Happy New Year. Kat!🎉
Same to you!
16:50 I would honor the sale. Losing money is a really good teacher!
Lol yes it is
Yes, on Lisa Frank
Will do
Hi Kat! Dani the The Niche Lady has one of those big white turtle shells that hangs on the wall. That was a great sale! I didn’t know it was by Nate Berkus. I recognize that name as I think he had a home decor show on TV years ago. Good to know his stuff is worth picking up! Thanks so much for the informative video as always! ❤😊
You're so welcome!
I did that mistake for less money and actually lost a bit of money but honored the sale. It's the right thing to do.
Yes I think so too
I think everyone does that at least once in a while.
Thank you
You're welcome
I made a mistake like that once on Etsy when I hit the button too fast. I started to fix it immediately but someone had purchased it within seconds. Normally I am with you on the ethics and moral responsibility, but in that case I did cancel the sale. I explained to the buyer that I couldn’t sell a 200 item for 29 cents and that it was a typo that I had been trying to fix. I felt there was a little bit of ethical and moral responsibility on her part as well.
Yeah I understand that for sure
You did the right thing!
Thank you
Oddly enough, when I first started reselling on eBay, I listed a Lisa Frank hat for $15-$20 ish... It sold within 5 minutes and I had people messaging me directly offering to pay hundreds if I canceled the sale and sold it to them.
I knew I wasn't going to take their offers because it was my own fault for not researching and I knew I'd have so much anxiety for stepping over my moral boundaries. Id rather look back and feel good about my choices then wonder when karma was gonna sneak up on me.
I DID get value out of the experience - I learned the power of researching and HOW to research.
Yes i would have done the same. We live and learn
Love to see LisaFrank video.
Noted!
Yes on the Lisa Frank research video please!
Will do
I agree wholeheartedly with you in honoring the sale of the Harley helmet. I would do the same. It’s painful, but not the buyer’s fault. And you might have a repeat buyer in future. Kudos to you.
Definitely painful and someone got a good deal
LOL bring back my childhood - Lisa Frank research video please!
Yes I love her too
Yes!! Do Lisa Frank
Will do
yes
I did that too. Mine was lower dollar. Meant to put$19.99 and missed the last "9". They got it for $1.99. Only paid 25 cents, thank goodness! It is the right thing to do. It was my mistake. I am sure to check now!
Lol yes for sure double check
I’d love to see a Lisa Frank video 😊
YAY coming soon!
I made a $100.00 mistake last month
I did the same thing I sent it to them I felt like if I didn’t honor it the next time I might do something else shady. That’s not who I am either. Much respect to you ❤ it will come back to us both.
Yes for sure
Great variety in this one, Kat, fantastic!!🥰✨ Looks like 2024 is off to a wonderful start!!🎉👏🏁
Thanks so much! 😊
Very Helpful information! Thank you for sharing
Glad it was helpful!
I am so happy I found you! I am also a nurse and considering a transition into reselling. After 20 years I am just ready for something else. I've always loved thrifting and treasure hunting. Do you do this full time or do you still work as a nurse as well?
I've been full time reselling/youtube since Feb 2022 so almost 2 years :D
Excellent! You go girl@@TheNurseFlipper
If I made the pricing error, welll..I’d be so mad at myself!! After I calmed down, I’d have the internal conversation of, suck it up buttercup! You have to honor the price. But, don’t you do that again. And, move forward. We all get tired, and oversights will happen.
Yeah I wasn't thrilled about it LOL :D
bundle the cloths make a lot for sewers always looking for material
I don't think the fabric would be worth the shipping cost on the ones I had
@@TheNurseFlipper just an idea sometimes buttons and zippers are wanted
@hawkeye2495 yeah I would think if better quality but these weren't super impressive
I’d do the same. They were probably so excited to get that deal😆! It also says a lot about your character ❤.
Lol I try 😅
Yes to Lisa Frank
Will do!
Great sales, Kat, thanks for sharing! Also enjoyed watching Dalton play:)
Glad you enjoyed!
02:35 I would have been afraid to post this as Ive been dinged for a similar vintage cap. Saying selling any delivery service clothing was forbidden as they might be used by thieves.
I would be if it was an actual uniform but this was more like a Souvenir
I feel that you did the right thing by following through with the sell of the helmet. Your reputation is more important than the potential profit for one item. The buyer might have slammed you with bad feedback and that would have been more costly going forward.
Yes very possibly for sure
I would do exactly what you did. Honest business will pay off. This is one of the reasons you have so many followers ❤
Thank you 😊 🙏 💓
i would have done what you did. Selling something as it's marked is only the right thing to do.
