I've just watched your recently posted short chat about not banishing all negativity, and then this. Oof!
Nobody wants to see their parents die yet it is the expected order of life - always more tragic if the situation is reversed and a parent has to deal with the loss of a child. The best we can wish for our loved ones is passing with minimal suffering.
My own parents have loved la vida española too, but the financial crash of '08 and Brexit soured the dream of living out there twice, so far!. Three grandchildren are helping to keep their spirits up on the temperate North Downs.

I am so sorry to hear of your loss, losing a parent is so hard in ways I never expected. I also lost a parent, so hearing you talk about feeling the feelings and learning lessons about death resonated in such a big way 💜
