Hopefully the rest of the catalogue follows. Sunflower or Surfs Up would be amazing in Atmos.
Would Steven Desper even allow for sunflower to be remixed
That would be amazing. Those are two of my favorite Beach Boys albums.
@@zachsmith3 it's not up to him. The only people that could veto a remix would be the Beach Boys themselves.
I also feel like Today and Summer Days have potential to be amazing in Atmos, although Today will definitely be a challenge. No doubt Giles will be the man to do it!
I believe that a few of these Re-mixes appeared on a recent Best of and those old numbers sounded surprisingly fantastic, there was actually another dimension of depth to them, i couldn't believe my ears. Please more of that, do it again!
“There they are. The Beach Boys!” Gotta love Brian!
can someone imagine Smiley Smile on atmos? what a fantasy!
The most wonderful sounds !
SHEESH GILES AT IT AGAIN
Can’t wait for the M.I.U Album to get a Dolby Atmos mix
Haha!
If one album needs re-releasing/remixing/re-whatevering, it's definitely this one...............
😜
Well, it *does*. Fantastic arrangements, but the sound leaves a lot to be desired, given that the original masters were lost and everything we hear now is nth generation. From the clips on this video, the sound has been massively improved!
@@StuartQuinn - Fair enough, that's your perception....
I love the beach boys, and this is their best album!!!!!
welll..
just kidding it’s most definitely one of their best
Summer in Paradise is slightly better.........just kidding!
Personally, I think that Smile is even better. It's too sad that it was never properly released. But I still adore the smile sessions mix.
Had no idea that this was happening. Awesome.
Technology catches up to Brian Wilson!
Never mind that, get on with Rubber Soul 2023
But is there still the high pitched artifact screech on "I know there's an answer" whenever Brians part pops in?
Well, I guess they will have to release a BluRay AUDIO disc for me to enjoy this in my 7.2.4 theater. See what happens 😉
Pet Sounds in its truest form will always be mono, but I bet it’ll sound great in atmos!
Mono may be the definitive version, but this album really suffers from muddiness / a lack of clarity in mono; so much detail is lost in its original form. I much prefer some of the various newer stereo mixes of the album.
@@ProfessorPancakes420 Same
Giles does a hilarious George Martin impression
How come this is announced so low profile??? Will he make stereo remixes too??
There already is stereo mixes
Ya the 50th Anniversary remixes sound great
amazing
We demand SMiLE Sessions in Dolby Atmos!!!!
Estos sonidos " escondidos" ya los escucho hace años con mi antiguo Garrard 401 con brazo y cápsula Ortofon, con un viejo Fisher de valvulas y unas cajas Jensen Triaxial....
yeah yeah yeah... but when do we get *Rubber Soul* ?
I agree. I love Pet Sounds but also want the remixed Rubber Soul.
The remix for Rubber Soul's gonna come out this year, so I've heard.
Beach Boys best band of all time!
Damn right
Available since???
Hope this gets a Blu-rya Audio release. Would be nice if it included 5.1, 2.0 Stereo and 2.0 Mono mixes too. Thank you Giles and Brian!
I am glad they let Giles do this album because Mark Linett or whoever did that horrendous 2021 Sounds of Summer deserves to be fired. It ruined beautiful music and shouldn’t have come out. Love The Beach Boys!
I bought the album on vinyl to check it out. There were a few moments I had to stop because I thought my stylus was messing up, lol.
Giles himself should have been fired several Beatles remixes ago.
This alone makes me want to go and by a soundbar, so that I can listen to Pet Sounds i Dolby Atmos. :-D
Isn’t Giles like his amazing father?
He tries, and fails..
Will this be coming out on Blu-Ray?
Giles is morphing into his dad
❤❤❤💃🕺🏻💃🕺🏻💃🕺🏻
i always say lennon mccartney were two to work out melody and prose, while wilson had a variety of collaborators the ideation for the song originated with him.
Giles is absolutely his father's son.
Figures Giles Martin would work on this project. The Martin family has always been in the fore front of Great Sound. The Beatles and the Beach Boys loved pushing the sound envelopes.
Thank you for delivering on this.
Does anyone recommend a really good 7.1 channel surround sound closed back headphone?
Please assist!
Thanks to all!
Love the new Pet Sounds with Atmos and I’d like to hear it correctly!
Thanks so much for all of the help!
