R.I.P. Brendan Grace. 1951 - 2019. He had his fun. That's all that matters.
A true comedian legend 🇮🇪
Absolutely legend
I will always remember when I am crossing the road to know the code!
Lovely tribute with the classic quote 👍👌
For some historical context, the divorce referendum was happening in ireland while this show was being written. Massive church backlash. Also worth remembering divorce was illegal in the earlier episodes when John and Mary are trying to kill eachother.
didnt even know that even more layers to the show now
@@Fireglo Well said.
"Did you say father Larry Duff was coming?"
"God, I'd better give him a call"
*Oh no, no leave Larry alone!*
Hahaha, you're learning, man :D.
I met Brendan Grace in the airport a few years back and I was talking to him about Father Stack. He did his "ya dirty fecker" line. This role for Brendan is the complete opposite as he's renowned as a clean comedian, his shows were very family friendly. So for Irish people to see him like this was a shock but fantastic. That's why it was voted number 1 because of Brendan Grace. Poor Brendan Grace died last year which was very sad. I love this episode too, but my favourite by far is the Tentacles of Doom with the three Bishops.
Honestly father ted is a more strikingly realistic depiction of Ireland than you could possibly imagine
'Flight into Terror' would be a good next episode to react to.
Yes mate!
Rest in peace, the actors who played father Ted, father Jack and father Stack.
This man has a sense of humour. Seen some other Americans reacting to father ted and they had the driest reaction I've ever seen in me life lol. Good stuff man, keep it up 👌
Episode suggestion: "The Mainland"
True
What county you from
Ireland my man. The Name and picture might be a giveaway lol
@@Brandon_B2000 I said which county not country 😂
@@Brandon_B2000 I know in Ireland but what county 😂🍀
The "drink!" priest at 21:21 is Declan Mulholland, who played Jabba the Hutt in the original cut of Star Wars. Lucas animated the monster version on top of him for the scene included in the Special Edition.
A Belfast sounding Jabba would have been odd.
@@Transmission_Rory Have a look for yourself: ruclips.net/video/cw1gkNd6Z_8/видео.html
JeremyPhillips1981 I’ve seen the clip before. It gives to new meaning to the line “you’re a wonderful human being Jabba”
Another great episode of Father Ted. Highlights for me were Jack trying to get away on the lawnmower and him running over Ted. 🤣
Also, rest in peace, Brendan Grace (Father Fintan Stack). Who sadly passed away last year.
How did they do the car running over stunt??
Sh00k up Ricola I imagine they used a stunt-double and trained professionals. It was great how they pulled it off.
RIP Brendan Grace. My favourite of all the “guest priests” on Father Ted
“We’re all gonna to heaven lads WaaaHeyyyyy”
My favourite line in the whole series!
I was in a band called "Father Stack" for a wee while, we didn't do jungle music though...
Ah but did you drill holes in the wall
Even hitler didn’t do jungle music
You had your fun and that's all that matters
He was the guy who wrote the parody song Ive got a brand new combine harvester that the Worzels had a hit with.
I know a guy who's a priest in Northern Ireland. He had his 25th anniversary of becoming a priest. Two bishops came along for the celebration which including singing hymns from the bible rap style while the bishops did a conga around the dance floor. Fun times. 😁
I had the pleasure of meeting Brendan Grace. (Father Stack). Funniest side character on the show and impersonated his character. He was a gentleman. RIP
I listened to Ardal O Hanlon on Tommy Tiernan and he considers throwing the boot in during the credits is one of his favourite memories from the show. I agree completely 😊
Hope you're doing ok. I love this channel cos it makes me feel less lonely 😊
Ha! I know what you mean. You're watching a programme with someone and bouncing off their presence.
Same here 😊
Maybe do the Easter episode "Cigarettes and Alcohol and Rollerblading" next
"It's beginning to kick in Ted!"
I was thinking he should've done that one lol
@@EmmaCRBsnewstuff or you could do the xmas special
@@adamstamps3568 he's already done it
And the Sheep episode from the 2nd season.
He probably became a priest the same way Dougal did, by collecting 12 crisp packets lol
Probably also the same way the young priest who hangs out with Frosty became one
What an amazing man Brendan Grace was, & ofcourse all the others. Just hilarious. R.I.P. Brendon.
I would have loved to have seen what Mrs Doyle’s reaction would have been if someone asked for coffee
Damn, that could easily have been put in
I really shouldn't be here
"I've had my fun and that's all that matters"
Best line ever.....
This is like low key best way to watch father Ted episodes online 😂
My favorite episode of the series. When I saw the episode? I went to an Irish bar where one of my friends worked as an bartender. I watched the reboardcast with my friend. The patrons of Irish descent got a shock and a few laughs.
Father Ted is one of my all time favourite shows! Thank you for reacting to them. Oh and also, you've picked the perfect time to react to this episode, what with quarantine, self-isolation, and COVID 19 around the world. An episode about an infection is fitting during this time. The operative episode to watch. How about 'The Mainlands' next?
I know in an episode Ted asks Dougal if he became a priest because of a contest. The contest involved collecting twenty packets of crisps.
