I did tried it out, but wasn't to actually download videos, at least it's able to stream. In potplayer you can record it, which is good, but still, at least for the quality it's kinda bad. However, thanks for your videos, I think you are the only one actually showing Alternatives and options to vlc.
Thanks so much for all you do! This app looks great. For those looking for "the secret" to downloads 😅, you're right to direct us to the comments in your Pot Player video.
When it was possible to use VLC to stream RUclips videos, I was also able to pull the Codec information for the RUclips video. Is there anything out there that can give you thst same information?
Hi thanks for the comment, yes I miss that, I have another video on Potplayer, and some of my followers have asked that there as well. i have taken time to try to see if it could do it and I did not see a way. I am kind of looking for the same thing as you, and if I find anything I will report back. Thanks so much for watching and commenting!
@@SamHayden As i sit back and giggle a bit.... I have been using vlc and potplayer for quite sometime Let me point you to the right location start your youtube link up broom brooom. then after selecting the video quality your after in potplayer right click on the screen. Then click Playback/System Info CTRL+F1 And there you go system info has great resources WAIT NOOOO NO THATS THE RIGHT BUTTON You dont need to know what your computers like lets check the left button nah thats what potplayer is playing the stream from eg ffmpeg and whatever its doing the one your after is File information in the middle it will say The File name eg the title of the video then it will say General1 down the list. Then format, size of the file im watching a dash stream so general shows dash but below that is video 0 and video shows the ....Format ac1 the bitrate the fps the fact its a google piece of transcoding I am going to reply to myself the potplay is good in a few ways unlike vlc i was able to copy the entire file information area its very similar to the vlc version of the codec info and the playback info in playbacksystem info shows the general codecs
Well, with VLC handicapped, I can only use screen recording for yt video. It takes longer time because you have to play the video all the way. It is better you have a premium yt user account for that to avoid the ads. Yes, it still can be done.
Well while I certainly would not take the word of 1 person saying there is adware in something, there are alternatives, you could try PotPlayer, I do have a video on that as well. You can find it here: ruclips.net/video/TqboUwHGQxU/видео.html Give that a try, and yeah my advise, dont listen to some on here blabbing about adware this and that, in my 30 plus years as a tech, 100% of the time someone told me their PC had a virus, it didnt, they just had no clue what they were talking about, however; it is purely possible that SMlayer has adware but I use it and have never seen a sign of that and nothing comes up when I scan my system for adware/maleware either. Hope this helps!!
Have you guys used SMPlayer? Let me know what you thought of it!
