Before I shared this recipe, I tested if it will last long up to 5 days in a refrigerator. And all of their taste, texture and fragrance were perfectly fine! :-)
awesome idea! i tried it a long time ago and I had to microwave it at work with hot water in it to get it hot enough. I will have to try your version soon! btw, i'm obsessed with your lazy susan stand- where did u buy it?? I love your channel!! keep up the deliciousness!
i thought ramen noodles loose their quality and texture five minutes after cooking, and ramen shops won't even have take out because the noodles will be ruined.
bc they serve it with the water added!! the water sitting will degrade the noodles yes. But this you add the boiling water right before you eat to cook it when you want it!! so they will stay crisp until you finish cooking!!
i like to use glass noodle (vermicelli). I use chicken base, a little oyster sauce, a little fish sauce, a some sukiyaki sauce. i eat with shrimp, cabbage, green onion, and cilatro. I always have spicy, so i have chilies too. VERY spicy. sometime i make with lemon, lemongrass, basil, oyster sauce, and basil. not sukiyaki. thai cook here.
brillant! making this for lunch-the coating of veg oil she mentioned will keep the noodles free of fungi/bacteria if used within a few days...for those concerned.
i will do this for my school lunch next semester!!! Seonkyoung please also make a video on Bentos (lunch boxes)!! i'm already looking forward to buying the new Seonkyoung cookbook xD
I just made some of these after watching your video--mine have veggie both base, sweet and spicy chili sauce, carrots, cabbage, ramen noodles, chicken, and fresh ginger. I had to try one out immediately and it was so so so good. I can hardly wait for lunch tomorrow! Also, I totally love how you say noodles. XD
This is genius! I'm a busy working mommy and this will definitely come in handy. Noodles and ramen is my favorite go to meals, but this DIY version will help me cut down on the salt and MSG level. Thank you Seonkyoung!
I am getting ready to go on a camping trip this weekend, and these seem PERFECT for keeping me warm in the snowy woods. I even have all the ingredients and jars already at home, It just never occurred to me to put them together this way! Thank you for the wonderfull video.
this is so late but did the noodles being already cooked work out for you? or do u think leaving then uncooked and cooking the noodles w boiling water at camp wouldve been easier? lmk!!!
It is adorable, but yeah they don't have the letter L in their native language, the closest is the letter R , that's why it happens. Still quite charming.
Oh, they do have L, technically. It's just that in Korean L and R are the same "letter" (ㄹ) and is just pronounced differently depending on the "surrounding" sounds and the individual word. Like, I'm pretty sure they say "Lamyon" and not "Ramyon" in Korean (= ramen). Getting L and R confused in other languages like English is pretty common when the words starts with those letters.
this is great for people who dont have time to cook. i was wondering where the bean sprout was lol. have a good day and thank you. lots of love from trinidad
Great video! Thanks for your favorite jar ideas. I add 5 spice powder when I make Faux Pho. So good! I have also made miso soup jars. I put instant dashi, miso, tofu and nori pieces. I just put a room temperature jar under my Keurig and use the 8 oz cup. Works great!
I've been looking for something to have on hand for days I cannot cook a proper meal. This is perfect!! One day of cooking and prepping the jars, 4 to 5 days of real food for home or work, not overly processed, and not too expensive. Thank you!!.
These look awesome! Super important also, to know that you do *not* want to put boiling water in a refrigerator-chilled glass container. When very cold glass gets heated up very quickly, it WILL shatter. So be careful!
