      @wolfmare50 The first of every month there is a slaughter auction in Bowie TX. This is where a lot of these horses after being dragged around the country by kill buyers go. It is one of the main direct ship auctions to Mexico. You will see these horses there. Legs dangling, eyes gauged out, horrible emaciated old horses, but you will also see perfectly healthy fat horses that go there as well. It's a horrible fact that exists in this country. End slaughter. End slaughter transport. Support real rescues and sanctuaries.

    • @vegaloempia
      @vegaloempia 6 месяцев назад +3

      I follow also a few others rescues like ASIAB who goes once a month to Bowie Texas and that is also horrific what you get to see how owners or traders bring there horses or donkeys there in horrible conditions. Also others rescues in different states give every time the same views and if you see that you really are thinking how and why it’s possible that’s it’s allowed, and that owners or traders are not jailed!

    • @nargilblue
      @nargilblue 6 месяцев назад +2

      They gave the numbers a while back, 300 a week or 1200 a month go to Mexico. For this quarter based on my bad math off RUclips videos they're close to 60 horses a month to horse plus not Mexico, that's 5%, they are close to making an impact the industry will feel

    Personally, think the buyout program is better than going to the auction and trying to buy them because they into your facility and they can immediately get help, stop the stress, find relief, find peace. In my humble opinion, this is the best rescue anywhere. I believe having been a horse person my whole life, this is how you rescue, and the work that you do makes a huge difference. This is no small drop in the bucket you not only rescue the horses and other animals too, you also go to Washington and fight for change. Doc would come out for the day, & he was fantastic---but to have 2 veterinarians, fully qualified, young & energetic & so knowledgeable---what a blessing that is! So many people working so hard together! Cory hoping Dr. Gina doesn't slip with the horse dental (should he have, like, a helmet?), everyone giving their all for these horses, whether it's fixing their troubles, or giving them the last few minutes of comfort before they are moved on to the next thing---you are all amazing!

    I also love to see other members of the team trying and learning new things so more of the staff is cross trained.
    I will say watching Dr Lydia diving into horses mouths and grabbing their tongue I definitely get images of her working with the elephants.

What a horrendous nightmare standing long hours cripple, blind, snotty all cramped up from auction to auction for the last bit of money they can get out of them and finally to slaughter, how shameful. What persecution these beautiful sentient beings have to endure.😢 So inhumane and the guilty are just allowed to get away scot free.😡 They arrive at Horse plus rescue totally broken with obvious signs of abuse and severe neglect.😢 Every human will one day have to answer for their wicked deeds. Obviously he's getting a good dose of pain meds, sedation, and the last act of kindness with loving people around him. That new ultrasound unit seems so much more convenient to use.

Tammy what can we do from the uk to help put pressure on your government to change the laws?

I live in Arcadia Florida. I’ve got a couple guys a couple friends to watch your videos. they’re like in there they cry a lot. They text me and they tell me this is awesome. What they do so I wanna throw out a big love and kiss and a hug to everyone of you guys. You’re amazing you’re awesome, but like I said, I wanna come and see you and hold these horses and tell them that everything’s gonna be OK but I know sometimes it’s not OK and I break down and I cry so much right now I’m crying. I love you guys. You’re awesome. Keep up the good work.

    Hello from Australia. Tim Tam biscuits are legendary and a suitable reward for all your good work.
    Re the donkeys from the previous clip: there is an organisation in the UK called The Donkey Sanctuary which has info on its website about respiratory diseases for owners and for professionals. They also do research. May be useful if the US doesn't have such an organisation

    @ about 21:00 min in, referencing scraping the pens and removing manure ... Have you contacted any local farmers who have large fields of crops? Maybe they'd be willing to come get that manure to work into their fields? Then, everybody wins. Just a thought.

    I don’t know what the answer is, but the fact is that we have more horses than we have homes for. My personal opinion is that the answer is to regulate the slaughter process to make it humane.

    • @Ladypurr
      @Ladypurr 6 месяцев назад +1

      Taking away the responsibility people need to have for the animals in their possession is NOT the answer. If a person brings an injured, debilitated horse to an auction it should result in the person being investigated and if appropriate charged with animal cruelty. What they're getting away with is criminal and inhuman beyond words! Just as building bigger dog and cat shelters is NOT the answer to pet overpopulation, slaughter is NOT the answer to unwanted horses. No matter how many improvements and regulations you put in place, slaughter is hideous and cruel! Somewhere along the way, humankind has embraced the idea that no one is responsible! That's pure horse$h*t!

    I may sound callous and unkind, but members of the Amish community who work these horses to the point where injuries prevent them from even walking, must be brought up on felony animal abuse charges. Yes, there are good Amish farmers who do take care of their horses, but the level and severity of abuse and outright neglect must not be overlooked because of religious beliefs. No religion should EVER be allowed to inflict cruelty to the animals they own. I cannot comprehend the what you endure on a daily basis. Thank God your love of horses (and all animals!) transcends the mental agony you endure. Surely you are God's angels for the forgotten! I strongly urge everyone who can to donate. And don't forget to write, or call, your elected officials and urge them to support and get the SAFE Act passed. This senseless culture of cruelty cannot and SHOULD not continue. To do so is insanity!
