      @@Pixelologist Well, it's just, at first, silhouette, followed by single light source chiaroscuro, heightened for dramatic effect with a little 'worm's-eye-view' perspective. Having studied Graphic Art and Design, Freddie would have known about, evidently used, his training to full effect to create the whole visual Queen experience which we, as fans, have all benefitted from. From the many effects that Freddie used, actually the most straight-forward, simple to achieve, however, in cultural history, his selective use of it here and the overlayed sound of his own voice, acapella-style, achieved iconic status. Sometimes, as he would have known, selective use of, relatively simple, effects can provoke the most impactful response. Impressive, yes. But in this case, creepy? Nowt so strange as folks!

    • @imweakfordeaky
      @imweakfordeaky 3 года назад +2

      They never broke up (despite what the movie said)... They stayed together until Freddie’s death in 1991.
      Then Brian, Roger, and John continued working together to finish up the songs Freddie had recorded vocals for, and released those as the Made In Heaven album.
      John finally retired from performing in 1997 to focus on his family life.
      Brian and Roger continue to be very active as Queen + Adam Lambert ...but word is that John continues to help on the business side of things, as that was his particular role off-stage.

    • @liamreidy1175
      @liamreidy1175 3 года назад +1

      I think that it was a case of the A.I.D.S that pulled them apart....

    • @imweakfordeaky
      @imweakfordeaky 3 года назад +4

      @@liamreidy1175 except they didn’t break up, ever.
      When Freddie got diagnosed and became too ill to consider touring, the band circled the wagons around him. They dedicated themselves to recording the albums The Miracle and Innuendo, and many of the vocals that became the Made in Heaven album.
      Freddie was determined to keep working as long as he possibly could, and asked Brian, Roger, and John to keep writing more stuff for him to sing.
      Freddie’s very last recorded vocals are featured in the song “Mother Love”, written by Brian.
      By sheer determination and true grit in a highly weakened state, Freddie managed to complete two verses and the bridge - he told the guys he needed to go rest, and would finish recording the next time he felt well enough to come to the studio... he never made it back in, and died just a few months later. Brian ultimately sang the last verse to complete the song, for inclusion on the album Made In Heaven, which became the final classic lineup Queen album.
      After the completion of Made In Heaven, and of a Brian-written tribute song “No One But You”, in 1997 bassist John Deacon decided to retire from performing to devote himself to being with his large family (wife and 6 children), but still retains active participation in the business side of Queen Productions.
      Shortly after Freddie’s death, they founded the Mercury Phoenix Trust , which raises money for medical research and development of HIV/AIDS treatments and the distribution of said treatments to those in need of them. The Trust is still very active in that endeavor.
      So no, “The Industry” and “The AIDS” didn’t pull Queen apart... if anything, they overcame those hurdles and remained tightly knit.
      Somewhere here on RUclips, there’s an interview Brian and Roger gave a mere week after Freddie died... the devastation in their eyes is clearly seen, their grief obvious even though they somehow managed to keep it controlled well. It’s heartbreaking. ruclips.net/video/eQFxa2EawvE/видео.html

    I have been a Queen and Freddie Mercury fan since 1974. Bohemian Rhapsody was released in 1975 and so was the video of the song first shown on Top of the Pops, a BBC music show that was on every Thursday night at 8pm. This video and the most iconic in music history and shows the best of the late great Freddie Mercury RIP. The video is not creepy and real Queen fans all over the world would find your comments disrespectful to Queen and to the memory of Freddie Mercury who is loved all over the world from the early 1970's upto today and into the future. Bohemian Rhapsody is the most beautiful and incredible song that was years beyond it's time and the visual effects were also beyond it's time. There is a quartet at the start all done by Freddie, then you get a solo that is so incredibly sung, you get opera, rock then back to a solo with just Freddie and his piano. It is the best song ever made and the music is Genius. This is Freddie's performance that shows the talent and range of Freddie Mercury's unbelievable voice. The song and video should be enjoyed not ridiculed because you think the video is creepy, what a load of bollocks. 😡😡💂‍♂️💂‍♂️💂‍♂️💂‍♂️🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇮🇪🇮🇪🇮🇪🇮🇪🇮🇪🇮🇪🇮🇪

