As someone who doesn’t play MK. Just from a viewer standpoint MK11 was cool to watch but MK1 looks insanely fun and kinda makes me want to get into MK.
I feel like the mixups in MK1 are similar to the mixes in MK11. There’s a good amount of characters that have OH/low mixups using strings/special moves in MK11. MK1 just ramps this up because just about every character can have mix with frost and their strings. I feel like the mix blenders won’t be too bad if u can punish some of their options.
MK11 def has its frustrating features like getting punished for landing a hit and they breakaway … but I don’t like how everyone just constantly bashes it to no end. Not saying in particular you did, but just Overall
I really enjoyed this video. One important point you made was perhaps one of the best things about Mortal Kombat 1, NO VARIATIONS! I am so relieved about this.
Combo strings, finishers, enhance back on RT and no variations just tons of specials and cameos... I'm so stoked! Plus it looks snappy af. Probably in the minority but keeping mk11's FB mechanic isn't my favorite. It feels too easy
Im pretty sure that variations or specialmove selects that we had in mk11 are coming back. For example li mei in the beta, no way thats all of her moveset. She has great moves but it looks like there will be more. Same goes with liu kang, kenshi, johnny, kitana and sub zero.
@@squidward5746 Everyone's moveset seems pretty comparable to how they were in MK9 in terms of size. Besides, if they were coming back, they would have told us and shown it off by now.
For me I liked the Krushing Blows and the interactable environment. Made the game more dynamic for me. I'm less worried about sustaining long ass combos and more about it feeling like a genuine fight to the death. Of course, that's just my opinion. Competitive players don't like it when I say that. But it is what it is.
Demon Dash is a super good punish but I got your point since Hellport is just as good. I mostly agree with the comparison, altough I'm gonna miss the interactables too 😔 they were a big help for flashy combos but now we've got loads of Kameos who are essentially will serve the same purpose 😉

The only thing I don't like in mk1 is having no flawless block reversals, but besides that everything is much better than mk11, especially having breakers back and fatal blows getting nerfed to the ground

The damage scaling thing with your 24 hit li mei combo only scaled so much because of the freeze from frost. Freezing your enemies, be it frost or sub zero's moves, will scale your damage a ton
@@Diff its sub zero too. If i do a long combo that started from ice clone or ice ball, the fb will scale like crazy. But if there are no freezes involved, the damage scaling isn't that bad. Kenshi being the best is no surprise, he's pretty crazy
I think fb scales with the number of hits in the combo. Ending long combos with fb isnt worth it unless it kills. Hitconfirming a single string into fb gives more damage
I saw sub players waiting until the frame after freeze ends to start their combos. It's like there is still a frame or 2 of stun when the ice disappears
I totally agree with you on the move sets ever since they nerfed his teleport they should have given him an extra move as basic move or make a few moves just 1 slot... Since they didn't he is definitely mid too low tier!
While I definitely like the long flashy combos I feel like the damage scaling in mk1 needs to be turned up a bit because from what I can see so far, some characters can take out a whole health bar in just two 40+% damage combos and that's not a good thing imo...

I'll say both of them. the reason why i said that:- 1-mk11 is better 10/10 has good stage, good character for combo, etc 2-mk1 is also 10/10 i love when old characters are back like quan chi, takeda, ermac, etc. And kameo so fun to use kameo i hope mk1 as better as mk11
You broke them down pretty well I never play much mk 11 cuz it was hard for me to learn I finally learn for mk what 1,2,3,4 mean as the buttons so I think I'ma try my best on mk 1 hopefully I'll be able to learn combos
it turns easy once you realize that you have to press the buttons only the necessary and not overcommit, that is basically the key, as well as timing correctly
Immediately after I was done with the MK1 beta i uninstalled MK11, it just didn't feel playable lol and i wanted to stop MK for a while to be excited for the release.

This is random and late, but if you’re still struggling with amplify, I was too, and I set block/amplify to R1 and kameo to R2 and it takes a while to get used to, but it’s soooo worth it. I’ve literally never drop because I can’t amplify
They took away KBs and juiced up the damage, but if you think about it the damage doesn't come free, you need atleast one or two meters and a kameo to get decent damage and the Ex-meters don't build up automatically. Also, they really nerf the damage done by FBs if used in a combo
5:06 from what i understand up block not only works with jump ins but also with overheads. If that's true the mix mind game will be crazy because you could get fully punished if for instance you throw out li mei's low to overhead and it gets up blocked😳
A major difference I missed. Meter isn’t auto regenerating in MK1 - This is a good thing in my opinion. You gain meter by getting hit by the opponent or having your attacks blocked. It regains quickly!