Yeah for sure
Do you clean the pillows? And if so, how? Thanks!
If they're dirty or have an odor I will put them in the washing machine
If it’s my mistake I would furfill it
If someone is just browsing a shop i can see older listings getting lost. The tropical shell lamp is so dam fabulous, how in the world didn't it sell quickly. I love it.
Yes very true!
Made this mistake with a 350.00 vase and listed for 35.00 I ate it because I paid 10.00 for the vase. Think you are right.
So frustrating but yes I think the right thing
Lisa Frank lives (and works) in my town (Tucson AZ) Her studio/warehouse not far from us. (had my daughter known this as she was growing up during the Lisa Frank frenzy, she would have freaked out! lol ) Its a very cool building with animals etc painted on it. Her 2 sons are now old enough and through school to help her in the next phase of her business.
And ....I would have let the mis-priced item go as well.
Oh wow that's awesome her designs are great!
@@TheNurseFlipper She got her style from her father bringing home a poster of Peter Max when she was young.
@@user-ri6qu3fl8d oh that's awesome!
Hi Kat, been reselling now for about 7 months, learned a lot from you thank you! I agree and respect what you did with the mistake, it's important to have morals and to treat people fairy. Good Karma as well!
You are so welcome! I'm happy to help :-)
Thanks for sharing your business results with us. You are inspirational!
You are so welcome!
I was going to time stamp Dalton and the kitten. 😂 Love your values and morals! You did the right thing. I’d do the same as you however I’d be kicking and screaming for a day or two. 😅💕
Yes! I wasn't happy lol lol Thank you!
Kat, I want a pearl necklace. Do you have anything for sale?
I'm sure I do somewhere, but not any listed. Email me thenurseflipper@yahoo.com and let me know the length you want 😉
I did the same thing Kat…only made the mistake on the PM listing, no where else…I honored the sale. I don’t sell a lot and not for much money and I lost money…still honored the sale.
Yeah it's hard to lose it, but not their fault
No question, you have to always be honest and honorable.
Yes I agree
Tiffany? Hmmm.
You did the right thing, I call it the cost of doing business we make errors/mistakes and it puts you in a positive with the buyer. I would hate to find a good deal and the seller cancel due to their error. I know sellers cancel often I see it in groups from it sold fast I think I listed low or another buyer offered more so the cancel. Kudos to not canceling on the buyer shows integrity.
Yeah I don't ever do that we had the buyer ask to buy the lisa frank piece after it sold as well.
Is Marquis a maker, description, era? TIA
It is the line Marquis by Waterford
Thank you!
Yes, YES!! Lisa Frank would be great! Thanks, Kat!!
You're welcome 😊
Always own up to errors, yes. They happen. You win in the end.
Yep, sometimes we pay to learn!
ABSOLUTELY, I would have done the exact same thing. I too, buy and sell items. You have to be able to sleep at night and my conscious would have hurt. Can't make a person pay for your own mistake. Yes, you did the morally correct move. Kudos Kat!!!💚💚💚
Exactly!!
Love your what solds!!! YES on the Lisa Frank research video. I have a couple of items but haven’t listed them yet.
Yay, thank you!
Oh man, I'm sure that was a hard pill to swallow. I'd have been 'beating myself up over that for days-but like you-I would honor the sale. Thanks for sharing.
Yes it was! I was not happy for sure lol
You did the right thing honoring your sale. Take the hit and move on. Yes on the Lisa Frank video - so much fun learning ! Thanks for all your hard work - really enjoy your videos
Will do!!
I would have canceled. Buyers to follow would not know or understand that it was a mistake and will expect the next seller to come close to that price. In essence devaluing the item. Just my opinion.
I don't think most buyers look at sold items for prices. Sellers However hopefully compare more than one item. Even if I canceled it would still show as sold at that price they wouldn't see I canceled
You did the right thing. I would have done the same
Thank you
Hi Kat, great glasses! I am going to raid my death pile and my recent incoming inventory to maximize on the seasons, up and including summer. We are now marking if an item is seasonal when we inventory it so we can pull them when the time comes. I was very disorganized last year when it comes to those opportunities, I’m not gonna make that mistake twice. LOL❤
I just list as I buy because people buy random stuff all year I've found 😆 🤣 😂
I would have done the same thing as you and ship the purchase. When it’s your mistake as a seller, you have to do what’s right. Things like that can happen to any seller so it’s a good a lesson.
