notre dame secondary had a bad night. it happens lol. they traveled from new york to LA over two weeks. christian gray had a bad afternoon. they still held maiva to 55% completion. and it was a rivalry game. GT took UGA to 8 OT. Texas beat a&m by 10. osu lost. shit happens. hold everyone to the same standards.
USC has lost every game (except ND) by one score or less. Has lead in every fourth quarter except this game. USC is better than people think. Huge win for the Irish. ☘️
There never going to be objective about notre dame. They could play the top 5 ranked schools in the country and they would find a way to diminish that. They don't watch notre dame games to start.
Georgia got significant help from the officials... (Not a fan of either team). We need to figure out how to create sold kind of accountability! Coaches can't even talk about it without getting fined... Is time to start fining refs... We have the technology to verify. And get rid of the strips rule that certain penalties can't be reviewed!
Dan, is your guy’s friendship/partnership gonna survive the Big10 champ game?? Is Ty ready for Lanning to point his motivational guns at Franklin, to be turned into another great Ducks vs Them video? One last question, “are you not entertained”?? 👎🏼 🦆😁🦆
Ty here, and I'm going to try my best at trash talk this week just to add some spice to the pod. Our friendship will survive, but only if Penn State wins.
Why didn't Ohio State have a back up plan besides the run .. With like at least two top receivers in all of college football.... Literally just insisting to run and not adjusting to the actual situation.... Seriously? Ryan Day even defended it the press conference. "We had to run to win".... Huh???? No you need to face reality and adjust
Unfortunately, it's the streaming software and it's incredibly frustrating. You can check the podcast audio here (www.podfollow.com/solidverbal) -- you won't find another show that sounds better!
It wasn't just one guy. Those back shoulder throws were there all game, whether at Christian Gray or anyone else. One-on-one out wide was an issue and a better passing team beats ND, and I'm saying that as a ND fan.
@ other than Christian grey the DBs won most of their battles. You can rewatch the game and count. They were going after Christian grey cuz he was doing the worst
@ outside of the garbage time td USC got with 15 seconds or whatever left ND gave up 28. Subtract 14 of that from pick 6s. DBs were tested and got it done. Forced a turnover on 4th down as well and made USC punt 3 or 4 times.
@@solidverbal who’s the better passing team? USC has top tier talent at WR, and the QB played by far his best game. Louisville was held in check, they to are an elite passing team. Now you’re telling us Penn State can throw on Notre Dame? lol, that’s dumb
Thanks for the comment, Ed. We're on the same side here, I just have a different view of things. For one, Louisville absolutely does not have an elite passing offense (they're 33rd in passing success rates). Two, the "better passing teams" I'm referring to are the ones ND is likely to meet in the playoffs. Three, despite Penn State's issues, there is no universe in which Jayden Maiava is better than Drew Allar. Four, USC definitely has talent on offense, but the problem is that the sum always feels less than the parts. If the offense were truly buttoned-up with top tier talent, USC wouldn't be 6-6. I love ND's defense, but my worry is that they're going to struggle against better offenses in the CFP. Hope I'm wrong about that.
X PAC -12 fan... Consider this ? As long as re-alignment is upon us... The "BIG Ivy League" Duke, Vandy, Rice, Tulsa, Ga. Tech.,Tulane , Cal and Stanford They can all ;read and write;.
I'd add Virginia long before I added Ga Tech. Tulsa and Tulane are also crap colleges that don't belong anywhere near this list. I like the idea of Big Ivy, but you need to focus on top-notch colleges. Duke, Vandy, Northwestern, Virginia, Stanford, Cal, Rice and, if they'd join, add UCLA, USC, and UNC. Notre Dame would be the big add here. Then, you could add in Ga Tech and others that hit lower in the academic rankings if you can't get those others.
SC lost to both Ole Miss and Bama. They're out. Bamas loss by 21 two weeks ago(without a TD) is more embarrassing than OM's fluky loss to Kentucky by 3
Conference is so dumb. Its so arbitrary. So if syracuse lost to ohio bobcats, but beats a terrible Stanford team, now they play for an acc title and playoff spot. That makes them a top 12 team in the country? This what Conference people are arguing. Syracuse lost to stanford, boston college and was blew out by pittsburgh. But hey, conference champ if they can beat the team from the American conference, SMU!

GA Tech’s Haynes King had a legendary game. Georgia’s staff and players had nothing but praise for King.

Alabama had two really hopefully loses. After that Oklahoma disaster... There's no way a 9 and 3 Alabama should be in the playoff!
Mario Cristobal kicking that FG should be studied in a lab. He traded needing a stop and a FG for needing a stop and a FG.

Some blatant holding in OT by Georgia for sure but I expect it when they’re at home.

Ohio States O line is not built to run the ball. Surprised they didn’t just throw the ball all day considering Will Johnson was out.

Really it was one ND db that had a bad game, and he got the first pick 6. The rest of the DBs won most of the battles. Kind of a lazy take

OSU by far the most expensive college football team in history FAILS against its mediocre rival. Poetic JUSTICE.
It's pretty mindblowing. To be fair, they could still win the national title, but even still, pretty wild the way the regular season ended for them.
Consider the recruiting implications. 😮
ugas o line dominated? you sure you watched the game? 2 sacks and 5 pressures allowed on 49 snaps....go dawgs!
