The fact that Lemmy Kilmister and Ritchie Blackmore are not on this list shows how little you know about them....
Blackmore? Are you sure?
@@robert6907 Yes it is actually true. Search his wikipedia or read his book. Although he doesn't drink when touring... at home he drinks everyday
Or Eddie Van Halen
Baby richie blackmore are you kidding me.
I was going to say as Lemmy pretty much set the bar (No pun intended) at the highest point at one point.
I love that the commercial in the middle of this video was for whiskey😂
😂😂😂 🤔 😟😟😟
That's ironic!
No you dont, youre an alcoholic
As soon as i got up and left the lappy,an ad came on.
You are their target demographic.
Ozzys gotta have one of the craziest immunity systems of all time 💀💀💀
we suppose
he passed but left a very shaky body-double
After Keith 😉
He's been very lucky to have Sharon for her patience and positivity and support has been true honest and unwavering patience throughout his long life battle with drugs and alcohol. Ozzy's wife Sharon used to drinks and carry on close to what Ozzie would intake into his system at the beginning of their relationship which she new about being involved with Ozzie for years even before they eventually became the item they are today. Plus she's seen it all, with her Father- Sharon, being the record mogul producer and straight up mobster gangster Papa- Dapper Don Don Arden.
He's the guy who taught Led Zeppelin's Manager a thing or 7 about the underbelly of the massively corrupt world of Music and Rock and Roll.
And we know what Peter Grant of Led Zeppelin fame is all about and his road Manager partner Richard Cole.
Ozzy's liver is the 8th world wonder
the list is not complete without Shane MacGowan from the Pogues
Dont forget Rory Gallagher.
100%!! If he's not #1, then the list is absolutely useless...
I'm not a singer with a drinking problem, I'm a drinker with a song writing problem. - Shane MacGowan
@@wangson Agreed!
@@jax2428 Shane will remain up there amongst the greatest lyricists to have ever had his majestic words put to some of the most raw, emotional and passionate music of the day! The Pogues were from and of a great place and great time to be creating music!
Just because alcohol is legal in most countries, doesnt mean it shouldnt be classified as a hard drug. Drinking long term or excessively in a short time is as deadly as heroin.
I was just thinking that. Alcohol IS a drug & shouldn't be downplayed compared to other drugs
I drink and I agree !
Alcoholics Unanimous
@@everettrhay4855 YES !
Ha! Ass
Dean Martin was not a heavy drinker until later in his life after the death of his son. He NEVER drank on-stage. However, he was a heavy smoker
Joey Bishop used to tell a story. He took a hit from Dean's ever present glass of bourbon discovered that it was iced tea. Calling Dino an S.O.B., he realized that Dean had been faking out audiences for decades. Mr. Martin himself said in an interview that there was no way he could have done all of those recordings, movies and live shows drunk. It would have killed him.
@@aldonapolitano5979 Dino was smarter than he was given credit for!
There was a recent bio documentary that basically gives lie to the claim that Dean Martin was an alcoholic. He was actually a very disciplined guy, who golfed every morning.
That is indeed true, @@johnmorton5810 he was more into golf, than drinking. He would be the first of the Pack to retire for the evening. They all hammed up the drinking because it was the 60s.
Isn't it ironic that you would pretend to be that. My ex took me to the dr and got a fibro scan done on my liver. The dr actually said do you make up how much you drink your liver is fine. I said woo hoo lunch at the pub she ran out crying.
just glad to see I didn't make this list.
HA!! Nice!!!
Perhaps if the list was for, " The Top 26"? You can do it, pal. Rehab's for quitters.
🤟😎🤙
Don’t turn your back on the bottle friend. It never turned its back on you.
Tell me about it, that's what Satan delights in, destroying lives, rock stars are a small percentage
PROPER LIST
1 Jim Morrison
2 John Bonham
