"It was like yesterday when I was playing Castle of Illusion Starring Mickey Mouse on my Sega Genesis, when I got to the substage with the giant leaves, everything started to glitch out, when I jumped to get the star-like coin, everything froze with a LOUD BEEPING NOISE that blasted my ears for a few seconds until it stopped.
I didn't know what to do next, and then in a split second, the game abruptly shuts down and goes to a screen that says "The SEGA GENESIS is overheating. Power off the console, place it in a open, cool area, and refrain from restarting until it cools down. If the console overheats for a period of time it could damage it beyond repair."
I was really stupid to ignore it, so I rebooted the console, and in a few seconds when it rebooted, the message came back with the error code. I restarted it again, and when I went back with another game cartridge, the message "The SEGA GENESIS is overheating. If you want to play the game immediately, press the START button to proceed.", and then I did that.
Whenever I start playing Dr. Robotnik's Mean Bean Machine, the music starts to jumble, and then when I try to pop the yellow beans, the game freezes in an inverted frame and makes hammer-like noises, everything in the game freezes with the sound.
I had to hard reset my console, and then at time I booted up the console after the SEGA logo tries to form, the screen becomes gray and the logo becomes inverted except the outlines, and then in a few seconds, it began to scatter and glitch off which crashes the console with the same beeping noises when I was playing Castle of Illusion Starring Mickey Mouse, but it was high pitched and much worse than that, I had to wait 12 seconds before it finally stopped. It was followed by much worse, it was the same screen but even worse than before, it played an annoying beeping sound from a PSG and the text "This SEGA GENESIS is corrupted and is no longer in use". The SEGA logo and the text below it are now red and say, "PLEASE REMOVE THIS CONSOLE FROM THE INVENTORY".
Finally, the Genesis shuts down and the console explodes with a cloud of smoke, so I had to throw my broken console in the trash, give up on SEGA altogether, and go the Atari route after that.
‪@Ananas1234‬ - For the deep PSG beeping noises and some little video editing (THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THE HELP)