Drop any names or models!!
Thanks again!
Why bother? Atmos is an immersive audio experience right? True Atmos would necessitate speakers around and above you. Headphones are just trying to emulate that, but, ultimately, are stereo. There's no such thing as a 7.1 set of headphones.
Sure, Giles' tinkering might bring out some of the textures lost in Brian's mix, but it's still Brian's baby and just because Giles uses his reputation to get these opportunities, doesn't necessary mean he's improving the record. He's simply changing it, using the current technology and at times some things are sometimes better left as were originally intended.
If it has to happen, Giles shouldn't be the one to do it. I think he gets work based more on reputation than actual skill.
I really don't understand why we can't buy Pet Sounds in Atmos. We have been able to buy it in about 20 different released versions over the past 50 years.
You would need a compatible speaker system and what not
The new sloop John b mix goes hard tbh lmao
found out that some people think that's the worst song. I love it.
I turn off Atmos since it's just a gimmic but do appreciate the cleaner mix that Giles did.
Don’t get any ideas. Christ the last thing we need is his 2023 take.
All of these new versions, Giles, Steven Wilson..send out to sea please
Giles Martin's Pet Sounds Atmos remix sounds terrible!! Who keeps giving Giles these monumental pieces of recorded music to work on?? Give the work to someone who actually has a good ear.
Couldn’t agree more!
The pet sounds (song) remix is a disaster. Also Carl’s 12 string guitar during “That’s not me” is really low volume. I think this remix could have been done with a lot more care. Having “Martin” as your surname doesn’t guarantee a good mix and the 1996 stereo mix (Brian Wilson was present) is far superior
I think they butchered god only knows with this mix. Brian purposefully produced the song so that each instrument is layered over each other to make one sound. He pulled off a lot of trickery to make it sound that way it does. When you spread out each instrument to a separate speaker the whole song just sounds flat and too spread out. For example the galloping sound in the original mix drives the whole song forward when mixed over the other instruments. When given it's own speaker and panned directly to the right it sounds completely separate from everything else happening. The magic of the song is how it all comes together and spreading it out just makes it sound flat. Besides that I like all the other choices made on the other songs.
overall I prefer the original mono to any other mix. that is the album.
Giles doesn't care about cohesion. He'll do anything to place instruments in different places just for the sake of "immersiveness".
His disastrous remix of Creedence clearwater at Royal Albert Hall killed a great record.
He’s wildly overrated.
It was a new release lol. There wasn’t a remix
Yep!
@@xxEzraBxxx Obviously it's a new release. Giles and Sam did the Atmos mix.
The best to songs on on the side when it be nice and sloop John b other than that I wasn't real crazy about this one
blasphemous
But had one of the worst covers in rock history!
Goddamn awful ! First he ruins the Beatles , now the Beach Boys. Who's next ?
wonderful. I wish atmos was more easily accessible to everyone
I‘m a hugeBeatles fan, but I think that Brian Wilson is the only composer in popular music who is on par with Lennon/McCartney!
Bob Dylan!
To me Brian's highs are way higher than Lennon/McCartney's
The Magnetic Fields are great songwriters.
The greatest album ever made!
3d place ey ben ;)

heh, yeah, right *cough* *cough* sure it is.
You are right... But so is everyone who disagrees. It is a subjective view. I love the album. Many people do not care for it at all. I am thankful for this fact, because it would rather spoil it if everyone and their dog called it their favourite.
bro chill@@elvisleeboy
I like Mark & Alans work, but the thing is its the same all over again same ears and people mixing year after year. Same with The Doors and Bruce Botnick, yes he is the go to guy but his mixes sound a certain way that becomes a bit boring after 50+ years. I think this is beyond exciting, Giles take on this will be worth hearing!
I just hope they put it out on physical media as well, not just streaming.
One of the great albums of all time, can't wait to listen to it in Atmos. Thanks Giles.
This version really does sound great! Play it a few times and you can hear a pretty big difference
A lot of these atmos mixes for different albums haven’t quite felt right or sounded correct. This mix absolutely nails it. Giles did a great job bringing this album to Atmos.
The Beach Boys are so underrated
What planet are you living on?
@@evanorsomething909 I’m talking how they don’t get much credit just as The Beatles or Queen. Their singles are the most popular to the average person. I wish so many people knew who Brian Wilson is just as John Lennon or Paul McCartney.