The meters in MK11 sucks ass. It feels like didn't earn it instead we just waited for it to fill. It's a stupid decision really. Should've made fill by being attack and the offense meter by attacking it's that simple
I feel like mk2 should get rid of fatal blows . Add. Slightly bigger health bar and add more environmental blows. So if you’re getting your ass whooped you don’t get to use fatal blow you have to use environment. I also hope they make it to where their Clothes rip and blood stays in them and the longer the fight goes they look more tired . Finally instead of fatal blow use it for the brutalities. And fatalities can be the same .
Great help 4 thumbs up. Amplified is a good explanation bcuz i did not play MKX i played MK11. I am sure as the game comes out ill be able to see plenty of tutorials about these things you mentioned and i am sure you also going to do tutorials for us who has not got a chance to study the Beta or even use it like myself. From my point of view Mortal Kombat 11 is better than 1, MK1 might get better eventually, but I still prefer 11 mainly because the character default designs look cooler and almost iconic to their original classic skins in the game. I also love both the Kombat packs and the special guest characters which really suit them in Mortal Kombat 11, Especially in my favorite The Joker! Lastly, I got the switch version for $8.99 from a discount event and to be honest I absolutely enjoyed that version, Sure and yes the graphics don't look that pretty but at least it plays and looks Lord's better than the MK1 switch port at least. Mortal Kombat 11 is my main!
I’m glad the interactables are gone. It was so annoying when you wanted to amplify a move but instead you triggered an interactable. They should’ve designated the switch stance button for it instead of the amplify button.

Mk 11 is awesome for a few days, enjoying the visuals, characters, lore, unlocking stuff. But controlling the characters does not really feel nice. You should try sf 6 for example or any older mk game to see the difference im talking about

First, 11:00 The one change I was always wishing for in mk11 is for scorpion to be able to use hell port cancel with death spear combo. Imagine being able to tele cancel after F3, 2. Plus, you get the second ender for 2,1. The mixes and pressure options could have been sublime. In my opinion, that scorpion would automatically become A tier character. Everybody would play that variation if it was available. I don't fully agree with mk11 having mixes only at the start of a string. Many character have mixes at the end of their strings using their specials: scorpion with misery blade, sindel can mix with a low attack which in the end of a string or an overhead with whip and flip, geras can mix overhead attack or the low sand trap, nightwolf , and probably more i can't recall right now. All around, I like mk11 better.

MK X was all offense no defense. MK11 was all defense no offense. Has MK1 struck a happy medium? Or are we back to two touches and your dead? I don't have a PS5 to order the game on so I haven't played the beta. Any input on this question would be useful.
Already own both both are enjoyable just depends on witch one you prefer more updates for mortal kombat 1 have recently came out to fix most of the issues for the most part does help keeping both regardless really was hoping injustice 3 would've came first to be honest 😊😊❤
My opinion, MK11 is better because it's on all platforms, not just certain ones. When it was announced that MK1 is only released for PS5 and Xbox One Series, I was livid. So MK11 is better. I'm pretty sure MK1 is 🔥, which is why I wanted to play it, but since it's "not compatible" for Xbox One, WB Games is HORRIBLE.
I'm a Mortal Kombat Fan/player since ages and: MK1 they fucked up, my opinion. No Scorpion, but callin a person that looks like him Kuai Liang. WTF is that? I just like graphics, the stages are better, but the story is not logical and I find the game in general a much smaller , shrinked version of MK11. Such a shame... I tell u why: Keep in mind: - no stage fatalies, - not have the possibility to make "ur own character, another one", - no level interactables anymore, - Test your luck is gone - test you might towers too gone, only sometimes you can do one single try - character-towers are gone, -. no real krypt - not having the real Hanzo Hasahi anymore- instaed Kuai Liang in Scorpions Body , (stupid) - Towers of time are gone too - no ai battles anymore too, - no crushing blows anymore - the story is short (only 4 hours playtime) shrinked version. - The Shirai Ryu kinda never existed (sad) - So Hanzo looks like Scorpion, but is Kuai Liang - means- no real Scorpion anymore - AND you are FORCED to play with a Kameo- can't play 1 vs. 1 anymore The developers seemed to have focused on casual gamers- instead of real fans. It's really really shame what happened there....No one here likes that version. It makes me sad to play with a Kuai Liang that looks like Scorpion. To the developers: If you "erase" the Anti-Hero, then at least with a logical way. That's my opinion. Disappointing...☹ MK 1 It's very simplified- towards mK11. 👎 A sad result...such a shame I could not wait to play it and than THAT. 😕 To everyone who likes it- have fun playing and a good day.
11 for now mk1 fights end quickly with easy juggle combos and everybody wins with sub zero till the point it’s predictable slide hammer hammer freeze matter of fact every thing’s predictable but that’s just my beta experience
MK1 has creativity akin to MKX when it comes to combos. MK11 was very disappointing for me in that regard. Both feel "heavy" which I dont like (I prefer MKX speed or Tekken8 speed for example) but purely cause of the combo potential i think MK1 wins.

