Goldlink comes through with an album of rap-singing that's seriously hard to stomach.

GOLDLINK - AND AFTER THAT, WE DIDN'T TALK / 2015 / SOULECTION / JAZZ RAP, POP RAP, HIP HOUSE, CONTEMPORARY R&B
2/10
Y'all know this is just my opinion, right?
damnnn I thought this album was dope as hell lol
+TheThirdPew lmfao i thought so too and this nigga gave it a 2
+TheThirdPew Love you
+TheThirdPew Same I thought it was better than a 2 haha I'm still gonna listen to it though
Ivan Kovacevich Yes
+TheThirdPew It is dope, baldthony has a phobia of singing rappers so he gave it a 2...
i cant be the only one who really likes this album
+shadowperson guy You're not.
+shadowperson guy I really enjoyed it
+shadowperson guy nope. AOTY to me
codeinecrvzy He isn't.
I do 🙋🙌🙌
A bit more than halfway through this album at the moment and I have to say I'm actually enjoying it. That's it, I have come to the conclusion that Fantano and I will never see eye to eye on anything hip hop/R&B related unless it's a Kendrick Lamar project.
+Fedzi for real, same here except with a few other projects. I really enjoyed this project. :/ Won't make me change my opinion tho
It's a good record. Anthony be crazy.
+Lunar Orbit he was talking about an R&B infused hip hop album, not an R&B OR a hip hop album.
***** Umm, all I said is that we don't see eye to eye on many projects. The projects I tend to think are great, he usually thinks are not so great, and vice versa. I never once talked shit about him for not agreeing with my opinions. Jeez, calm down. And I don't know why you're talking about him giving albums 7 and 8's. Did you ever stop to think that maybe I didn't agree with those scores either? C'mon man, reading comprehension is important.
Willem Goff No, I was talking about hip hop OR R&B. Sorry that wasn't clear.
the album was fire .... smh i think it wasnt a fair review ...hes far from any of the dudes that raps and sing ... he esepcally no where like chance the rapper.... this album was dedicated to a lost love and its very pop ish yes but it was unique in his own way ....
Plus Goldlink's style is popish/dance music-esque in general. This review is crazy wrong
+Tha Silver-Haired Gawd His review is wrong? Look at the desc pls
"Y'all know this is just my opinion, right?"
Toastie Toasterton lmaoooo i know that but im still gonna call out something i dont agree with.
+Anakin Flow I'm listening to it now, and I generally like Goldlink's music. But my one gripe about him, is that a lot of his cadences and flows are similar to Chance. Very, very similar. Listen to Track #2 "Zipporah" and then listen to pretty much anything on Acid Raps. It would be really hard to say you can't hear the similarities. lol.
Eira Heartzeil but thats with any artist of course you gonna something a lil similar i feel chance candences is similar to andre benjimen ......... you can hear similarities with bryson tiller tory lanes with drake but they all are different in they own way ..and also chance been out longer than him but hes no way like or imitating chance hes on his own wave ......
"Fetty Wap sounds great"
"GoldLink is unbearable"
Anthony Fantano y'all.
This is a perfect example of how music is subjective, what appeals to one person might be considered trash by others. Personally this album BANGS! Not all artists are lyrically gifted which is obviously what Anthony Fantano is all about.
His least favorite was Dance on Me, he called most of Goldlink's style of singing *and* the instrumental to Unique "horrific", and we're just gonna let this slide?
+Uryon Adams i served justice
GoldLink is stupidly talented in my opinion, this album doesn't define him.
I didn't really feel you on the vocal cracking critique. This album was really addicting. In an era with Lil Yachty's and Uzi's, this album was refreshing as hell.
Who else came here to re-watch Melon destroy Goldlink after what he said about Mac Miller? lmao
Me ! The occasion for me to hit the like-button for this review by melon-boy
Dirtlink is the dick
You are so wrong about this Anthony
lol he can't really be wrong, it's his opinion. Respect it.
+Tauren110 fair enough, but when his opinion turns into bashing of one of my favorite newer artists, then I get a bit angry lol
+Matt W i've gotten used to it lol
+luke.gear No they can't because its his opinion not yours. Why so hostile.
luke.gear no they fucking can't you moron, how fucking dumb are you? apart of what makes an opinion an opinion is that they can't be wrong, only different. An opinion isn't like a math equation.
