    When we linked with Mac McClung in Gate City, he gave us some secret info... WHERE HE GOT HIS BOUNCE. Mac brought us into his secret family weight room where his dad trained him and his teammates to become super athletic.
    Mac has already been crushing it in summer league at Georgetown and his bounce been REAL. Check out how Mac got it done and maybe you can get the Mac bunnies.

    You can work to increase your vert. I have a close friend of mines who was always rim grazing couldn't get the ball in the hoop for nothing. He eventually chose to go2 a program called North Star which helps bring your athletic ability to a whole new level if you were dedicated enough. After about 4 hard months of training lets just say he came into the season throwing it between his legs with ease " this is true story I swear to god ". It just requires a lot of hard work though, a lot of plyometric exercises everyday and a lot of stretching is key. You have to work on your whole body, arms, back, core, hips, quads, hams, calves, almost every muscle especially your core. Do a lot of resistance training & explosive drills. Prime examples of great athletes that increase their vert through training are top notch football player's like RB's, DB's or WR's, usually a lot of those guys can jump out the gym. Great track athletes are another example of it. MJ ran track which is one of the many reasons why it became the signature attribute about his game because he was so wiry strong & acrobatic. It'll benefit 10 times more if you do it while you're young and still growing.

      Echo One Yeah probably. His family history of athletic success, or just success in general is absolutely stunning. His grandfather played on national champion teams at UT if Im not mistaken. His dad was a linebacker for VaTech. His sister was one of the top soccer players in the US if not the top. He has uncles that played pro baseball. Aunts that played for Canadas olympic national team in hockey. Just jaw dropping stuff. All those flags in the basement represent his family in sports.

    I had a 38 inch standing vert in HS as a white dude. Not as much bounce as this dude, but by the time i was 21, I had severe tendinitis in my right knee that prevented me from playing my senior year of college. the point is, athletes arent manufactured for the most part. They are enhanced.....i was doing a lot of complex training with heavy squats, followed by box jumps, tons of calf raises, stair running. And it took its toll on my body. mcclung will go up against bigger, longer, quicker, stronger players at the d1 level. we will see how he fairs. reminds me a lot of Josh Adams, who played at the university of wyoming. Was a damn good player with insane hops. I believe he had nearly a 50 inch vert because he is slightly smaller than mcclung. theres literally two white players under 6'4 in the NBA. Dragic, and McConnell. so the odds are super long for a 6'1 white dude making it in the league....maybe he can play in Turkey or over seas somewhere.....

    It's funny reading comments with people mad he didn't show his secret workouts lol. He does the fundamentals, lifts weights, plyometrics, foot drills and finally determination. The only secret is inside of you and when you put it to work every day you move to higher levels. Stop trying to seek a special gift when it's been inside of you the whole time. Just be a man and reach down deep. Can't wait to see him at the next level.

    two parts to dunking; strength to body weight ratio(how much you can squat or deadlift to how much you weigh. 4 rep max is better then 1 for health) and plyometric ability i.e. how much elastic energy you have in the tendons as well as can create via counter movement(depth drops, tuck jumps, sprints, unilateral hops, bounds, jump rope, agility ladder, box jumps. Keep reps of plyos 6 or below per set). become proficient at these and fly. limiting factors - body fat % < 10 the lower then better, but no less then 5%, to avoid sickness. your welcome.

    • @treystyles7307
      @treystyles7307 2 года назад

      @@gregggross6764 nah I’m a trial and error ex athlete. Was really bouncy in my teens and early 20’s but didn’t know about antagonistic balance in muscle and tendon strength. Since your athlete is so young I would say, good nutrition in accordance with his blood type, strengthen the body with bodyweight only exercises till he’s in his mid teens, and make sure he’s working on both sides and directions equally to prevent injury. If he sprints a lot, make sure he’s sprinting backwards, if he’s right hand dominant when laying up the ball make sure he’s getting close to equivalent amounts of layups after practice with the opposite hand. He doesn’t really need to do too much high impact plyometrics, just what his body can handle and generate, skipping and sprints forwards and backwards will suffice. 2 great people to watch, Anthony Hamilton Jr, he accidentally teaches us about the effects of repeated high tension training even with bodyweight only and the vertimax as an advancement. The next person I would say is kneesovertoesguy or range of strength either will be adequate in your goal. Finally pjf performance when your sons body is ready for advanced plyometrics, mid teens.

      @@gregggross6764 nah bro, I live in England lol. I may move to America. I let you in on a secret though, because your a really father. Any muscles you stimulate alot as a child will develop excessively during puberty. So don’t work him to the point of breakdown, but what your doing is going to result in him flying during puberty provided you keep him healthy, knees over toes stuff will help with the health of the joints and tendons part.

There will be improvement, but not like Mac. Everybody is different. Mac has a 46 perhaps he can get it to 50, and the average person can get to a max of 40-42

      its hard work - people are too quick to reply that it is genetics, but genes didn't put a gym in the damn basement

      Its not just all genetics, you got to understand that this didn't start happening after months of work but instead several years of hard work. Anything with several years of work is gonna be a success

      training helps give you the most out of your genetic ability

      there’s a huge difference between training for 6 years when you’re 30 and when you’re 12. shit is way more impactful while your body is developing.

    You can workout all you want, if you don't have the genetics, you won't be rim grazing with your head being 6'2, sorry. You could dunk and improve your god given ability, but you won't be a super high riser unless you're born with it.

    Yet no workouts even said lol....guys grab a weight vest some type of weighted resistance and just jump! As much as you can 500-1000 jumps a day weight resistance. YOU WILL SEE RESULT, it’s not a black thing or a genetic thing it’s a “you’re not working everyday like this kid does thing” get in the freaking gym and lift heavy weights on your legs and jump jump jump every chance you get jump! I was dunking by 9th grade at about 6’0. With 0 work ethic. I’m 6’5 now with worth ethic and can hit my head on the rim. I got blessed with height but my vert would have me dunking at 5’9! If you want bounce put in the work stop making dam excuses and asking “why don’t I have bounce like him I’m x y z. Work hard you silly gooses 😂
