I made this today with round steak. When I added the corn starch to thicken the gravy I drained a can of water chestnuts . It was delicious. The water chestnuts added an extra crunch. Thanks for sharing.

Cube steak makes it budget worthy for an easy crockpot recipe. My mom used flank steak (now a more expensive cut) but I like this cube steak idea for a slow cooker Monday.

Thanks for r sharing this recipe. We had a wonderful Chinese restaurant in our town years ago that had the best tasting pepper steak ever. I've been trying to figure out the sauce recipe for 15 yrs. It didn't taste like any other pepper steak in other Chinese restaurants, perhaps it was americanized? 😆 I think I could have eaten a whole pot of the sauce over some rice.. something tells me, I'll never figure it out.. 😢 I'm gonna give this recipe a try, though. We had a bakery that made a particular brownie that I've been experimenting with trying to figure out too. My mom and I still dream of those dang brownies.🙄 🤣

Looks delicious…..if you add your peppers with your slurry during the last 20-30 minutes of cooking they will still be slightly crisp and not mushy
True. Or at least not stir peppers into meat at the beginning. Peppers fine on top of meat intact, at least until the slurry.

I sear my steak before slicing it...less fuss. If you let it sit for 15 minutes before slicing, you don't lose any of the juices.