Brendan Grace's delivery is fantastic here, especially when Ted's friends are around. His stand up was fantastic too. A personal favourite was his joke about the Chinese Take aways.
18:24 That tune is by DJ Taktiks, and is called "The Way." (VIP Remix.) 😄
"Think Fast, Father Ted" is an underappreciated classic. Easily top 5 for me.
"Chirpy Burpy Cheap Sheep" is also fantastic.
I can’t wait till you watch the night of the nearly dead episode 😅
Oohhhh yes
"This one here smells of wee"
Oh a huge dig at wee Daniel o'Donnell 🤣🤣🤣🤣 I could have you killed 🤣🤣🤣🤣
"I've no willy."
@@smayds you got there before me 😂
Fintan Stack was played by a comedian called Brendan Grace. You should check out his "Father of the Bride" sketch
In one of Father Trendy's(One of Dermot Morgan's characters) sermons, he says 'We all need a bit less Brendan and a bit more Grace' 😁
Jack passed the Priest's Bar Test; he drank it dry
There is an episode when Father dougal said to Father Ted 'you don't actually believe in all that being crucified and coming back from the dead do you?' Ted replied yes I do, how did you actually become a priest, did you save up 12 crisps (potato chips) packets? It sounds more funny in the show.
That was in Series 1 episode 6 called Grant Unto Him Eternal Rest
My advice is to not think about the "how"s or "why"s too much when watching a Graham Linehan comedy xD
Yes, that's like asking why so many different people look like Alexi Sales on the Young Ones.
One thing I will say Noah. Before you watch the episode The Mainland’. S3E4. You need to watch an episode of ‘One Foot In The Grave’ else you won’t get the Character or the running joke in that episode. Otherwise you should be fine.
Father Ted has been around for ages. Where have people been. Best show ever.
Can’t beat father ted
Brendan Grace ( Fr Stack ) was one of the nicest guys. An old fashioned stand up gag man. Watch his routine "father of the bride" done in the best Foster Brooks tradition
How did Father Stack become a priest. Same way Dougal did, via the Collect twelve crisp packets and become a priest competition.
At first glance the painting behind Father Jack looks like there's a windsurfer on it, but it's a slice of toast stuck to it.
22:36 I always thought why father Stack is reacting like that.
Five years later I finally know.
He's got the hairy hands as well 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂👍👍👍👍
"Think about the show logically for a second" yeah, you don't do that with Father Ted 😁
haha that was exactly what I thought when he said that
"Limb by limb" by Cutty Ranks DJ SS remix in case anyone wants Ft. Stacks jams
Larry is like kenny from South Park.
10:31 when he put on the jungle that had me creasing
Hi Noah, as you said, I can`t think of a bad episode of this program. This was another fun one & we got Mrs. Doyle as determined as ever, even if she has to use cue cards. The elderly priest wolf-men, was hilarious in itself.
I'd love to see your reaction to Flight Into Terror or The Mainland next, but to be honest I love them all. Keep up the good work :)
I think Father Jack on the lawnmower is a reference to the country singer George Jones. It was alleged that his wife, Tammy Wynette hid all the car keys to stop him driving into town to go to bars so he took the lawnmower and was stopped by the police on the highway for being drunk in charge of a vehicle.
I cant wait for you to review the episode with Gemma Craven as the author who comes to visit Craggy Island and Ted develops a bit of a crush on her. It also contains Mrs Doyle's finest moment describing her books.
Neilyman Adventures GET YOUR BOLLOCKS OUT OF MY FACE!!!
Johnny Vegas (bloke from monkey juice advert) went to priest school but left after 4 terms from being homesick. You should watch him in "Ideal"... very amusing sitcom about a low-class weed dealer in Salford, Greater Manchester.
I can't remember if you've seen The Mainland yet, but it's a fantastic episode. You need to have seen One Foot In The Grave before you watch it though
I don't think he's seen it. It's one of my favorite episodes.
Absolutely love father ted & your reactions you make it better you funny
"Bye, girls!! Pair of wankers"
I love watching your Father Ted reactions video's
Are you aware that Graham Linehan is responsible for Father Ted, is also responsible for IT Crowd? The man has some seriously strong sitcom hits under his belt
And Count Arthur Strong. Which I enjoy anyway.
The person playing Father Stack recently just passed away
Mr Brendan Grace. A Comedy Legend.
Father stack is played by brendan grace who sadly died lastvyear. A very good standup charachter comedian. He impressed frank sinatra so much he brought him back to las Vegas. Probably his most famous charachter is 'bottler' a drunken schoolboy.
I can't speak for the Catholics, but for the C of E you usually need a Masters in Theology to then apply for training as a priest, the upon graduating you serve as a curate for a couple of years under a qualified priest, and then you get your own parish, I think. I'm no expert.
OMG this brings back so many good memories growing up watching father ted!
Brendan Grace who plays father stack he passed away last year
RIP Brendan Grace, he was a right laugh.
Glad you reacted to this one. Good memorable performance as Father Fintin Stack from the late great Dublin comedian Brendan Grace (who would have been 70 on April Fool's Day).