3 Keith Whitley
4 Amy Winehouse
5 George Jones
6 Ozzy Osbourne
7 Bon Scott
8 Hank Williams
9 Janis Joplin
10 Keith Moon
Forgot Warren Zevon
Zevon died from mesothelioma, as he had been a long-time smoker.
We can all make lists. Perhaps you should do your own video as opposed to poo-pooing on this person’s take on it.
Rory Gallagher
Almost but kieth moon should definitely be top 3
How in the hell is Dennis Wilson not on this list? His slow demise and ultimate end was all due to alcohol combined with other drugs.
Next time for sure
What about Shane McGowan or Lemmy?
@@joebarracuda6038 I'm just starting this video...they didn't put Shane MacGowan on the list!?!?! THEN THIS LIST IS CERTAINLY WITHOUT IT'S #1!!!
@@wangson damn right and Cheers Mate! I mean you have to be drunk just to write about Shane.. Thinking about him makes me drink a f'n big Glass of something.. 😁😁🍻🍻
@@joebarracuda6038 amen!
"You're not drunk if you can lie on the floor without holding on." Dean Martin
lol been there
Dean Martin wasn't really a drunk though it was all an act.
Lemmy, kieth richards just to name a couple who should have been in the top 5
- James Hetfield has been in and out of rehab a few times over the years
- Ace Frehley started drinking since he was 13 years old
- Duff McKagan was 30 when his pancreas burst. He is sober now.
- Joe Walsh has been sober since 1994
- Corey Taylor got sober in 2010.
- Tom Waits joined AA in 1994 and got sober.
- Zakk Wylde, involving blood clots prompted the guitarist to quit the bottle.
- Ann Wilson, it wasn't until 2009 that the Heart singer decided to quit drinking cold turkey.
- Lemmy Kilmister speaks for itself
- DMC drank so much beer and malt liquor in his teens and early 20s that he almost destroyed his liver and pancreas. He quit after a doctor's warning: “You drink, you die.”
Some get sober, some don't
A pint a day?
That really is not that much.
That was my breakfast for a couple years
Especially if you enjoy Irish Whiskey
I was thinking the same thing 😂
Still 16 oz! That is still quite a bit
How did Lemmy ever stay off this list?
Because technically speaking, it didn't "take" Lemmy out I suppose.
Why the hell is George Jones not on this list?
Oh , he's a wholesome country music guy . Not some long hair hippie .
🤣😂@@user-rt9zq8rs9k
Ol' Jones has probably been called a lot of things but wholesome country star I doubt being one of them. Star,Yes, wholesome,?
cause ChatGPT failed to write him in.
That's literally what I said, damn near word for word. Instead of hell... mine started with an F.👍
Who isn’t on the list? Warren Zevon, Pete Townsend, Roy Buchanan, John Hiatt, Rory Gallagher… there’s a lesson here.
Lemmy !!
Pete Way of UFO should be near the top of this list but he's not even on it ..RIP Pete Way. And all others in this video..
Alcohol will leave you laying in the dirt!!
Agreed
Better check your facts on Dean Martin
For sure,Dean had tea with ice on stage.
He played the part well though mate .
These Ai videos use the same superlatives,it’s trash but Sunday morning trash is enough 🏴🙏🏽
@@G1806 I read in a magazine in the late 90s an interview with his daughter, the first 3-4 martinies on his shows were alcohol free, after that, he would let it rip!
Check your facts, he was on point
Clapton lost his “magic” once he got “straight !”
Definitely all of the Stones best albums were in the 70s heroin years.
Eddie Van and...Ozzy...and...Jimi was not an alch. He drank in Sweden and freaked from fatigue etc. and was jailed. He couldn't handle drink. Shame on you. Morrison? the worst. They say he drank a case of beer...on stage. I agree with all of them but not Hendrix. So wrong. Do your homework.
I agree but, Hendrix last night in London included a fair amount of wine and a big dinner. I belive his girlfriend gave him a few sleeping pills later and...the combination caused him to vomit in his sleep and aspirate.
Thank you that's the same thing I was thinking we all know Jimmy was murdered
@@michaelmeltzer3397LOL yeah right we all know what really happened
Keith Richard's??????????????????????

