    I made a mistake like that once on Etsy when I hit the button too fast. I started to fix it immediately but someone had purchased it within seconds. Normally I am with you on the ethics and moral responsibility, but in that case I did cancel the sale. I explained to the buyer that I couldn’t sell a 200 item for 29 cents and that it was a typo that I had been trying to fix. I felt there was a little bit of ethical and moral responsibility on her part as well.

    Oddly enough, when I first started reselling on eBay, I listed a Lisa Frank hat for $15-$20 ish... It sold within 5 minutes and I had people messaging me directly offering to pay hundreds if I canceled the sale and sold it to them.
    I knew I wasn't going to take their offers because it was my own fault for not researching and I knew I'd have so much anxiety for stepping over my moral boundaries. Id rather look back and feel good about my choices then wonder when karma was gonna sneak up on me.
    I DID get value out of the experience - I learned the power of researching and HOW to research.

      I sold the necklace for higher than it's sold in 10 years.... value is determined by the market and the value on that was what I sold it for. Just because one person has a item listed significantly higher doesn't mean that's the value of it, sold items do and the last one that sold 3 years ago sold for 60....

  • @LISALOVEWINS
    @LISALOVEWINS 8 месяцев назад +1

    You did the right thing. Plus you admitted you broke even in actual cost to you. I think when you make a mistake like this, you can't make it at the expense of your customers over losing a $100 profit. If it was $1k mistake I could see doing a cancellation because that's a lot of money, it could potentially cost you a lot more when you don't have access to that 1k. I love your sharp mind and business sense but the reason I watch you is because you do the right thing with people, teaching people how to do what you do and openly sharing your research with everyone is a sign that its not always about how much money you can make off your followers, its also making it fun and connecting with your online community and building your brand in a way that will keep people coming back to buy again - and they'll probably bring their fam & friends too!