Seonkyoung, I love your videos so much, you're my favorite youtuber ^.^ This is the first recipe I'm trying though! I'm heating up water for the cup ramen I made last night, I'm so excited! Your videos let me learn how to make my favorite kinds of food from home and share the dishes with my friends, the videos have really inspired me to cook more. Thank you so so much!
if aliens rolled up to earth tomorrow and were like "show us one thing to convince us not to blow up this planet to make way for an intergalactic freeway," i'm pretty sure this video would do the job
This is amazing! I love Shin Ramyun but don't need all the sodium that comes along with it. I already doctor it up with veggies, egg, meat, etc. can you tell me what I would need to add to get my flavor profile similar to the Shin Ramyun?
Tiffany Felkner add processed cheese right after its cooked and it should melt sightly on top. Don't mix it, eat some if it before mixing the cheese into the soup. Try it and let me know!!
if you want similiar to shin ramyun taste, try to find some korean red paste/gochujang and korean soy paste (brown one, forgot the name), mix it with garlic, soy sauce, salt& p, chicken pepper etc
Doenjang is basically Korean miso. You can also buy ssamjang (I hit the jackpot and found loads reduced to 50p a tub in a Chinese supermarket) is doenjang mixed with gochujang plus some crunchy bits in it that I think are peanut. Obviously it's meant for ssambap (lettuce rice wraps) but I love adding a teaspoon to my ramen :)
Tiffany, I love Shin Ramyun also. Doenjang and Gochujang are both found in Asian markets, but if you don't have one near Ebay, Amazon or Hmart.com have them. If you are leaning towards Shin Ramyun Black, then you would need the addition of Beef Bone Broth. The powdered form can be found on both Ebay and Amazon. Happy cooking! :)
is he diabetic? if he is you can use Mung Bean and Pea Starch Noodles they are on the low glycemic index they are white and you don't cook them just add boiling water to them.
You're my fave RUclipsr/chef! I make homemade ramen for my hubby to take to work during the winter a lot. He doesn't have access to hot water, but he does have a microwave at work. So I'll have the broth, cooked meat, and veggies in a food storage container. The noodles are cooked, cooled, and put in a separate container. He'll put the cooked noodles in after the broth mixture (and cover w/ the lid) is done heating. It warms up the noodles in 1-2 minutes, and it's yumminess!
I love how much I believe that you really enjoy what you cook. In most cooking shows people always take one bite, smile then its over. But you just gobble it all down like its heavenly. Lol I'm deff going to make this for my husband. He loves instant Ramon. So I'm so sure he will burst into song and dance when I introduce this to him lol Thank you💕
I love this video of you my dear. Your word pronunciation and your overall bubbly attitude makes it sound like you had a lot of fun. As for this idea you can GUARANTEE me and my wife will be doing this. Thank you for making me smile and for the cooking inspiration. Much love!!
Fascinating demonstration. I didn't realize ramen could be so easily made. I have usually used storebought varieties but to know that I can make such variety is a revelation. Looks good! I will confess to smiling when Ms. Longest worked to pronounce "noodles" the way we do here. And I've subscribed too
Thing is, she speaks English perfectly. She's just faking an accent to add some more 'authenticity' to her channel, or to sound 'cute'. Maybe even trying to copy cat another more popular Korean Ytuber called Mangchi
I loved this... speacily how she keep saying noodles... loveing this.. great ramen info... plaus a good chuckle X D ooh yes eggs are super super important... allways trying to make them with liquid yolk while still being hard boiled..
I will be trying this one! Perfect for a meal at work .....I work at a hospital in Michigan and I don't eat always at the same time due to heavy work schedule day to day. I will share this with my coworkers....🍜🍜🍜🍜 ❤ your videos! Yvette from Grosse Pointe Park, Michigan

