    People getting hyped, rightfully so, but we need to realise how truly difficult it is to control these monsters anyway, let alone with only partial use of one of your arms with steers, shifts and more. And he completed almost two race distances which is incredible, improved by about 6 seconds over the day. Take a bow Robert, what a man you are.

    • @Tautusian

      its all too easy to remember the world champion in the making that was robert kubica approaching his prime
      shame what happened, good to see him driving again but its too soon to talk about him returning with what is essentially one arm
      it should be noted that if he does return it will be a major blight on whoever has to leave to make it possible, and an incredible achievement on kubica's part if what he's already done isn't incredible enough

    • @aaronisgrate
      @aaronisgrate 7 лет назад +44

      this is easily the greatest story in all sports for 2017. and when he actually makes it back into a race it will go down as one of the best comebacks in sporting history.

    I think this says a lot about his character and talent. He completed almost 2 race distances and was getting quicker. Even with some physical limitations, new cars and regulations... he's still quick :/

    • @jujiide6922
      @jujiide6922 7 лет назад +10

      Jraybay i think that Robert has more talent of Seb, Lewis and Fernando. He is for me one of the best F1 drivers ever, only for driving in test for 142 laps after at least 6 years to his accident.... And with that arm.... He still driver way faster than Palmer in Qualifying... For me with a top team and with more training, he Can still win the title...

    • @Ofitus21
      @Ofitus21 7 лет назад +23

      Keiran George He was faster than Palmer (with a softer compound though) but Hulkenberg posted a better time a Q3. Still. Mega job from Robert. Driving an F1 car again was an achievement on its own, but he really pushed and posted some really impressive lap times

    • @googboog
      @googboog 7 лет назад +1

      HarryBrock testing is different from race conditions. You dont know about fuel loads and tyre strategies. Hulkenberg is pretty quick. And expecting Kubica to be faster than him in his first test is unrealistic

    • @HarryBrock1999
      @HarryBrock1999 7 лет назад +2

      1) He was doing a race simulation run so fuel load for Kubica would be fairly heavy
      2) Both on same type of tyres
      3) The track may have been quicker on the testing day because of the track rubbering in

    • @googboog

    I wasn't that much of a fan of Kubica when he used to be in F1, but God damn is sheer determination and grit he showed since his accident inspiring. He's like a Polish Terminator (Pollinator? Nah that'd make him a honeybee, could be a nice nickname IMO), he doesn't quit until he reaches his goal. Reminds me of Alex Zanardi and how determined he was (and is) to show that big injuries do not have to stop you from following your dreams/passion. Best to you Robert, you absolutely deserve to get an F1 seat again, perhaps more than many others!

    Reading these comments and reading comments in new videos about Kubica crushes my heart. People really believe he is that bad. No respect for him at all. He is actually a test driver for GR right now and people who are not into Kubica's situation just mock him. The situation from Monza has clearly showed, that without a doubt, Williams just wanted Orlen's money and they don't care about RK. For these who don't know : Kubica was testing front wing in Friday, in Saturday GR was using it while Kubica was using Russel's wing and suddenly the feeling in a car changed 180 degrees (watch Kubica's interviews where he talks about it).

    Nobody deserved this cockpit more than Kubica! I think his recovery shows that he is a extremly abitious person who will definetly get on the level of the over F1 drivers even with on arm. And he is also a huge help for the team with all of his experiences in motorsport, he will help the Team to build a faster car with all his feedback. So come on Renault give him a chance, he can't be worse than Palmer ;D

    If he did in fact do a good job yesterday he will find a car for 2018. He was regarded as a great talent, if he is fit to drive he will get a car (Renault or other). He probably will get some big company on his back as well + its great publicity for F1 + his salary wont be astronomical + he was always consistent. We all want to see him back and fighting, and if he says he can do it its very likely he can. Go Robert!!!

      Marco Giorgini Marco!!! Anche tu lo rivorresti in formula 1? Non so se te ne sei accorto ma lui con un braccio "menomato", 6 anni senza aver toccato una monoposto, tutte quelle operazioni, ha girato più veloce della qualifica di Palmer... #PalmerOut #KubicaIn

    2 new records for kubica:
    NR1: Driver with the longest period with a break inbetween sitting an formula one car (no researches done so if i am wrong, its just a joke!)
    NR2: Driver to make the fastest accident after a long period of break 0,4 sec
    hopefully he can make it back to F1 =)

    I think of mick doohan when I see kubica. Doohan had severe damage to his right calf and was unable to rear brake, so the engineers designed a 'thumb brake' for him instead. He was so successful with this modification, and his talent, that he became a 5 time 500cc world champion.

    Quick F1 history lesson: Without Kubica's horrible accident in Montreal 2007 Vettel would have never been a real F1 title competitor, he basically owes his career to that crash.
    Back then Vettel was still a test driver for BMW Sauber F1. Since Kubica obviously had to recover from that massive 250km/h impact into a concrete wall Vettel took his seat and had his racing debut in Indianapolis 2007, scoring an 8th place in that race. Later through a shall we call it "dispute" that caused the driver Scott Speed to leave Toro Rosso, Vettel gained his first actual seat in F1 in Hungary 2007.
