Watching this video is a reminder that the Cherokee XJ is more than just a vehicle; it's a lifestyle.

the front was an F350 D60 shortened and changed to 5 on 5.5, the rear was an early J truck 35 spline semi float. both axles were very strong but turned out to be somewhat rare, expensive and time consuming to custom make or source parts.

You're a looser... nothing wrong with the xo fab hybrid. It's a great base for expansion into your own cage that you want.

@@SarahSmith-hd8kd I could see you making the argument against an exo they add a lot of weight over a full body but you're not you're making the argument in favor of a hybrid which is just as heavy but because you took the time to hide the tube behind the fenders and pillars they do nothing to protect the exterior like a true exo but add all the weight of an exo with none of the benefit ...A real exo with internal bracing will keep the rig in one piece when flipped many times a "hybrid" is wasted time to hide and pretend you don't have a cage and the first flop your rig is a dented pile of shit .
Do you have dual locking chromoly light bars ?

@@yerwrng In a sense I get what your trying to get at. You are right and wrong at the same time. The real reason this guy has an xo fab hybrid cage ( as I also do or will soon ) is so that if in case he does roll or flop on the top, he won't get crushed like a pancake when the roof and pillars give way. I on the other hand bought mine ( which I have not installed yet unfortunately ) but I bought mine because I hit the Busy Wild trail at Elbe Wa ORV park ( you tube that trail ) and I almost crushed my roofline on trees on both sides two separate times. Thankfully I am a pretty good driver who avoided this, but point is that the roofline would have been protected on both sides by just having that hybrid exo that protects the rooline outside of it, it would have just hit and slid along it just like rock sliders. I also am different in the fact though that I fully intend to do a complete exo off of mine for the reason you mentioned of crushing the body up. The weight you mentioned isn't correct though. The XO fab hybrid weighs less than 200lbs it is about 150-170lbs at most because I can lift the thing by myself, a full exo is easily twice that about 400-500lbs ish depending on how much you build it up. The XO Fab hybrid also ties into the sliders which is kinda nice. One thing also is, is that you are dumb ( not you specifically ) but it is dumb to put an exo cage on a rig that has no unibody stiffeners just like it is to do rock sliders without stiffeners as it will just F the unibody up with that thin sheet metal and that DOM tubing to it. I have framed out fully boxed my XJ'S unibody already so I am ready for it now, but this guy I don't believe has. I see what you were saying to an extent though.
