dr RCS messaging (or Google’s Chat protocol) is basically just a ghetto version of both the aforementioned messaging services.

Not bad, I learned a lot more about my Note 9's One UI by watching this video than discovering it myself
Thanks for the review!
I want the update already on my S9. I'm still on the November security patch
Blame your carrier. I've been on the Offical version since the 24th January. I'm unlocked with the exynos version tho. Lots of people blame Samsung when it's actually the carrier to blame as they add bits and pieces after the updates go out. I'm not saying Samsung is faultless either.
When I get a job I'll buy an unlocked phone instead of one on a carrier
Don't do it there is bugs and no pro camera video mode
I'm on an unlocked phone and still dont have the update
Same still don't have the update on my Unlocked s9 don't understand at all.
Anyone think this guy looks like FP from Riverdale?
# Superb bro......
I just got it today love it. Though if you use gesture navigation I hate how on keyboard and Twitter bottom part is blank which use to where your nav buttons were
I would change back to Android 8 if I could.
I mean the design doesn't look like it came from Samsung, I loved the typical Samsung Style in Android 6 7 and 8.
Also it's kinda sad that you CAN'T remove the background bubble of the apps on the homescreen and it's annoying that you don't have the little dot in your navigation list where you can just double tap to hide it.
So I would go back to 8 if I could, but I don't wanna backup and restore my data manually
What do you mean by the three dots on the navigation screen? I'm trying to look for it haha. Also, I'm not too sure if this works on newer Android but on my S7 Edge you can remove the backround bubbles of apps in the settings.
Samsung- one ultra instinct.
Bro that bixby home lag was annoying for me too. Nice that you mentioned it.
There has been a Samsung dark mode for a while. They listed it in their theme store as a high contrast theme. It's still available for Android 8.0 but under a different creator name now. One thing the theme didn't do was darken the notifications. I'm really glad this system theme addresses that.
Wow! There are a lot of features mentioned here that most other sites overlook. The messaging app is basically a mimic of iMessage (not a bad idea), easier accessible animation shortening without enabling Developer Mode is nice, and the home buttons/dock being gone is awesome! I've had 2 Galaxy S8+ get screen burn-in from the home dock. I'll gladly switch to the gestures once my phone gets the update.

One thing I noticed right after my update is that when connecting my wireless BT headphones I now get a notification on how much battery life is left for the headphones. Very cool seeing as my headphones have no indication.