PLZ don't try pressure canning this. Don't risk botulism. IF not processed, then your safe. Processed in Oxygen free environment (pressure canning) you risk fatal results. I've canned for 50+ years...and I would NEVER eat anything like this but do make homemade soups following specific rules. Stick to recipes approved by local county extension offices or mason jar books.
Thank you so much Seonkyoung Longest. You are so happy you just make me smile. These recipes are amazing. My hubby and I both enjoyed and have decided to try this for a couple of weeks to see the difference from what we normally eat. Thanks for all the recipes and videos stayed blessed.

My favorite variation I've made so far (it's a spicy miso with shrimp and krab): - 1/4 tsp Dashi Stock Powder - 1/4 tsp Gochujang Powder - 1/4 tsp Chili Garlic Sauce - 1/2 tsp Japanese Chicken Stock Powder - 1/2 tsp White Miso Paste - 1/2 tsp Red Miso Paste - 1 cup Egg Noodles (al dente) - Baby Bok Choy (half a leaf per jar) - Shredded Carrot (less is more) - Shitake Mushrooms (less is more) - 1.5 oz Shrimp (cooked, deveined, tail off) - 1.5 oz Krab (chunked works best, avoid shredded as it's too small and ends up disappearing into the broth) - 1 stock Green Onion (chopped, whites up to greens) - 1/2 Clove of Garlic (minced) - 1 cup Boiling Water I've found it's best to mix the base and tare in a small, separate container. Just mix the powders/miso paste together and add about a Tbsp of boiling water then mix until combined. When ready to cook the jar-o-ramen, add hot water to the jar then dump the base/tare in on top and give it a shake. This prevents the bok choy or any other vegetables from soaking up the base/tare and becoming too salty.
best DIY cup ramen video. I love ramen but it's not healthy so I don't eat it as much. Then I found DIY videos on RUclips but they are set recipes but didn't explain the components to help you build your own. thank you!!!!
Thank you for the idea! I used tom *yum soup paste, with pawns, cilantro, limes, fishsauce, beansprouts and mushrooms. and will try out pho soup base, for the next try. I will make them for my birthday party. I will prepare them 1 day before, so don't have stress before the party.
Wow this is a genius idea for people who are to busy with work kids etc...... thank you sooo much for sharing this. I would have never thought about it.
This video has been a huge help those times I anticipate needing to stay late at work! If I can't remember what order to put the ingredients in, I pull the video up and build my cup ramen while I watch. Then I can go to bed knowing I won't be stuck ordering takeout at work. Big relief!
you are amazing I am going to make these for my daughter she is at college this is a great way for her to have a good meal at school thankyou so much you are an angel keep smiling
you are awesome...You say noodles however the hell you want to!! You have introduced me to new foods and I'll be forever grateful and I will always watch!!
I just have to say that I love your videos. They are very informative for someone who has no clue what how to cook most things and they are really cool to watch. You do a wonderful job explaining everything. Thank you so much for making them. :)
genius!!! so glad I found you... I was googling egg drop soup recipes and once that had me hooked I subscribed and ended up here... nice and easy presentation
I've been CRAVING ramen noodles but I wanted to eat healthier and with less plastic waste, and this is the solution to all my problems. THANK YOU! I cant believe I never thought about doing this kinda thing, but now I have all the ideas and I can eat ramen during the school week without feeling guilty!

Seonkyoung can you please do a video on different types of noodles: taste, price, easy to cook, best brand, etc?
You just want to hear her say "nuuuuders" for an entire video. LOL!
I just made some of these after watching your video--mine have veggie both base, sweet and spicy chili sauce, carrots, cabbage, ramen noodles, chicken, and fresh ginger. I had to try one out immediately and it was so so so good. I can hardly wait for lunch tomorrow!

I'd probably end up eating them all in one sitting but that's just me.
Ricky Xiong ID probably do the same
Ricky Xiong lol I thought I was the only one
Ricky Xiong No, me too.
you're telling me. a box of cereal doesn't last a day for me.
Ricky Xiong here here... look at how she just downed that like nothing!
"Nudirs, nudirs? Nooodles, i think thats right. So cook the nudirs.." 😂 i love her
Forest Kid
She's so cute when she says that!
Forest Kid hehe yeah, I love how she said it right and then went straight back to saying nudirs ^_^
I got my dog nudirs, he was happier and calm afterwards
😂😂😂

love the way she says noodles lol. replayed @2:40 so many times haha 😂😍
Shakilla Chow her accent is really cute!
It is adorable, but yeah they don't have the letter L in their native language, the closest is the letter R , that's why it happens. Still quite charming.
I thought about the same thing LOL
She's so cute :)
So, much, neuders.

This way of Asian instant soup changed my cooking life. It is greatly incredible and i'm so much very gratefull for it! THANK YOU
Great video!
My inner Naruto cannot wait to try these especially the first one that looked so good...
classicstorm I'm hardly an otaku but my god the ramen in Naruto has always had me wanting an authentic bowl of ramen lol
classicstorm ICHIRAKUUU!!!
I'm the same way. I can eat a full Thanksgiving dinner, watch an episode of Naruto when he eats Ichiraku ramen, and be hungry again.
classicstorm weebs

Awww How sweet!! So happy to hear that!! Hope you enjoy the homemade cup ramen!! 💖
I love how she actually eats her food at the end - to me it makes the recipes so genuine
if aliens rolled up to earth tomorrow and were like "show us one thing to convince us not to blow up this planet to make way for an intergalactic freeway," i'm pretty sure this video would do the job
Yes! Please come back with more flavors! This is very convenient and affordable eating for a full-time student such as myself.