Yeah how did KEEF miss this list ?
@@epiphonium Heroin

Why do they always say "drugs and alcohol?" Every high school chemistry kid knew alcohol is a drug! So why do they keep saying it?!
Sorry
The actor W.C. Fields said (something like ) “I don’t drink water because fish have sex in it”. It will make you think the next time you have a glass of Adam’s ale.
There's a tear in my beer cause I'm cryin for ya dear. Hank Williams.
Sr. & Jr.
You can go to store buy hard liquor by the gallon while other drugs you go to prison for having just makes no sense
Cigarettes and alcohol are the good drugs. They are taxed.
Makes perfect sense, keeping the population drunk and dumb
@@billalbritton4972so is weed in states where it's legal
Yeah I definitely agree on that one
If you take a shot during each ad in this video you too will be an alcoholic.
LOL
Do not drink alcohol, it will ruin your life!! I can't believe it's still legal. That sh*t almost ruined me, it certainly ruined a few of the bands i was a part of. STAY AWAY!!
The narrator referred several times to Alice Cooper’s alcohol and drug abuse. I’ve read numerous articles and a couple of books about Alice Cooper and seen many interviews and at no stage has anyone mentioned his use of drugs other than alcohol. In fact Alice has clearly stated many times that he drank but didn’t do drugs. Would the creator of this video please provide sources for his information relating to Alice Cooper’s alleged drug abuse?
Alice went through a crack phase. And I am sure he took as much part as anyone considering the time. He's a smart guy, he didn't need all the drug hype.
@@JonathanWillis-bq1td sources please? "And I am sure" doesn’t really cut it. Cheers.
@@MisterWade74 Alice cooper himself. Look up interviews about while he was recording the "blackout records". Niki mentions it in The Dirt as well. If you're a fan its a period worth checking out. I loved those records.
@@JonathanWillis-bq1td Interesting. I love those records too, including some of the stuff Alice couldn’t remember writing or recording. I even like ‘My God’ and ‘No More Love At Your Convenience’ which are pretty cheesy. I have read and have a copy of ‘The Dirt’ but don’t recall the section where Nikki Sixx mentions Alice Cooper and drugs. Well if that’s the case then I guess Alice himself must’ve been full of shit in his two autobiographies and numerous interviews I’ve read and seen.
@@MisterWade74 He never went for that "Drug guy" persona and Ive admired that about him. I love those as well the vibe on those is so genuinely creepy. Even the goofy stuff.
I guess Keith Richards and George Jones are the professionals and can’t be ranked.
Thanks for suggesting
And Lemmy Kilmister
No mention of Gram Parsons.
lets not forget Gerry Rafferty/Keith Whitley/Steve Harwell/Gary Moore/Motorheads Lemmy & Phil Taylor.
I remember the Flying Burrito Bros. I wanted a marijuana embroidered jacket like his when I was a young teen, Mr space cowboy himself, Thank God I quit drinking
Layne Staley,Phil Lynot,Scott Weiland also died from drugs and alcohol
Jack Daniels is not a bourbon. It’s a whiskey. Old Grandad. Rebel Yell and Wild Turkey are bourbons. I should know I drank so much of it I went to AA in 2003 at 42 I’ve been sober 21 years this September. Cheers from Montreal
You have a problem with GENUS and SPECIES.
Congrats, I'm sure you had people in your life that didn't want to see you piss it away
Gerry Rafferty?
I thought he might be on this list…among my favorite singers.
Wow, just wow. I had no idea that Keith Moon had a drinking problem. Unbelievable.
Sarcasm level 1000%
Alice Cooper my fav.... I heard back in the day that he used to consume 2 cases of bud beer and a fifth of Jack Daniel's a day....Good luck today trying to find that info

