The atmosphere after leaving Xen was phenomenal in this mod, all the silence and ambience, and the emptiness in the facility was genuinely uncomfortable, it did a great job of making the player feel left behind and alone.

honesty? this is 10x better then echoes imo. echoes is wonderful don’t get me wrong and i love it but the fakeout of kevin being dead long ago was just so cool. compare that to echoes where everytime you see another person they die offscreen a minute later.
1:05:46 legend soldier, single-handedly survived an alien airstrike and still managed to praise his colleague for sniper school skill.

I love how this mod not only finds a way to use all of the cut enemies, but it also uses its own creative voice lines and references loads of half life based fan remakes and mods for example hlvr, not only that but we even see blue shit opposing force and decay being referenced along side race x and the black ops
In all honesty this mod was worth the wait and i am glad people are able to enjoy it.

Unofficial perspectives for Decay (6:17, 41:33, 1:16:23, 2:33:44), Blue Shift (1:24:43) and Opposing Force (1:25:48, 1:30:05, 2:37:54). It's like taking the best of the three and expanding upon it in every aspect.
I tried nocliping in the decay next to the pool and try to kill Gina and Colette and they seem to be invincible
Also I killed Richard Keller by nocliping too
You also see the room G-Man was in during the Heart to Heart scene

this mod's saying that THIS soldier is the exact same that saw gina and colette and meeting barney for like 5 seconds, but also was the one in opposing force as the one on the stretcher?
Funfact: You can actually kill Barney in 1:24:43 however you'll fail your mission by creating a temporal paradox

This mod is grade A+ fantastic! Everything about it is awesome with its map design to matching the events of HL Expansions like seeing Barney, Gina, Colette, Dr. Keller, Adrian, and including seeing Eli and Kleiner as a cameo.
It's interesting to see that despite Stefan's efforts of escaping the facility, he eventually died along from the nuclear explosion which was huge enough to wipe out anything left which then hit Stefan's truck on his way out.
No witnesses
Eli and Kleiner? Where was that? I just finished it, loved all of it (marking this down as my favorite Opposing Force mod!) bringing the quality and the quantity, but it sounds like I missed some easter eggs.
I think the only cameo I found was Gina and Colette.

Actually, I'm not sure if you saw but G-Man appeared at the end. He didn't walk away so it might be hinting at something like maybe a sequel? or probably just to show Stefan may still be alive.

you forgot to mention that it included stalkyard 2:48:57 , the multiplayer map. that flashed me. i was hoping it included datacore aswell
To me this is better than Opposing Force itself. Yes it needs some patching, some map fixes, but still. It feels longer, and here we have more and better HECU allies, but also Black Mesa allies... and enemies!
- Seriously: In Opposing Fore, every single encounter with a guard or scientist is a one minute thing, or less. Most can barely move in the first place. The maps are are beautifully done, they feel like more like Black Mesa than in Op4. And the enemies, we have more of the best ones here, with even new ones or new variations. No lacking here, unlike in Opposing Force. Do you guys remember how many security guard zombies or alien grunts does that game have? Four! ....
In a nutshell everything I liked about Opposing Force, this game offers more of it.
Downloaded before I even finished the intro cutscene, THREE AND A HALF HOURS. And that's at Bolloxed tier gameplay. This would've flown completely under my radar without being subscribed to this great channel.

Yea 3.5 hours for bolloxed means this is roughly a 6 hour game
This mod has the same quality as the official add-ons for half-life 1, it can be seen that the authors tried their best on the project.

Definetly. Besides, he can manipulate space, time, energy and matter.
Imagine an equally long sequel to this as a hl2 mod where the main character joins the rebels
If you look at G-man, you can see he doesn’t leave Stefan after seeing him on the ground so this implies that he could still be alive and he knows it plus Stefan was pretty far from Black Mesa by the time the bomb in it blew.
Imagine if there was a black mesa mod version of this and it had stefan wounded walking down the road until he falls down and then gman appears, with gman giving a speech that's vague in the sense that you dont know if stefan was hired or detained like Adrian shepard, and then the game ends right before he makes his final veredict

I just played this last week and I’m impressed with the gameplay and the story, I also love the references in the game like seeing Gina and Colette, the Aperture radio from Portal, and the locker that has the name Benry from HLVRAI. I like the idea of seeing the objectives and the thoughts that your character is thinking about
This mod already got the 2022 MOTY to me.
This mod took 13 years to be finished and its finally there... Im also recording it on my yt channel and its such great mod.

At minute 1:11:20 we can realize that this scene is a reference to half life Beta
which the one time encounter with the Kingpin was meant to happen in "Surface Tension"
According to story clippings and a video summary of "Half-Life - Cut Kingpin Overview" by youtuber user "MarphitimusBlackimus" said that:
"Finding a Kingpin under attack by the military, the player could free it and help fight its captors"

I called this Kingpin as "Advisor (Xen Form)" from HL2💀
This is actually the same area too, however, it was planned for the player to encounter the kingpin being under attack, and if the player shot the H.E.C.U marines, the kingpin would become a ally somehow.