Did he just compare Goodlink to Chance the Rapper? They both have totally different styles, and you obviously don't know what you're talking about.
Do a review of the new Justin Bieber album
Noooooo!!!!!!!!!
***** his voice is worse than godlink's voice
+Ahmed Sayed But the singles from his album were fantastic
+Ahmed Sayed cringe
This. That Travis Scott colab it's dope
A 2/10 is a bit harsh tbh
This album was great as fuck ion know what ya'll heard...
If you like gold link you will like this album.
If you liked Wave[s] You will like this album.
Less rapping than wave[s] and more house influenced.
Its a great relaxed listen.
If you don't like this upbeat wave of hiphop you won't like it.
6/10 for me.
Word
+Threesixted Yung You're telling me you liked the song "Your Love" off of Wave[s] and hated every joint on this project?
+Threesixted Yung Then you used the word hate incorrectly...
Word. Music is not supposed to be discussed like this you're right. My bad g.
A proper review
I thought this album was amazing and the vocals were great...would have given it a strong 8
Damn a 2 well GoldLink got a lot of work to do but I believe he got potential just has to work hard at it
+Sean Ulloa Top 3 AOTY
King Polo U like the album
Sean Ulloa yes thats why I said top 3 AOTY
King Polo not on my top 5 let alone top 3 maybe top 20
Sean Ulloa out
who is this adult baby on my screen
"And I just can't take his music serious he's never featured Kendrick on any of his songs"
this dude is really absurd. this album is straight fire. bye.
worst rap record of 2015 y'all
I just hope he can recover his fans are gonna cry tho lol
Next to Professional Rapper and Cherry Bomb.
+Ricardo Valladares Professional Rapper wasn't bad at all, especially for a comedy album.
+TheHippityhopmusic1 Professional Rapper was a comedy album? Huh...
Nah that's logic
how can you say hes a bootleg chance the rapper, he doesnt even sound like him, nothing to compare, only notable song that can relate to his music is down on my luck by vic mensa
Fucking Gambino'd, tragic...I'm pissed
+colinies You mean Miley'd/Lil Dicky'd
+Superiorcyrex but Miley trash tho......
Lol I think her album was kinda good from a musical standpoint. But her lyrics are literal trash. She needs a person to be her lyric filter or something
But I'm saying Etherny Takeovertano went the fuck in on both of them
Wow you really went the fuck in!!! Who hurt you?? Lmao
I loved the album :) made me dance it's a groove thing
Review Justin Bieber's "Purpose"
i like dark skinned women
i don't understand how you think goldlink has bad singing vocals, but you like young thug? haha that doesn't even make sense.
He likes young thug?
Exactly!! It kind of makes sense doe..that just shows he doesn't know what real talent is..lol But were all entitled to our own opinions :)Carry ON !!
@@nesechejones2643 ehh young thugs voice is far more interesting thank you very much
This album is amazing, this is the one review I'm completely not on-board with but everyone has their opinions
Yo Anthony you should review the new Ty Dolla $ign album, Free TC. It's not just club bangers and radio songs like he used to make. It's actually go diversity, and I think I could see you enjoying it
And it's got ya boy Kendrick Lamar on it...
*****
usually I'd say the same, but there's actually real instruments (like guitars and strings) and singing on the album. It's way different than what you'd usually hear from him.
+drumd00d thats actually what alot of his work sounds like... you just hear him on alot of bangers and assume thats all he does
fabijo
But I just said this album isn't full of bangers...
In my honest opinion i think this album deserves at least a 7. Goldlink is a genius at what he does and yes he might sound different but its a good different that some people sadly cant understand.
You would give a 7 to a genius?
Saying people "can't understand" his genius sounds like a cop out defense
Hmmm . People do you honestly HONESTLY think goldlink sounds horrible while singing ? IMO he is one of the better singing rappers out there. Def tolerable for a rapper
Album was fire, I went through same things with my ex so I can relate. Anthony sounding like a hater about his voice. I play Dark Skin Women at parties and women jam.
If melon had rhythm he’d like this album
didn't hear Chance the Rapper at all in this album
I respect Famthony Bruhtano but he and I disagree here. I really, really enjoyed this album.
this whole thing reeks of hate lmfao..i’ve heard rappers sing much, much worse
"Believe me, that title excites me"
Fucking 10/10
LOGIC: The Incredible True Story, inbound! LETS-HONY GO-TANO!