Such a cool and iconic Rockstar now he's a sissy Christian
Shane Mc Gowan (RIP)
Glen Campbell
These folks had serious mental problems and alcohol addiction just brought out their 😈 demons .
Alcoholism isn't the problem, it's only a symptom of the problem
Eddie Van Halen should be on the list, not Dean Martin
Ace Frehley should be near the top of this list.
25 worst alcoholics. I'm sure there's more than 25
And don't forget the ever popular drug addicts too!
I started drinking vodka when I was 13, thanks grandpa, and smoking cigarettes. I went through periods of bee, wine, whiskey, but vodka is my favorite. I smoked marijuana while in high school. In the 1980's, while in college, I smoked marijuana, or ate it, and I smoked hash. I drink lightly everyday. I quit cigarettes 12 years ago after 37 years will be 63 years old in December 2024 marking 50 safe years of consuming alcohol. I am an addiction counselor. We did lose so many singers way too soon. Thanks to records and CDs, their voices can still be heard.
Blaming Gramps... nice
@@atatterson6992 Haha
Thanks for sharing your miserable life of bad decisions that you made on your own
@@johnm2617 I quit my 45 year ciggie habit when I was your age and have been smoke free for 15 years. Just know that after a week or so, the nicotine is out of your system, and the rest is habit. Check with your MD for new advances and good luck!!
clearly you have an addictive personality and you probably should not be an addictions counselor. anybody who drinks every day for 50 years could use some clarity and introspection.
It's both fascinating and sobering to delve into the lives of these iconic musicians and see the toll that alcoholism took on their creativity, careers, and ultimately, their lives. It serves as a poignant reminder of the darker side of fame and the importance of seeking help for substance abuse issues before it's too late."

It’s very weird all these people overdosed and died in hotel rooms alone??
You are more vulnerable to demonic influence alone, which makes you an easy target
Dean Martin was not an alcoholic. He barely drank. It all was an act.
Thanks for sharing 🙂
Bahahaha
White Room is a song by Jack Bruce not Clapton.
Crossroads is a Robert Johnson song
Alcohol is the worst drug. It is only legal because of its profit margin. The legal hypocrisy has to end.
Agreed
Just being a beeraholic caused enough damage, I never got into drugs, well marijuana is still classified A
Keith Whitley, Ronnie Van Zant, Vincent Abbot and Janey Lane should have been on this list👌
Next time for sure
@@VintageTVShows oh you are cool man. The list you put out is most definitely rock solid and is damn good.
I probably should have said honorable mentions💁♂️
I'm 60 and been on it all at 1 time or another. Never seen any drug get you any higher or crazier than good ol' Tennessee Moon.
Tennessee moon?
@@nazariooodelima8055 Very potent distilled alcohol, generally made at home or sold illegally.

Nonsense. It’s just alcohol and noxious chemicals.
A list like this without Shane MacGowan, George Jones & Ace Frehley is a joke
Hendrix---STILL the greatest rock guitarist---SHOULD NOT be on this list. He was NOWHERE near an alcoholic. Morrison was EASILY the worst and knew it. And,by the way,who were the ''best'' alcoholics? Just curious.
No Keith Richards?
Bon Scott was not the original AC/DC frontman. Dave Evans was the original lead singer.
Who cares for the first guys in a band? Every band has that era when they check out different people. Bon was their first real singer.
Watching this video while enjoying your favorite drink 🍸. 🍻 Cheers
this list needs (at least) 1,000 more people to complete it.
We’re making other videos on it.., just wait 😊
A fellow musician and friend of mine died at the age of 40 drinking.
Sorry to hear. 😢
Sinatra lived to be 82. That's more than old enough. I mean, why the hell would anyone want to live until they're 102, anyway?
I have so much in common with all the people in this video. I struggle with alcohol too. The only things I don't have in common are the money, the women and the fame.
Dammit!
Thanks for sharing
Alcohol sucks, theres a lots of better and safer drugs
Keith Richard?
What??
Don't forget Tim Buckley and John Martyn
Clapton's still alive and doesn't even make the Top Ten in a list of dead people. Okay, some are still alive. I saw Townes Van Zandt on stage a few weeks before his death. Everybody in the audience knew that this was goodbye. Rest In Peace you beautiful soul. Dee Dee is missing, a lot of punkrockers in fact, James Hetfield, Dave Mustaine, Jeff Hanneman, Sammy Davis Jr., all of the LA Hairmetal scene, Joe Cocker, Mark E. Smith, Rob Halford, the ist is so long.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts 🙂
He’s no ‘coholic, he’s just a devil for the drink.
😂 I will drink to that whiskey 🥃 please hold the ice ❄. Because it takes up ✌ too much room in the 🍸 glass 🍸🍸🍸🍸🍸🍸🍸🍸🍸🍸!!..
Dean Martins drinking was all part of the show,he didnt drink on stage
It was actually apple juice
I need a drink after watching that.
Lol
Who are the best Alcoholics in History????
😂🍸 Are you kidding us ? That would run in to hundreds of thousands of famous artists, and millions of regular people !..
I don't think any of these people 'struggled' against booze... they were willing participants.

