With Brannon Braga, ex-"Deep Space 9" show runners on board as co-executive producer, it's no surprise "The Orville" manages to create space battle scenes better than any seen in the Trek-verse. Take that, Paramount!!
Yeah and the bit with the fighters trying to destroy parts of the base to try and slow down the weapon, there was a bit of Star Wars in there
He's ex-Voyager with a smidge of TNG, not DS9, but he is a brilliant storyteller. "Cause and Effect" is one of my all-time favourite Star Trek episodes.

Can't get enough! Props to Seth MacFarlane and Jon Favreau for an awesome show.
This season of the Orville, feels so much like a version of DS9 which is still my favorite ST series and mirrors alot of the magic that b5 had.
Outstanding show, nothing better on streaming. Sci Fi at its peak.

Given how this Season has seen 2 Admirals died, I hope in the Season finale Ed is offered the position of Admiral for all of the things he has done over the course of these 3 Seasons, but despite how it is something he always wanted (as mentioned a couple of times in Seasons 1 and 2), he turns the position down to remain Captain of The Orville since that's where he feels he truly belongs.
There been only one
I mean, most of the important things he helped set in motion happened because he was a captain. Maybe he’ll come to the realization he does more good out there than he ever could behind a desk.

I was so upset after this episode. Charlie was a complex character which made her my favorite, I was hoping to see her survive this, get a promotion and one day be a fleet captain. A story arc i will truly miss.
Maybe she'll get the "Tasha Yar / Admiral Sela" treatment.
Some weird, floopy space-magic hijinks will see her return in an unexpected way.

Love it. Most new shows would do good if they learned a thing or two from the Orville.
With this season there is no doubt, that Orville can proudly take over the legacy of Gene Rodenbery style Star Trek.
This episode is wild! Possibly the best in this season. I cannot wait for season 4 to happen. hear me hulu? season 4!!!
The current writer strike will cause a delay, but Seth and Hulu are working on a 4th season, but it will be awhile..plus they are reducing the budget for it.

Not a bad episode. Kind of a surprise ending . However, the one thing that kept pulling me out of the show was the obvious, if not near criminal level, of the music mimicry from Star Wars and Independence Day. You can hear music VERY similar to John William's The Asteroid Field chase score during Malloy and LaMarr's dodge and weave fighter scene. Got some Independence Day'ish scoring for the arrival of the Kaylon. Enjoying the season. Might be getting a little to Goody Two Shoes.
After seeing episode 9 domino we hoped that we might see some action between union kaylon Fighting against krill and moclans but it didn't Happened while episode 9 was an awesome finale instead of episode 10.