Let it breathe first
+DraYzey keep that trash
+Kraken Da Daddy hey chill out, Quit hating and move on.
It's trash tho.
Im actually shocked. i thought it was a very refreshing and unique album. one of my tops for 2015. And I absolutely love "Dark Skin Women". To each their own!
I have never heard of Goldlink until now and immediately had a distaste for this rapper because Anthony doesn't like this new album so I went looking up singles and feel that he's a pretty good rapper with catchy music. This is the thing with Anthony Fucktano. If he hates it it's probably good and if he likes it the chances are the album will probably suck. Like when he said that the new Earl Sweatshirt album wasn't that good or snoop dogg's bush album but he gives great reviews for stupid experimental shit like Shlohmo and Prurient. He's burned out and doing WAY TOO MANY reviews and doesn't realize if "Like any job" you listen to too much you take the magic out of the record. I get he does his gimmick at the end of "Did you love it, did you hate it." but the majority of his fans will i'm sure take his word for it. Do yourself a favor and listen to whatever he hates because it's probably going to rock your world.
Review Logic's new album anthonyyy fantanoooooo nowwwww
+Carlos Hernandez Expect to be disappointed. He's going to give it a 4 or 5 out of 10, just watch.
+Nathan Jackson naw you got it all wrong, everyone doubt logic just cause he's white?, cause he's not as hard as other rappers?? Logic is bringing something new to the table that no others rapper have done to backup my opinion is lets get started on how real he is , he's shows real love to his fans , he went to go visit hundreds of fans and show them the album and even chill and munch on some food with them, no other rapper has done that
+Mafia Cortez J Cole did it; I personally loved the album I agree with Nathan tho. Anthony is gonna either hate it or love it.
+Nathan Jackson i personally thought this album was better than his previous
+Carlos Hernandez 1/10
Review "T R A P S O U L"
He did on his other channel
+Larry Bolin literally cut my eyes just looking at all the edginess
+Larry Bolin cringe
Axiaon I cringe at the comment that someone actually listens to that simp's music
Larry Bolin repetitive insults.. your by the book I bet you stole that to..
and his voice and flow is actually pretty nice in my opinion especially in comparison to some of the peoples albums who he gave better ratings too
Do our suggestions have to be recent? Are there genres you dont particularly like listening to? Because there's a Norwegian power metal band called Triosphere that I've been obsessed with. Their 2010 album "The Road Less Traveled" is one of the most amazing metal alums I've ever heard, but maybe I'm easily impressed. It'd be really awesome if you gave this album a listen. It's one of my favorites of all time.
*facepalm*.....Fantano, you really be tripping sometimes man. You are too much of a computer bro, you can't say Goldlink's joint didn't have you hype af at times, thinking, reflecting, and feeling good. He not biting Chance, he original AF. The way you give these reviews turns hella ppl off ESPECIALLY when their hip hop projects lol. But seriously????!!!! A 2!?!?!?!
Disappointed by the rating, his sound is refreshing to me
Holy fuck 2 records on display now, completely new dynamic.
I hope that people aren't completely turned off to Goldlink simply because of this review. Be open-minded, and please give it a listen anyway.
damn famdingo why'd you do him like that
I want you to review the new boots album but at the same time I don't because I really don't wanna break my phone if you end up giving that album anything less than a "strong 7 to a light 8"
please review T.I.T.S.
It just came out bruh
***** the incredible true story
0:34 "Cues Rich Homie Quan - Type of Way"
How many times does he listen to an album before he reviews it. This album will grow on you
If you like the project, continue to listen to it regardless of what people say. If not, then dump it. Simple 🤷🏾♂️
I also was confused with how the two first tracks sounded out of place during the rest of the album. it felt more like a mixtape than an album.
I think 2 is a bit too low tbh. I rated this a 6. The production is pretty unique and his rapping is pretty good too.
"The And After That, We Didn’t Talk project is like getting really drunk one night and thinking a lot. You start saying shit that you wouldn’t say if you weren’t drunk. It was coming from a drunk standpoint, as far as the content and how true it is." -- Goldlink
Anthony, I hope your records facing out on top of the shelf don't fall down one day. I had my copy of Cure's Disintegration LP sitting that way and somehow made it fall with my footsteps. Totally caved in the spine and the record cut through the printed sleeve. Be careful, man!