How Ozzy is still alive is truly God's work in keeping him with us. 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
Thanks for the focus on Pig. He and Janis were infamous drinking buddies, BTW
I can relate to the late CONWAY TWITTY'S song that goes, UP comes the bottle. DOWN, DOWN, DOWN goes the man. The pretty well drives home the point! 😢😮
I heard Falco was a pretty good drunk.
Bon Scott died from asphyxiation after passing out on his back and vomiting, shortly before I was born in November 1979 in the Caribbean. That's why Bon wasn't heared on vox on, Back In Black. His death opened the way for the Brian Johnson era of the band.

@@VintageTVShows you're welcome
As a recovering alcoholic, I understand the sickness when you try to stop cold turkey,, the intense withdrawal from drinking vodka the only thing keeping you alive,, I've seen many of my friends pass away from liver problems I myself was getting to that point, day after day just to feel comfortable,,,2years sober and loving life,,
This is all BS! Jimi Hendrix's ranking on this list, after knowing what we know about him, makes this whole list questionable!
That you didn't include Shane MacGowan makes your list completely negligent and useless. Sorry. Shane clearly would've taken your #1 spot but he's not even included here. Incomplete.
Uh, Brian Wilson? The kid who practically single handedly took on The Beatles, shook up the industry with Pet Sounds, Good Vibrations, and then shelved what has become the most famous unreleased album of all time, SMiLE, to then vanish for decades, only to appear here and there in horrendous condition.
Hendrix shouldn't be on this list. You did introduce Morrison twice, so I guess that makes up for it🤣.
Dean Martin "epitomized the epitome" ?! Huh? Great content but who writes this stuff?
Why man?
and Lemmy?? he should be the first!
I was aquainted with "Vinny" in Pontiac Michigan where he lived at the time, just before the release of the single "I'm eighteen". He funded the beginning of his career by selling quaaludes. He was as much a downer as his pills. Vinny was an occasional visitor to a home we hippies called "the Pontiac House". I never took quaaludes (I was religiously a pot head) nor ever liked Alice either.
Watching this makes me want to have an alcohol free day...just got to find a place where I can get free alcohol 😂😂😂😂😂
No LEMMY come on man ??
Seriously 😐
here for lemmy comment
But why man?
Really this list left out 2 legends George no show Jones & Ace Frehley!!!!!

Joe Walsh is right up there.
How could you leave off DUFF rom GUNS N ROSES! He never drank water. Thats his phrase! He said it. His pancreas exploded becsuse of alcohol! Cmon man.
I knew a guy that went to Joe Cocker concert where he passed out drunk on stage
Gary Moore, Johnny Winter also.
Gary was an exceptional guitarist, I really wish him and Rory Gallagher would've quit, however the Irish like booze too much to not drink at all
The Band’s Richard Manuel

I hate to chime in with an unpopular position. 'Alcoholism' is a choice. All it reflects is that real life fails to be interesting and challenging. OR that derailing normal thought is entertaining. Be better friends. Provide better challenges.
How about George Jones and Hank Williams Jr. , A couple of good ol party’s boys

My boss caught me sleeping on the job. I told him: "At least I showed up." Didn't know unemployment office was so crowded.
Brian Jones died in July, not June. And Hendrix, as some of you had said already, was not an alcoholic, nor did he suffer from depression.

I never understood "accidental overdose"? How tragic all these stories are, no one forced them to mix drugs with alcohol (sorry, thinking out loud) SO SAD!!
No mention of Joe Cocker? He destroyed his once powerful voice with drugs, alcohol & cigarettes in the 70’s!
And this is mainly just in Rock N Roll here.
Amazing how many of them died at age 27.
It's called the 27 club.
