I always wanted to do this same project, in theory you should be able to use an early 2008 macbook pro trackpad with this, enabling multitouch gestures and much better tracking.

Nice video! OpenCore Legacy Patcher is awesome! For MB vs Mb: MB is Megabyte and Mb is Megabit. 8 Megabits is 1 Megabyte. Megabits/Gigabits are generally used in marketing numbers because they're bigger.
From my understanding and research way back when building a pc during the windows 95 days is that a lower case b stands for bits and the uppercase B stands for Bytes.
And to add to even more confusion these days is that I always used the term MHz in transfer speeds for memory (RAM) but now I see people using the term MT (Mega Transfer) for memory clock speed

I still have a white MacBook from the end of 2009 in pristine condition, it was my first Mac and even today in 2024 with an SSD and Catalina I use it for basic things, without a doubt Apple always had top-notch hardware making every penny of the investment worth it (except cases like the 2011 15" Macbook Pro, that was a failure. Amazing, giving me ideas for one of my two 08 unibody macbook (not pro) 2.4 and my 08 black book 2.4. What I find crazy is why apple never update the computer past lion having the same specs as the unibody from the same year, to my knowledge is something about 32 bit config on the kernel but is crazy no one has figure out a way to run newer OS.

What I can tell from this macbook it’s basically like 6x faster than a school chromebook that gets 10 fps on run

I always just fine google chrome working as intended despite having other alternatives