If you use doenjang take care with the quantities because is stronger and saltier than miso.
It’s hard to find anyone who enjoys their food as much as Seonk. Thank you for these recipes.
Good ideas! I like curry powder for base, say sauce, garlic, ginger, bok choy, onion, mushrooms, green onion. with standard ramen noodles.
Do you put the garlic and ginger at the bottom as part of the base or on top? I have heard it constructed two ways
Base.
Did you cook the bok choy first?
Love the balance of the casual chat and information

Imagine you want a new Dell computer, so you go to electronics store and what do you see? A bunch of new Dells. Now you know how to say "noodles" :)
I don't think anybody pronounces it like that though.. more like new dolls?
Whoa! Nu doh
Or like noo-dles
Or new doughs...
Thing is, she speaks English perfectly. She's just faking an accent to add some more 'authenticity' to her channel, or to sound 'cute'. Maybe even trying to copy cat another more popular Korean Ytuber called Mangchi
omg this is perfect for us flight attendants, especially for long haul flights, because some aircrafts don't have ovens but we do have hot water!
so many ideas from this. thank you Seonkyoung
+Greyson Nguyen my pleasure! ❤

😍😍😍the say she says noodles is so precious I love it
Thank you for encouraging me in experimenting something I have a passion for.
I like how you keep switching between Korean and Japanese pronunciation of 'ramyun''ramen' so cute
My kids love asian soups. These are a wonderful idea! Thanks for sharing.
I love love love your videos!!! 💖
+mrs. powda thank you!! 😘
I will be trying this one! Perfect for a meal at work .....I work at a hospital in Michigan and I don't eat always at the same time due to heavy work schedule day to day. I will share this with my coworkers....🍜🍜🍜🍜

I liked the video because she is so stinking cute!
I love her enthusiasm omg - Thank you so much for breaking down the measurements so we can mix and match at home! I didn't know you could buy dashi powder, so until I find some, I might try making a little bonito packet with cheescloth and kitchen twine.
So cute every time you say "noodles" :)))
This is perfect for the always on the go employees, those individual always rushing to go to work early morning. Very practical, healthy and budget wise. Thank you in sharing.
Aww... ramen nooders. Your accent is so cute! 😍
Your cup ramen combination and presentation is the most appetizing one.
by the way you can put those jars in a pressure cooker for 10 to 15 minutes and you will have caned soup for months to years
PLZ don't try pressure canning this.
Your pronunciation of "noodles" is so cute.
Wow - what a vivacious person -loved your presentation and will be making my favourite ramen. Thank you for doing so absolutely fantastically.
I like this idea, but im worried about them being bland...
If you flavor the protein used, it won't be bland at all, and you can add multiple seasonings if you want to, these are just basic versions that people can start working with.
From experience, I personally would double or triple her flavouring amounts because noodles absorb flavour like a sponge. You could also try it at home first and then adjust it to your taste..
Zoe Doucette if you are making them at home you could add stock instead of water.
I added chicken oil.. chicken fat fried in oil.. not healthy I know but it'll make the taste more "chicken" than just chicken powder.
Wow..!!! This is a perfect solution for my running late college routines....,,,!! I am definitely giving this a try....love ya...,!!!
Just found your videos. This was great and informative. Thanks for showing us how it’s done
I love her. She's so happy and this was awesome.
I just made a batch of the spicy miso...SO GOOD. I'm very Southern USA American, so I was a little cautious, but I liked the restaurant versions of spicy miso.
I just had a jar of it on my lunch break and it was delicious and filling. Thank you so much for the idea!
My favorite variation I've made so far (it's a spicy miso with shrimp and krab):
- 1/4 tsp Dashi Stock Powder
- 1/4 tsp Gochujang Powder
- 1/4 tsp Chili Garlic Sauce
- 1/2 tsp Japanese Chicken Stock Powder
- 1/2 tsp White Miso Paste
- 1/2 tsp Red Miso Paste
- 1 cup Egg Noodles (al dente)
- Baby Bok Choy (half a leaf per jar)
- Shredded Carrot (less is more)
- Shitake Mushrooms (less is more)
- 1.5 oz Shrimp (cooked, deveined, tail off)
- 1.5 oz Krab (chunked works best, avoid shredded as it's too small and ends up disappearing into the broth)
- 1 stock Green Onion (chopped, whites up to greens)
- 1/2 Clove of Garlic (minced)
- 1 cup Boiling Water
I've found it's best to mix the base and tare in a small, separate container.
What a great idea. Just have to find the flavoring powder. Thanks Seonkyoung!
best DIY cup ramen video.

I'm going to set out the different sections and let the family choose how to make their own for dinner. How fun!