Revisiting this album, i 80% agree. Not a 2 but like this shit was majorly over hyped.
Alright Anthony, I think you should review an album by underground rapper named Chuuwee called the South Sac Mack. Production by JR & PH7 is fantastic and Chuuwee really has a great flow as he kinda tells his story growing up in South Sacramento. If you want to hear someone new and on the come up, I think you would really enjoy it so please consider it. Thanks
dude you're harsh lol. I didn't like the album either (still like the artist tho) but a 2? lmao.
This album was lit
Bro his voice is original and his sound is raw, I agree Chance is better but Goldlink is an amazing artist with a pimps mentality, his album is dope...
Dude, how you not going to mention the production on the album though? The producer lineup was A1 even if you weren't keen on the vocals
Review Justin biebers new album. I used to hate Justin, but I surprisingly enjoyed his new album.
This album was pretty good, but it doesn't follow the story line that it's intended to show at the beginning. It's great none the less, and I thought the vocals were pretty decent. I especially like his fast paced flows when he's rapping, and I guess the singing isn't the best probably because it's sort of still a new thing for him
Dance on me is your least favorite tack. 2/10. Holy shit man, I really enjoyed this album, but well... damn that's your opinion.
How do you praise Future and say Goldlink's singing is unbearable? LOL I obviously disagree with this review, but I do see some of your points. I did like God Complex more than this album, but it's not that bad. I still enjoy it.
Damn, Trapthony Thugtano tossed this album into the bushes. Straight savage.
Damn, a 2. I thought was a 9 at the least. Dude is like a fusion of what Childish Gambino and Chris Brown together would sound like. To me anyway....respect.
The new Justin Bieber album coming soon?
biggest bs ever, his flow was tops, his raps were relevant and meaningful and the production was incredible, he's pushing his own style don't box him in with others
AND AFTER THAT, WE DIDN'T TALK was a great album. Had to unsubscribe SMH
Still no Year of the Savage review.
Watch yunoreview October
Zach Watts Ah came out 3 days ago. Last time I checked for a yunoreview was about 3-4 weeks ago
this guy gave Wolf a 6 i have officially stopped trusting his opinion without a second opinion completely like i used to.
Tired of ppl comparing new age rappers to chance. Sang a little bit to much, but really good album despite. Get the fuck out of here
Anthony's dry sense on humor and corny jokes are the funniest
I think New Black was the best track on the album. I find Goldlink enjoyable most of the time, but his last album was better.
Literally every rapper with a spastic flow or who raps nasally is "biting chance's style" according to anthony
wow this hurt man tbh
Wtf who the hell is this dude??? Goldlink is THE SHIT!!! Hes so underated. He has the dopest flow
You may want to do something to that green screen behind you, it's not looking too hot.
Maybe its the lighting, your latest videos do seem an awful lot brighter.
gold link is a good singer u need to check them ear's bih
"Y'all know this is just my opinion, right?"
Man Goldlink is one of the most talented artist out. This is way better than most of the bullshit rap out right now.
Hey fantani goldlink dropped a project a few days ago, from what i heard i thought it was refreshing but familiar to the 90s. So i looked to see if u reviewed his music before i groove to this guys music. Found this 2/10 review, my brother you dropped the ball on this one. Check out his new project, he deserves more exposure than a lil yachty or uzi.
I don't think you have ever reviewed prog metal/math metal group Intronaut before but I think you should give their new album ' The Direction Of Last Things' a listen and possibly review it :)
you went to the barber and said "let me get a crop circle"
If you read IceJJfish's twitter it doesn't sound like he's trolling. He genuinely thinks he has an amazing voice.
why two albums on the shelf???????????? why??????????????????????? stop!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Review > Anna Von Hausswolff - The Miraculous. Saw them live last night and was blown away.
Justin Bieber's album >>>>>>>>>>>> Logics trash album
I've been refreshing his video feed every couple hours waiting for Incredible True Story.
Hey Anthony, when you will review the naruto openings????
I'm calling it now, logic's new album will get a 8/10
You know ur bad when anthony gives u the same rating as Lil Dicky lmao
I don't even have to like or listen to the music you review to love your videos. Your attitude and editing never fail to crack me up.
TWO records displayed on the shelf! Antjony! TWO
