How to assemble an Earthway 2600aplus spreader

- Here we assemble a new spreader - an Earthway model 2600aPlus. This spreader assembly video will show you how to put this amazing spreader together from start to finish.
The 2600aPlus has 9 inch pneumatic wheels, 3 drop holes, the ability to shut off drop holes to act like an edgeguard, and a 40lb capacity hopper.
This spreader is by far the best spreader that I have ever used. I wish that I had made the switch from Scott's a long time ago. There will be some videos in the near future about how to correctly calculate the amount of product that it throws, that way we know exactly how many pounds of product that we're putting on the ground no matter what the product is.

This video saved me so much time! Just got this spreader and got a headache trying to decipher the provided manual. Luckily your video was easy to find and follow! Thank you so much for making it :) also for anybody reading that might get stuck on the one part that I had to spend some time on: the hopper has TWO setting (1) full spread and (2) side spread. Mine came with lever turned to the side spread setting by default. So when i got to the calibration part and pulled the control lever all the way back, only 1 spreader would open (as opposed to all)! I was scratching my head for a bit thinking I did something wrong. But then figured out that i needed to change the spreader setting control to "full". And that fixed it. Anyway, great video, thank you much.

Honestly, who writes these instruction manuals? I could not get past step 4. As everyone on this thread has stated you saved us a lot of time and headache. Earthway should pay you a commission! I look forward to seeing what else you have on your subscription.

Nice video, but the part I am having problems with you didn't' show. On mine appears that the opening on the black plastic piece that attaches to the bottom of the seed holder where you are supposed to connect the open/close arm is oriented horizontally instead of vertically so the arm won't fit in the whole. I tell if mine is defective or if I am doing something wrong, but right now it appears I will have to open and close this thing manually. I want to send it back.

It took me 3 hours to assemble mine. I wish I watched this video first! I'm sure it would have taken less than an hour if I had.

you saved me quite a bit of headache/frustration after I perused the directions and said "I hope someone's made a video that's more clear than this" -- thank you!!! Earthway should be ashamed for those instructions... and the 4 missing #10 screws in my box (that connect the frame to the hopper) I had to replace at home depot.

Thank you for taking the time to shot, edit and post this video. Very helpful. Earthway claims they plan to post an assembly video but they still have not done so (as of April 2020). The information section needs a description of the tool you used to tighten the screws. Much more so than music information. A link to Amazon would also be helpful. I put this thing together with two wrenches as I don't own a socket wrench. One wrench to tighten, the other to hold the bolt in place. Not fun. The included instructions are terrible. They make no mention of ANY tools!

Thanks for the video! I recently bought a new one...but unfortunately my gear assembly snaps crackles and pops... and locks up the wheel intermittently. Hope to get a replacement gear assembly soon. Ugh, last time I order from Target Online - VM Express...

Two questions. Do you find that this spreader empties close to 100 percent? As bad as the Scotts spreaders are designed, they do a decent job of getting all of the fert out of the hopper. And do you find the handle too low for comfort? I'm 6' tall and the Scotts mini broadcast spreader handle is barely tall enough to use for my whole yard. Thanks!

First, great video. I have a question though. At frame 10:20 the agitator on the pinion shaft is correctly installed. I applied Lesco dimension with a full BB sized particle and the spreader didn't work well. I saw a video with the agitator pushed on all the way. I know this is not the correct way but seems like you would get better action.
Does anyone receive a spring or it came of from somewhere? I have a spring near the unit and really not sure if it was from my toolbox or it came with the spreader
I’ve had this thing for two years now and it’s not operational at all. Every time I try and close the hopper the push rod falls out. The push rod is scraping against the black metal piece below the pushrod.

Thank you for this video. The instructions that came with this unit are not very helpful. I noticed that N-Ext box sitting under the Grub EX. Their products recently came to my attention. They seem top-shelf from what I can see. What is your opinion of them?

Very helpful video. The supplied instructions were just horrible. With all the comments on Amazon and elsewhere commenting on how bad the instructions are, you'd think they would do something to remedy that.

These are the worst instructions ever. Thank you for the video. My wife started to put it together then came to ask me, "whats a flat head phillips screw?", thats when I knew we were in for it.