Yeah for sure
You’re a good person. I would have done what you did. We learn from our own mistakes! 😉
So true!
You snooze you lose is so true.. I can't tell you how many times I'll have someone asking me 100 questions about something and it sells while they are doing it. Most of the time the info they want is already there..... My typos are usually in the other direction.. I'll be working on some listings and see I have a shirt worth 12 bucks for 12,000 😂
hahahahha I do this too, but those don't sell in ten minutes LOL
I would have also completed the sale for the list price. It was and is the right thing to do. Good for you for doing the right thing. 😇
Thank you
You did the right thing to send the helmet. I would have done the same. I run an ethical business. Please do a Lisa Frank research video. I have never sold one of her items and just recently started looking for them. Thanks!
Will do! I got lucky finding the big lot!
I like the info you share. I would not have canceled the helmet either. 😕
I'm happy to help 😊
I’m sorry you lost the money Kat, but you’re right to honor the price. I would’ve done the same. I enjoyed watching Dalton and the kitty in the background. ❤️🥳😆
Thanks so much!
You did the right thing.
Thank you 😊
i've done the same thing. i always eat my mistakes.
Yep only way to learn
This is a tiny bit off topic. What do you do with items from Goodwill that have the prices written in sharpie? Glass is easy to remove, but what about boxes or containers where it is obvious what you paid? Thank you!
If it's on Ceramic that absorb or a box I draw a black sharpie square over it
Hi Kat, I made a different mistake... I sold some shoes and accidently put free shipping; and wouldn't you know, they lived all the way across the country... I took the hit and ended up losing about $2... not bad - I only cried for a couple of hours... lol... and would definitely like a Lisa Frank research video...
Lol lol yes it happens we learn and move on
If it were an auction item, I would have fulfilled the order, but sometimes eBay doesn't take my price edits, so I would have said the listing posted incorrectly and I would have cancelled the sale as long as it wouldn't take me out of top rated seller status
Yeah I thought I put 299 but nope... so frustrating
Ask a lawyer, I think under consumer protection laws, you mark a price someone buys even if wrong a store cannot change it once a customer is buying it..
Yeah I'm not sure
It only applies to certain items , food stores that are in a waiver program, has to honor one of the items free. As for eBay it would be a personal decision to honor that price for customer satisfaction, unless eBay or other reselling platforms have rules in place.
It's only January and I'm afraid of summer slowdown. Last year, I tried to have brand new bathing suits, shorts and tshirts before everyone else but it didn't really help to keep my store afloat. Do you have any suggestions?
Do you still have a store? What is the name? I am in the market for one or two bathing suits.
@@isoldelippens6670 oh thank you but I sold all of them! 😅
I list all different kinds of stuff with no regard to season all year long. People buy all things year round for vacation both to hot and cold climates. Just keep listing steady and hopefully a hard slowdown will be avoided (we typically don't have them here)
Hi Kat - can you please explain what you mean by it not being a good business move to hold items? This was in regards to the Lisa Frank stationery at 22:59. Thank you, Katia
They asked me to hold it for 10 days until they get paid, but to me if someone else wanted it before 10 days I would rather have the money than the promise of money in 10 days
@@TheNurseFlipper Oh, I thought you meant they wanted you to hold the item in a photo! 😂 Thank you for clarifying!
Thanks for your time and video. I d eat the bad sale. My error. Not my buyers fault. Yes. I follow berkus decor
You are so welcome!
Hello Kat!
Hello hello 👋 ☺️
Hi Kat❤
Hello hello 👋 ☺️
Your ruining the value of items selling them so cheap. It's a shame that your so desperate for money that you sold that necklace for almost one hundred dollars less then the value. You should watch Shelle Belle, she really knows her business and sells things for full price.
I sold the necklace for higher than it's sold in 10 years.... value is determined by the market and the value on that was what I sold it for. Just because one person has a item listed significantly higher doesn't mean that's the value of it, sold items do and the last one that sold 3 years ago sold for 60....
You did the right thing. Plus you admitted you broke even in actual cost to you. I think when you make a mistake like this, you can't make it at the expense of your customers over losing a $100 profit. If it was $1k mistake I could see doing a cancellation because that's a lot of money, it could potentially cost you a lot more when you don't have access to that 1k. I love your sharp mind and business sense but the reason I watch you is because you do the right thing with people, teaching people how to do what you do and openly sharing your research with everyone is a sign that its not always about how much money you can make off your followers, its also making it fun and connecting with your online community and building your brand in a way that will keep people coming back to buy again - and they'll probably bring their fam & friends too!
I appreciate that thank you
