My first Sturgis/Deadwood run was in 1970. The local newspaper said there were 20,000 motorcycles in the Black Hills area. Probably over a million now.
@@thedonerightranch2197 Yer Kool, and very clear too. I actually have the patches for almost every year since I started going in 1979. I was just a puppy @ 23 yrs old. Enjoyed your video btw, I couldn't resist the spec of humor, however...just a Ko-ink-i-dink with the '79 thing..ride safe brother !
During their big deadwood celebration they block off main street and set up a stage for major entertainment concert in front of the hotel near where you parked..and that street is covered there way down the hill. Saw Big And Rich perform there.
Nice shots, enough scenery and right amount of content. I like how you describe what you are showing and you are getting more than just Sturgis downtown or burnout video. Been there 2x and I agree, riding is very good, at least before all the crowds get there. Enjoy your visit, and the pop-up thunderstorms (got real wet both visits for 30 minutes!).
If your going back to Deadwood, you might want to see Mt Moria Cemetery. It costs a couple dollars to get in but they give you a paper with all the grave locations marked. Also if you watch the DEADWOOD SERIES from HBO it makes it way more interesting, NETFLIX has the discs. I spent two weeks in the surrounding area and didn't see everything I wanted to. All the history in the area is outstanding Liked your video a lot, be safe

That was 79th annual, not the year 1979. I should have made it clearer. Thanks for watching.

Saloon 10..where bill hickok drew the dead man's hand, he and calamity Jane are buried in the cemetery on the hill. Visit the mine museum at Lead.
I think you’re doing just fine. Personally I’d rather watch the beautiful scenery. 👍🏼
It is beautiful here!
You should come to Arkansas if you like twisted two lane roads.
