    In America just the cost of being transported to the trauma unit via helicopter will cost between 10,000 to 50,000 dollars. We are not talking about any actual medical costs from Hospitals, doctors, tests, etc..... If you have a "desire" or "need" to get into a traumatic accident and need a helicopter lift, then try to do it outside the US!!!! I saw one of these shows where they were transporting a serial fake patient, and even after the 4th time in a month they still let him go. In America that guy would be arrested immediately for endangering the first responders lives..... Thanks for posting, these guys/women are hero's!!!!

    Firstly, I want to say that these pilots are really impressive. Landing in the conditions they do and on the terrains that they do. Secondly, and I've said it before. I watch these rescue shows here in the States and I've never seen such comprehensive care. The tent, pain meds on scene, the manpower. I've never seen such a thing here in the US. It's really interesting, and also makes me envious haha I have nothing but horror stories when dealing with emergencies here in the US and a lot of my friends can say the same.

      The system in the US pales in comparison. Imagine getting and giving help in these situations without money as an issue. I am envious and sad that the USA is money driven.

    • @persephoneblack888
      @persephoneblack888 3 месяца назад

      @cjbailey584 It really is insane to see the difference. Imagine the amount of casualties we could avoid if we had roadside pre-care like this? We could even reduce long term complications for people because they're gettinf treatment sooner rather than later. My mom has a TBI she still hasn't recovered from because of EMS and hospital negligence.

Have yet to (and hopefully never will) hit a tree, so I don't know, however I have been in an accident involving (I think, don't remember as this happened in I wanna say 2009 or 2010 when I was a small kid going to kindergarten) a drunk driver. Again, I don't know, but it happened in Russia, and I am going to assume it was a drunk guy cus he was going pretty damn fast. It sucked.

    This is so cool to me. Because in this show it seems only the doctors can administer certain meds like Ketamine. But in the US, paramedics carry it and administer it. I just found that one difference particularly interesting because I recently had Ketamine while in the hospital with severe pain. I think it should only be used by doctors, in a controlled setting. I had a bad reaction to it so it scares me to think that could happen to someone without the adequate tools to help them.
    I went completely unresponsive, got super sick and could not breathe well. I also could not stop getting sick but I was unresponsive so my gag reflex wasn’t present. I remember about 10 people checking in on me every couple of minutes or so. Everything else is a blur.

      I think there are several reasons the techniques were different. For one the terrain on the mountain bike trail was simply more treacherous for the rescuers themselves so they would have been moving more carefully both for the patient's sake and so as not to slip down the slope themselves. Also, the mountain biker had no airway or breathing problems, but the motorcyclist appeared to be in respiratory distress which - although a spinal injury is obviously serious - would generally require a much more urgent response.

      Yeah, so I had a spinal cord injury a couple months ago, when I was in my school's weight training room I rotated wrong and fractured my back. a piece of bone punctured my spinal cord, and I couldn't feel my left leg at all. I was told that it was normal for me to be able to move most or all of my extremities after a spinal cord injury because It depends on the type/severity/where it is.

If someone gets into a car crash, gets saved and goes back on the road, or if they fall off a horse, get saved and still sit back, do you think they should pay for next time too?
