Many nodes in Houdini already are multithreaded. But if you want to loop over things and process that in parallel, you will need to put a loop inside your compile block.
Thx for this tool, just a quick question I try to use Labs Straighten geometry node inside the compile block but no way, it's not working when I invoke. Thanks in advance for your help.
Hey, I have a question. as you said that python sop is not compile-able how does this work with python scripts in channels or houdini-module of an hda for instance? I also wonder if the invoke sop itself can also be part of a compiled loop.
Invoke SOP remained as mystery to me for so long. Thanks for this tutorial. I don't get the whole "No internal reference path" thing. Sometimes I have a setup with 20-30 references to a single attribute/parameter like seed and I have to create spare parameter in every node. Maybe I'm just too dumb haha. I like this workflow for experimental setups during RnD phase.
Pauuullll this is so useful, this will help me clear out so much spaghetti
Thank you for teaching me to be a better Houdini chef 👌
invoke is like a function (but in nodes). Like the Good Old "goSub". Another amazing tutorial. I wasnt aware of this workflow !
really good! easier than HDA for simple changes. thanks for the tip
Really impressive stuff, love learning new ways to do things in Houdini, thanks so much !!
Just used this today, thanks Paul, you're the man !
Super useful, thanks Paul
Nice one Paul, looking forward to this next level content! :P
Thanks Paul really good video
This is good stuff. Thank you.
great tutorial! thanks a lot
Started using `Reference Copy` for template mesh when re-topologizing, `Invoke` functionality should come in handy too. Thank you!
Awesome!!!!!
Great tip! Thanks!
Great tip! Thanks alot!
Good job. Great video, i like it 😊
thank you
Great, thank you.
Can you please show how to work with Invoke Compiled Graph which was introduced with Houdini 19. Thanks
Merci
anybody knows if there is a invoke node or workaround to LOPS ?
thank you, the nodes in compile block will be run in parallel? in other words does compile block need a for each loop to work in parallel?

Presumably it contains sub nodes that can't compile

Pooweeer :) thanks

My Houdini Don't have that Test Geometry Paul :(
Do you have Labs installed?
@@paulambrosiussen Ah Thanks I just Realised It was Not a Simple Test Geometry.
We need something wich also works with non-compilable nodes. Sure Hda.. but it's just not the quick and easy way.
I dont even know the node invoke is exist. Are you the god of Houdini ?
He's one of the creators, so you're not too far off. 🙂
Thank you
