It’s actually a very well written and comprehensive book ruclips.net/user/postUgkxhgbP-6hUnXu_QRaoHgLztgsI0YF3HqR0 . I wanted to pair this with an updated book on local codes to start planning a post-retirement dream shop. I think I have just about everything I need between the two. The extra plans available for purchase towards the end are priced almost as much as full home plans, not little sheds however.
Hey brother, I saw your channel link on Reddit (WILG123). Don't mind the haters. Build your cabin. We all love our trees. I planted more than a thousand on my plantation and I am still sad to have to cut a live one but we do what we have to. Keep the channel going and check out this Canuck dude (My Self Reliance). He is the most no BS, solo cabin building, I respect this man, RUclips guy I have ever seen. I am sure he is a monster tough homesteader if there ever was one. Cheers, ~Mike and Ester~
Duyan Farms I second that suggestion! Shaw James n family are Awsome folks! Just work on sustainability as you go n you will do great things! Thanks for sharing! ATB👍🔨😎🔨👍!
I stumbled across your videos. I am enjoying them. I am going to start with oldest first and work towards newest videos. Congratulations! Happy for you and family.
Hey! Did you try to use also the off-center logs? Did they bend? I am planning on using two pieces of timber from one tree, which would make both the pieces off-center. But I wanted to know how much they would bend. Thanks!
@@FinnishPlayground Thank you, it is still in the dream/planning/research phase. If I cut myself have to air-dry also, if from prof. sawmill can also have it kiln dried to avoid twisting etc. Hope all is well up in Finland, greetings from Austria

Indeed! Excellent recommendation of Shawn’s channel.
The Bearded Carpenter is hands down, the best channel on RUclips for learning how to build a dovetail log cabin.
Subscribed to an honest and cool guy.

I need to check that when I will be back to home. Remind me if you won't get an answer :)
@@FinnishPlayground I am reminding on his behalf because I am interested as well )
😉👍 can this teknik be used on bigger houses/ log houses...???
Absolutely, go ahead :D
What size are the main logs? Am thinking of milling myself with chainsaw mill vs. giving to professional sawmill...
10x20 cm. It takes very long time with chainsaw mill, but it's possible.

Research Rocket Mass stoves!
Thanks for the idea, I'll look into it!
Your lumber looks awesome BTW! Best wishes going forward!

😉 now I want to grab my chainsaw and tools and go build a log house like this ...
Cool. Were there not dead trees you could have used instead of killing healthy ones?
I should have done this anyway in a while as we are building our home there. However I left there as many as possible.
About the best sustainable build you can do. Renewable, locally sourced. Fantastic work. Looking forward to watching your progress!
