  • This is part 7 and the final part in a series where I build a Pop Up wedge style camper for my Toyota Tacoma.
I build an ORIGAMI style tent for my pop up camper build. I used Corrugated Plastic for the walls and created the hinges using Gorrilla tape. Then I installed the finished walls to the roof. My plan was to install it to the bottom, but I decided it would be better installing it to the roof. Now on a nice cool night I can sleep in the open without walls and have unobstructed views of the stars.
With only 2 hours of Tig welding experience I attempt to weld up the camper frame. All welds done with the ARCCAPTAIN 200P ACDC TIG welder. So far this welder has worked well for me with no issues. If you plan on buying an ARCCAPTAIN welder please consider using this link as I don't make any money making these videos. The small commission that I would make is much appreciated. Thank You.

This caught my attention; my wife was making planter boxes with the very same material today. Looking good so far and weather stripping looks to be a challenge from my perspective, yet I don't think you'll not achieve this. Good looking project.

Very interesting design, I like the concept.
I think you will definitely need to use some sort of additional rain protection such as the "skirt" you mention.
    Good work!

Absolutely love all of these videos, I am looking to do something similar but with more width so you can sleep in the bed easily much like the Moonlander but without so much height and such a box style look. I truly appreciate the lessons learned.

Thanks, I hope your project turns out well. I almost added some width, but decided to keep it simple for my first try.

This is a really great idea! I wish you could tell me the name of the fasteners used to connect it to the frame. I will try to figure it out.

twist eyelet, twist stud. There's also a couple other names too. Used for tarps, canvas and marine use.