I've been playing HL mods since the PC Gamer demo disc days. As soon as I found the article for this, it was like an amazing gift. The old excitement of playing a new perspective for Black Mesa was made fresh again. Major props to the developers. You brought some joy back for this HL fan.
I really liked this mod, since it fixed the part of the AI of the characters, since in the original, the characters did not follow you or got stuck in such a part that even shoots you if you get in front of them, which is why it makes their AI very clumsy, and here I see that they have fixed it in this mod, making at least one less deficient AI and making them even cooler, and I also really liked that they have put the ability to follow you to more NPCs instead of only 4 or 3 over there, so very good mod, and it had impressed me that he had not escaped, but that an atomic bomb had reached him!!!
Just beat this mod, surprisingly the voiceacting was far better in the version I've played. The overall quality of this project blows everything else out of the water, it's probably the greatest Black Mesa themed mod of them all. An absolute masterpiece.

damn, finally a mod where you play as the Good Guys.
I don't usually watch HL1 mods, but this one is great. So much variety in scenery and action. I'd say this beats Opposing Force for sure.
This is my fave of the mods I've tried so far. I subscribed to this channel as a result. I've just discovered mods and can't believe what I've been missing all these years.
Now I see why Valve still fixes some bugs and misstakes such as the OppForce marines path finding. Lovely mod that would be a nightmere with old path finding.
For those who don’t know, the alien at 2:27:28 is called a Kingpin
I didn't know that. Fitting though, took me a long time to figure out how to kill it with 1hp.

Just finished this. There were a handful of spots I got stuck on so the walk through was excellent at guiding me through those. But what a game. Absolutely loved it. More of a challenge than HL classic, but without being unbeatable. Got lots of mods to go but that was by far the best one so far. Your playing is amazing as well mind.
Watching all of these mod playthroughs is inspiring me to make a Half-Life mod myself

There's a lot of work put into this mod, and I always appreciate mods that introduce new gameplay elements or have actual new voice lines (instead of using the old ones). The new squad mechanics are a great improvement. But at the moment where the protagonist and the Black Mesa personnel AGAIN turned from foes to friends in literally five second, the plot felt like a mishmash of references to the original Half-Life and its add-ons rather than a cohesive story. :(

This is the best half life mod ever… I’m currently playing it. I wish opposing force when released back in 1998 or 1999 it was like this with many soldier team work.

I downloaded this mod 6 days ago, and I just finished it in the hard difficulty. What a truly Masterpiece, the full detail and passion that was put in this mod is out of this world. It's truly amazing, everyone should play it. Echoes is next, I suppose.

1:18:01 - The headcrab trap room.
As of v1.2, there is still a possible exploit to do it with minimal loss of hp.
In the most recent version, if you hop onto the shelves nearby you can minimize the amount of danger you're in. Ultimately though, this fight is more of a HP check than an actual fight
@@medicindisquise4271 Shelves? Inside the storage room? Yes I suppose. The trick is to keep that door open both at the start and at the end of the fight.

Очень классный мод, считай что он самый длинный и сложно проработанный, хоть его нельзя назвать особым ведь это просто мод про еще одного солдата прошевшего все вторжение пришельцев от начала и до взрыва боеголовки, жаль конечно что он не выжил хотя а может и выжил, кто его знает

По сути это opposing force на максималках, каким он мог бы быть если бы над аддоном постарились бы сильнее. А вообще интересно 1:25:11 - это получается что события OP только начинаются, когда заканчивается BS? И что в рамках лора этого мода, события оригинального аддона занимают уже последнюю часть хронологии, когда солдаты уже отчаливают...
Также жду мода Dark Matter за черных оперативников, который обещают на уровне echoes и этого, и в целом на уровне оригинальных аддонов...

@@Nezercross вроде были новости по проекту в 2024-м, автор кое-какие скриншоты публиковал. Но если тот мод делали 13 лет с 2009-го, а этот заанонсили в 2019-м, то... хрен его знает, сколько разработка продлится, может там реально будет приличный хронометраж сюжета сравнимый с этим, или чуть меньше, хз, вообще я не думаю что в игре за черных оперативников есть что-то сверхестественное, эдакий постал на минималках, в рамках халфы, говорилось что охранники будут сразу нас атаковать, если живые простые работники в виде ученых будут, как интересно с ними будет взаимодействие, дадут ли побыть хорошим парнем или нет, все-таки как никак, цель ЧО - полная зачистка...
Вообще самое интересное что в моде возможно будет (для меня) - это авторское видение мира расы X. Были ли кстати моды где мы попадаем в их мир? Слышал что в модах Operation Rosenberg/Rift есть портал в их мир, но я ничего такого не нашел.