She won Norway Got Talent at the age of 7yrs and at the age of 13yrs old, she sang her virgin of Bohemian Rhapsody on American Got Talent and got the Golden Buzzer. This young lady plays the piano, writes and arrange her music, she has written a book, speaks four languages and always performs barefooted to bring awareness to children of the world not having shoes. When she was 6yrs old, she met a little girl that didn’t have shoes and gave the shoes right off her feet right then! She has covered well over a hundred different songs. You have to react to the songs; I put a spell on you (she was 9yrs old), I have nothing (she was 12yrs old), It’s a man’s world ( she was 12 yrs old). Any Angelina song from the age of 7yrs old to now she’s 15yrs old, can’t go wrong. She just turned 15 yrs old in January and signed a record deal with Republic Records.

The recording of the operatic portion would be played with lighting effects until the band came crashing back in when the song returns for the rocking out portion. Not sure if this is the reason Queen did it. My thought has always been the song has a lot of dark messages. The singer would feel like he was surrounded by darkness to the point he didn't want to even live anymore. In the one part, he is wanting released from the darkness..."Never let you go, let me go!." Creepy? True...but symbolic. That's why they made those dark scenes that way...in my humble opinion.
    I have always been amazed by the vocals in this song. The harmony and range are amazing! Add to that, the musicianship and symbolism, Queen brought so much to the table with this classic!
    Glad you two listened and enjoyed it. :-)

    This many consider the greatest rock song of all time. It is a masterpiece written by the great Freddie Mercury, the greatest front man ever! Most believe this song is a metaphor of Freddie wanting to come out of the closet. Remember this is 1975. Freddie died from AIDS. It also was one of the first music videos and was ahead of its time. This is a classic.

      I disagree with your statement, I don't think that this has anything to do with him being gay... They wrote an opera so the song has to go through a range of emotions.... Fat bottom girls isn't really about having sex with his nanny, it's just a song. They were a great band but people seem to want to read more than what is actually there in the songs.

    Anything before the mid-80s, don't go by the video. They didn't really have videos back then. Just focus on the music. Yes, this is pre-moustache.
    They were never able to do the middle "opera" part live, since it took so much double-tracking on the voices.
    "It seems to me like he was going through a lot." Yeah, Freddie left bodies, lol.

      "Bohemian Rhapsody" is a song written by Freddie Mercury, originally recorded by the band Queen for their 1975 album A Night at the Opera. The song is a rock opera song and has a very unusual musical structure for a piece of popular music. Its three different sections have no chorus but both a cappella and heavy metal arrangements.

    Technically "yes" you are getting "3 songs" in one, though what you are actually getting are 3 parts of a greater song, each part is a Rhapsody and thus are different, a Rhapsody is essentally a part of a story/poem/song, Bohemian originally was a racial slur toward those from the old holy roman empire (mostly those from the east) and later developed to also include how they dressed and style of furnishings, and then finally to also encompass art, and thus the song was named Bohemian Rhapsody.

    This song came out in 1975. which rock band rocks hardest?? It depends on your taste in music. Many say Queen was the best. I have heard Led Zeppelin was the best. I have heard The Beatles were the best, the Bee Gees were the best, the Rolling Stones, Aerosmith, Kiss, The Eagles, Black Sabbath, AC/DC, Pink Floyd, Styx, The Doors, Foreigner, Scorpions, Jethro Tull, was the best, and on and on. I will say that the 70's had more great bands than any other time in history up to now. Only time will tell if that is ever beaten but I highly doubt it since we really don't produce much real talent now a days. A few, yes, but back then it was real talent and it was fierce competition to be the best real talent since there was no auto tune or fixing things with technology. Now they pick someone that looks the part and doctors them up with technology and calls them a singer. Back then they sang as good in concert as they did on their albums... pure, heavenly, magic.

    This was 1975. Live Aid was 1985.Thiswas Freddie's look during the early & mid 70s.it was ever evolving. Freddie created the song first, got it recorded & the video & special effects came a little later. They invented the modern video, till then they were just recorded performances, very basic.