They are rated the world over,Americas greatest band.
@@eko9554 Their singles are not more popular than Queen or The Beatles. And the Beach Boys only have a small amount of great music, whereas the other's have their entire discographies.
They're highly and widely rated.
They don't make music like this anymore. Capturing the pure joy of creativity and imagination on record.
So only streaming? If so...silly waste of your time IMHO
It’s an amazing album but I’ve yet to hear a great sounding version of it.
Марик привет
Smiley Smile was good too!
How can I listen to this Atmos version?
Question: How are all of you actually listening to these atmos mixes?
CRAPMOS
It really does sound like crap
Excellent choice- Giles Martin!
Thank you.
This is going to be amazing!
It should be on Blu-Ray not streaming. Ridiculous!
The real question is can we see some more of this unreleased footage of Brian in the Studio?
I SHOULDENT PAY AS THE BIGGEST BEAVH BOY FAN HERE WHYY
Guaranteed the vinyl sounds the best
Exciting!
Now do Smile.
This is the best example I've heard of an album becoming really enhanced by Dolby Atmos. Giles Martin never fails!
100% - a lot of early atmos mixes by bands have been underwhelming but this one is amazing and what atmos should sound like.
Giles Martin USUALLY fails. His mixes sounds terrible. So what if he pans things 360 degrees? He has an awful ear for EQ and a heavy hand with limiting.
Disappointing.. No physical release, and he's partnered with Sonos to tell you that Sonos is the way to go.
I mean, all fine and well with over 9000 re-releases of Pet Sounds, but really hoping it doesn't also mean the end of his legitimate Beatles remixes
oh god, why did Giles say Iconic instead of Classic? :(
what
@@Blue_ Pet Sounds has always (rightly) been regarded as a classic album. But now everything has to be termed 'iconic' instead, which is daft.
@@sodiumlights it’s the same thing
@@raquelking6323 no, no it's not.
@@sodiumlights It has the exact same connotation.
Very over-rated album that doesn't really deserve the attention people bang on about. I'm afraid it's a case of the Emperor's new clothing.🤔
Interesting. I purchased the CD years ago to see why everyone was raving about it.
I still don't see it. Yes, there are a handful of great songs, but I wasn't that impressed.
May be when it was released it was different, but Sgt Pepper, preceded by Strawberry Fields now that was different.
@@blueycarlton I'll come clean, I'm an old fossil (67), I worked as a (club)DJ for most of my professional life. I have played plenty of crap over the years as part of the job but I still have my own personal faves. I just played commercial pop/dance 90% of the time. I was also allowed to indulge in stuff I liked and my music collection (5000 to 6000 CDs, and counting) is my diary. My vinyl collection got liberated (stolen) when I went through divorce ha!
A lot of the music I played at night was not what I listened to at home, club life is very repetitive. Anyway as a part of my self-education, self-indulgence I bought the Beach Boys Pet Sounds 4CD (green) box set. I got what I expected, Brian Wilson dishing out Hitleresk orders etc; it was a challenge to wade through it to be honest. Then I listened to the CD again. It may well have been ground breaking for musicians but not for a bonehead pleb like myself. The songs, the running order etc; just didn't resonate with me.
I still try to "listen" to music that is a bit of a challenge from time to time but Pet Sounds just wasn't for me as an album and I can understand why the initial sales were slow and low. It reminded me of that soft drink that was around in my youth called Cresta, the one with the catch phrase "it's frothy man"...that's how I would sum up Pet Sounds, "frothy"...super saturated with artificial chemicals replacing sugar that would rot your teeth after one mouthful. But each to their own, it just wasn't my cup of blood.
Have a great day, thank you for the reply and happy rest of the century matey.

@@blueycarlton Brilliant Bluey....but be warned I'm catching you up. I'm off to the sun tonight, holiday time.😎🍻🌞
@@claudecarlyle9284 Fantastic reply and I thank you. That's the great thing about music it means so much to so many, be it good bad or indifferent. Yours is a detailed overview that I could never have given consideration to. Pet Sounds like many US album's has a dreadful cover, it had next to no appeal to school kids/students. I noticed Noel Gallaher was also less than impressed with the album and didn't rate Brian Wilson as a song writer. I liked the Beach Boys, and saw them live in Skien but they were of their time.
