Couldn't say if he was from the focus in the shot here, but Rosenberg is 'supposed' to be first spotted at the food court seen at 3:27. It would be a cool detail as he wasn't in the original (though he was supposed to be). The scientist waiting opposite Gordon on the other side of the tracks kinda looked like him though.

You mean quality or assets? If by quality then sure. If by assets then uh, not necessarily. BM assets were being created from mid 2000s to its release in what was it 2013, (not counting Xen) we are at a point where it can look even better than BM if done right. Id rather that, than it using bm assets
i personally wont mind if it does its own thing since i look at opposing force as sortof a “what if?” type story so if it looks different from BM that’d only add to it having the ability to stand out and not worry about being consistent since the whole Race X alien thing in OpFor makes it not canon anyway ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ just my two cente tho.

@@dalekman9999 It needs to make it’s own stamp, much like how OpFor did when it first came out. I just mean that if it crosses paths with locations in Black Mesa, just re-use those maps. I completely forgot there was more than one rail at the start, and it was a really nice touch that they used it rather than just recreated it.
I don’t think there are any other areas that cross over in Blue Shift, apart from the end when we get caught in a delayed loop.
Something we've all been waiting for, I really can't thank HECU Collective enough for their continuation and triumphant perseverance during these hard times of Covid to still make such a wonderful mod such as this. Aswell as thanking Bolloxed for covering this fantastic mod.

@@heliumproduction7832 maybe one day you'll be able to make half-life 1 or 2 mods, and maybe some black mesa mods too, and then maybe if you're lucky enough, you may gonna turn them into games instead of just mods that people make, such as "Half-life: Echoes", or "Half-life 2: Hunt down the Freeman", or some other mods that are awesome. though, i wish you luck on that my friend, and i wish you for the best of the besties best with your school work on high school, and i hope you'll have a great, beautiful, safe, and protective day or night.

He's a great composer himself. Some of the best. I listen directly to his soundtracks from Black Mesa, others like Max Payne 3, trilogy original of GOW, Shadow of the Colossus, Half-Life 1, 2, DooM and Bully as well. He's a great composer himself. Wow

I'm pretty sure Guard Duty already has a huge chunk of the game ready, but they wanna release the whole thing together.

There is Operation Black Mesa, which connects with Black Mesa and Guard Duty (they are connected, but from different developers!). Until last year they posted some about him. They post something from time to time. I hope this project is still alive. Now just wait for the release of this and other great Half-Life 1 and 2 and Black Mesa mods as well. 🤗 ;-----;

Second, they not gonna post everything that they did every day.
Third, Operation: Black Mesa is a bigger project than Guard Duty. So they focus that game more but in the end Operation: Black Mesa is gonna share assets with Guard Duty anyways.
Fourth, they gonna release both games at the same time.

Maybe, Maybe not. From videos on Tripmine studios, Gaurd Duty seems to have more survival horror aspects and maybe less of a 1:1 remake

When you first see Gordon's tram, the music is warming up beacuse you're about to see him, and when you see Gordon Freeman himself the music changes to magestic and heroic tone. So. Damn. GOOD!
The music really sets up the mood for what's to come.

I played this 2 days ago out of curiosity of someone had made a blue shift mod yet. Without hesitation after seeing the first screen shot I was really excited. I can't wait for chapter 2 and maybe even the rest of the series!

This deserves to be included into a Steam build of Black Mesa or in a form of DLC
For those asking, this is a mod called Black Mesa: Blue Shift developed by HECU Collective. It uses the assets and engine of the already brilliant Black Mesa.
Operation Black Mesa and Guard Duty are being developed by Tripmine Studios and, as far as I know, they're not using Black Mesa as base. Thus the longer development cycle.
The Black Mesa transit system is so extensive it's strange that Gordon never finds himself walking through any of its tunnels after the disaster. You'd think it would be the most straightforward and navigable means of reaching the Lambda Complex.
On A Rail is obviously a different network for moving materials.
A side story mod could be a full implementation of all Transit system network, just for ride freely.
Great. Now we need a barney's mind remake with this.
HECU Collective are more fast recreating the game into Source engine than Tripmine Studio.

That’s because they’re using assets already made by Crowbar collective. Tripmine Studios is making their games completely from scratch. This is because it gives them more freedom to do what they want with the game.

I LOVED the og Blue Shift. Yea, it was maybe a little short, but playing the role as one of the few remaining survivors of BM was awesome. Plus, it makes HL2's badass Barney that much more believable;)
Looks pretty great I bet when the full release of it gets out then it will show up on steam, I bet they`ll make it a dlc expansion for the black mesa game so you can switch from black mesa to black mesa blue shift :)
You know. I do want Tripmine Studios take on remaking Opposing Force and Blue Shift, but I also want to see the community remake both of those games with what Black Mesa already has to offer. Granted it would've been an almost impossible endeavor to remake OF with Black Mesa assets because the original added a lot more content to half life but I think, while seeing this being made, that It's fairly possible we will have Black Mesa Blue Shift remake... and it will look great: the trainyard, the old labs the xen maps, the ending. I'll be looking forward to it. In the meantime: "This is where I get off." :)