How about 'Rock-a-hula Ted' next?
How do you become a priest.....After you complete seminary, a bishop can ordain you into the Catholic ministry. You will first serve as a deacon for at least six months. After this service, you may be ordained as a diocesan priest serving a parish or other local area; or take vows and live in a religious community, and be part of "father Ted sitcom.
My guess is Father Stack knew a bishop who ordained him as a priest in hopes he’d become a better person if he was closer to god
@@mrcritical6751 lol. and did that help?
@@orionstar6747 probably made him worse seeing how a majority of the priests seen in Father Ted are middle aged to elderly men who’d be terrified to stand up to him
through the seminary usually you need a degree to become a priest
You go to a seminary for about 7 years to become a priest
I must be knocking on, because I seem to be the only person who ever gets the reference to Bob Dylan in Mrs. Doyle's flash cards... check out 'Subterranean homesick blues', probably one of the first pop videos.
How you become a priest ----- In an early episode it is explained that in a family the favourite brother became a doctor and the idiot brother was sent to the priesthood.
============ Old Grey whistle theft or Burpy burpy cheap sheep are great episodes
Ted's brother was a doctor wasn't he?
A priest that loves jungle music 😂😂
Greatest show ever made
"I really shouldnt be here" XD
12:49 - 12:58 should be a meme template
React to one called 'competition time' with the laughing priest and the three stages of elvis. It's one of the best.
The Plague is a great one. Great bit with Father Jack and Bishop Brennan in it.
Absolutely there's no rush you've all the time in the world but do you plan on reacting to all the episodes of father ted?
Yeah I'll be doing an episode a month until I finish it.
@@taffe316 that's awesome man looking forward to them pretty much every episode is brilliant in my opinion
Ah Brendan what a great comedian and singer rip
You might also enjoy watching the vicar of dibley, if you haven't already watched any of it🙂🖒
I second that! Vicar of Dibley is an interesting contrast to Father Ted in that it deals with a female protestant vicar but equally as funny, recommend you give it a go 👍
He's done the christmas lunch episode. full list on the stuff noah has done thread on the reddit link in the description
@@johnnyboro8610 'Equally as funny'? No accounting for taste, I suppose..
@@tbone35453 Hold my hands up, that was maybe said in the heat of the moment 😂 Vicar of Dibley is funny but not on the same level as Father Ted, but not many shows are or probably ever will be
Post Modern Familiars don't like it.
There are priest schools with priest exams. My Dad is a (non-Catholic) clergyman and I spent my teen years living in a college that trained clergy.
Noah how you become priest is first period of privet prayers and vocation weekends to parish. Then you meet Bishop after he agrees you go to School with other guys which is just for people who want to become priests and while you there you learn and study for roughly 7 years. Then you get ordained. That short answer love this show can’t wait for next episode.
This and "Hell" are my favourite episodes.
I recommend 'Think Fast Father Ted', it's my favourite episode, I think it's the one with the boring priest rambling at the end, 'what's your favourite humming noise' lol
Still waiting for the next Fr Ted vid 🥺😴💒🇮🇪
It'll be the on the 14th.
I like these videos the First series the passion of st tibulus bishop brennan makes his debut
This is the best the uk has produced for the last 20 years. You may endulge in “ bottom” at some point.
Christopher Wheatley Bottom is not in this league
Kristina Winter , I take it you agree with the first part thou.
You should try and watch "My Hero" the show is basically Dougal (Ardal O'Hanlon) being a superhero.
Series 1 and 2 were the best, before they had the kid. Mrs Raven is fantastic
Have you reacted to Speed 3 with Pat Mustard? So hilarious 😂😂😂
Mrs Doyle Dancing with plaque to jungle music cards saying go On gets me everytime xd. Also if anyone wants the song played in this epsiode its here >>> ruclips.net/video/OxcvVdIgyBA/видео.html
Is it not yet time for taffe316 enter the Tubes of You rabbit hole that is ........GAME OF MOBILE HOMES ?
Like the Bob Dylan bit
Incase you are wondering, the song is limb by limb- cutty ranks (DJ SS remix)
Thanks for these vids.
They go to Priest's school I think and learn how to look good in black .... Seriously its sad to think Brendan Grace and Dermot Morgan have passed to wonderful talents
Please do "The Old Grey Whistle Theft" episode next
Christopher James Feck off 😂👍🏻✌🏻️
The song is "Cutty Ranks - Limb by Limb (DJ SS Remix)" btw
Also, do the episode "Burpy Chirpy Cheap Sheep" - best episode ever!
Here is a boring bit of trivial for you! I didn't have much to do a few nights ago so decided to look up the IMDB of the actor that originally played Jabba the Hutt in the edited out scenes from Star Wars: A New Hope, turns out he is one of the actors playing priests in the care home near the end XD
Yaaay! Father Ted reaction! 😀👍
Rock a hula Ted is a classic especially the lovely girls contest 😂also chirpy burpy cheap sheep episode....... Priceless
At the end of the episode:
“Let’s think about this logically”
Lmao 😂
One of my favourite episodes 😆
omg takes me back used to love this show so so bloody funny
