Oof… third comment on the same video? I guess I have a lot to say…. I just finished Dreamers and The Boy Who Was Kissed and I absolutely loved both of them!! Dreamers is my official comfort read now, I enjoyed it so so so much!! I’m rereading it soon, that’s for sure. The Boy Who Was Kissed was just as good and the ending was so perfect! I read the book in a day (well started last night but read it in about 24 hours :D but I also read really slowly) I could not put the book down and I loved it so so so much ❤❤❤❤❤ (Edit: I tend to forget about the dedication, but I just found it, and it may have made me tear up… meant a lot to me, thank you)
🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏 Congratulations Thom!!! 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏 I loved Darla's cameow 🤭🤭🤭 She's like 'why aren't there any feline characters in this book? Am I not inspiring enough, father?'
When I get the book (I still need to order it 😭) it’s going on my shelf right next to you other books. which your books sit right next to Alice Oseman’s books!! There is not really an order on that shelf (it’s my queer shelf) and your books sit right next to heartstopper :)
🧨✨🎉 👏👏🙌🥳🎆🎇There can never be too much release day celebration! Congratulations!! (It's already tomorrow here and The Boy Who Was Kissed arrived on my kindle 20 minutes ago. YAY ☺)
Congratulations on another book release! 🥳 I'm very excited for this one. The premise sounds right up my alley. Also, amazing timing: today is a holiday here, so I will be able to spend as much time as I want reading. 😊 (Yes, I am also pretending that I'm writing this on Monday.)
I’m so excited about the release!!!! Congratulations!!! I’m going to try and order it soon!! (I’m so behind on reading Dreamers 😥 ((I’m also listening to the series Heroes of Olympus which is the second series in Percy Jackson)) but I will try to finish it soon, it’s sooo good so far!) I’m so excited to read the new book!!❤❤
Grats on the Book Release and the Heartstopper tee! So jealous you got the tee!! XD Always a good idea to wash those before you wear them, lots of chemicals lol We do love a traumatized queer story of friends reuniting and figuring life out through the drama and emotions. Sometimes you just end up writing something you don't like because you subconciously want to write it better to your taste out of spite :p Hope work slows down for ya soon just for your own sake lol
Oh, believe me, I always wash clothes before I wear them, though I figured it wouldn't hurt to not do that this one time - but I was very wrong about that. 😆
Sorry to be negative but as an artist I boycott all books with AI cover "art". I'm not saying this to be a hater (I actually hate to potentially bring you down here), I can guess your reasons for doing that, but I find it disappointing. I don't think using AI is sending a good message. I never get commissioned to do cover art even though it's kind of always been my dream to get to do it so seeing robots stealing those dreams even further away from my grasp is really depressing.
The official cover itself actually does not use AI cover art - the cover was done by the publisher, and the artist received payment for their work. It's only the promotional images that use art from Adobe Firefly, which I was under the impression was ethically sourced? (At least, that's what I was under the impression was the case, though of course correct me if that's wrong.) And in general, I completely agree - I've paid for art of my characters to be done by actual artists when I've been able to afford to do so. But I'm also someone who doesn't have the financial resources to do that regularly, so I occasionally use Adobe Firefly to generate images of my characters for use in promotional images/just for fun. I totally get where you're coming from, but I'd hate to think you're boycotting my book for this reason.
With all of that said, I definitely don't want to send the wrong message to the artists I know (and those I don't), so I've changed the video thumbnail and the cover on my website to non-AI-generated art. I can't make any changes to the video itself since it's already been uploaded, but I will try to be more mindful of this issue in the future. I gain a lot of joy from seeing what my characters might look like via tools like Firefly, but I also understand that any use of AI to create images can be seen as a slap in the face to people who have worked their entire lives to perfect their own art. I'm not sure how to bridge this gap (as someone who wants to respect artists but also is broke pretty much all the time), but I'm going to continue pondering it and considering the thoughts of others on the subject.

Congrats Thom!! I love this premise and can’t wait to give the book a read. Sounds delightful :)

Dreamers is a fantastic book and I cannot wait to dive into this new book. Luckily, I don’t need to wait, it’s available on my Kindle right now 😃

Nah that's understandable XD Respect the attempt at least
