    Defense played a huge part in these three SB wins. Top 15 defense in 2020, Top 20 defense in 2022, top 5 defense in 2023. I got to admit Spags did an excellent job in the second half of all of these games. Gave up 10 points in that second half. Gave up 11 points in the second half, and then gave up 12 points in XIII. 3rd quarter: Didn’t give up a single point. 3 of 12 on third down. That played a point in the win. If Mahomes gets getting these top 5 defenses, he can easily gain on Brady. In two of the Super Bowls, the offense was very creative. It was potent, and it had receivers that can catch the ball. In 2023, Chiefs had to make adjustments in playoffs. The offense is better without Toney.

    Purdy 3 of 12 on 3rd down.. Is not Good....

    • @oubrioko
      @oubrioko 2 месяца назад

      That was Shanahan's doing. First three 49ers possessions of the 2nd half ...three consecutive three and outs including the one off a Mahomes interception in KC territory. He literally had the Offensive Player of the Year who is a 2000 yard rusher, along with Deebo Samuel, and what did he call? 9 plays: 1 run, and 8 passes, resulting in three punts. Spagnuolo _knew_ that he could come after Purdy on 3rd down because K-Shan put Purdy behind the chains/sticks. The game ended with 39 passes and 30 runs by SF. It didn't have to be this way. Kyle has lost _three super bowls_ as a play-caller: All with a double digit lead early on, all with a lead in the 4th quarter, yet somehow - he develops this aversion to running the ball late in the game despite having the ideal personnel to do it. Even if it gets stuffed half of the time, at least the game clock is moving, and he could have limited the possessions of Brady and Mahomes to rally and beat him.

    This is similar to Tiger Woods trying to match & surpass Jack Nicklaus in golf major wins - by year 2000, everyone thought Tiger was young & ahead in majors played/majors won ratio (compared to Jack), until injuries happened and many rivals manned up (Phil Mickelson, mainly), new younger rivals came in (Jordan Speith, Brooks Koepka)...and Tiger's numerous personal issues.

It will put him far, far ahead of Brady in valuable accomplishments, especially when you factor in Mahomes has only lost a SB to the great Tom Brady, while Brady (on an unbeaten super team) lost to Eli Manning, then did it again AND lost to Nick Foles. Really downgrades his SB status in comparison to Mahomes if he 3peats.