The damage is probably juiced up because krushing blows in mk11 made up a majority of the damage NRS wanted you to earn in combos.

Yes, up blocking those overheads leads to crazy punishes.

I feel MK11 gets way too much hate. That game is visually beautiful! Still really fun!

Mk 11 is awesome for a few days, enjoying the visuals, characters, lore, unlocking stuff. But controlling the characters does not really feel nice. You should try sf 6 for example or any older mk game to see the difference im talking about
Dont take the damage or combo options out, i like an arcady mk with fast matches and unfair quick match ending combos
As of now mk11 because apparently less base roster characters in mk1 and be rushing their asses with kameos that nobody asked for

In terms of gameplay and getting good with people is it harder then mk11 or easier?
MK11 had a very heavy slow feel to it compared to the other games. MK1 is a lot more fluid and and a little bit faster. Much better than MK11 IMO

Does this game feel newcomer friendly? Or does it feels like it caters to the competitive scene at the expense of casuals/newcomers? It's not clear if this game teaches you how to play the game effectively right now.
Newcomer friendly. I bet the full release will have a robust training mode. You can play this game just like MK11 if you wanted to and have a great tome

First, 11:00 The one change I was always wishing for in mk11 is for scorpion to be able to use hell port cancel with death spear combo. Imagine being able to tele cancel after F3, 2. Plus, you get the second ender for 2,1. The mixes and pressure options could have been sublime. In my opinion, that scorpion would automatically become A tier character. Everybody would play that variation if it was available.
I don't fully agree with mk11 having mixes only at the start of a string. Many character have mixes at the end of their strings using their specials: scorpion with misery blade, sindel can mix with a low attack which in the end of a string or an overhead with whip and flip, geras can mix overhead attack or the low sand trap, nightwolf , and probably more i can't recall right now.
All around, I like mk11 better.

I don't have a PS5 to order the game on so I haven't played the beta. Any input on this question would be useful.
Already own both both are enjoyable just depends on witch one you prefer more updates for mortal kombat 1 have recently came out to fix most of the issues for the most part does help keeping both regardless really was hoping injustice 3 would've came first to be honest 😊😊❤
My opinion, MK11 is better because it's on all platforms, not just certain ones. When it was announced that MK1 is only released for PS5 and Xbox One Series, I was livid. So MK11 is better. I'm pretty sure MK1 is 🔥, which is why I wanted to play it, but since it's "not compatible" for Xbox One, WB Games is HORRIBLE.

I'm a Mortal Kombat Fan/player since ages and:
MK1 they fucked up, my opinion. No Scorpion, but callin a person that looks like him Kuai Liang.
WTF is that? I just like graphics, the stages are better, but the story is not logical and I find the game in general a much smaller , shrinked version of MK11. Such a shame... I tell u why:
Keep in mind:
- no stage fatalies,
- not have the possibility to make "ur own character, another one",
- no level interactables anymore,
- Test your luck is gone
- test you might towers too gone, only sometimes you can do one single try
- character-towers are gone,
-. no real krypt
- not having the real Hanzo Hasahi anymore- instaed Kuai Liang in Scorpions Body , (stupid)
- Towers of time are gone too
- no ai battles anymore too,
- no crushing blows anymore
- the story is short (only 4 hours playtime) shrinked version.
- The Shirai Ryu kinda never existed (sad)
- So Hanzo looks like Scorpion, but is Kuai Liang - means- no real Scorpion anymore
- AND you are FORCED to play with a Kameo- can't play 1 vs. 1 anymore
The developers seemed to have focused on casual gamers- instead of real fans.
It's really really shame what happened there....No one here likes that version. It makes me sad to play with a Kuai Liang that looks like Scorpion.
To the developers:
If you "erase" the Anti-Hero, then at least with a logical way.
That's my opinion. Disappointing...☹

Fatal blows in MK1 scale like 9 and 10's x-rays. It was pretty much the same, stay grounded and don't freeze the opponent
Not a huge fan of that personally, but i don’t plan on using frost with scorpion!

I’m unable to consistently enhance moves. It works 1/10 times in MK1. I’ve only played MK11
mk 1 strikes the right balance between mk11 and mkx as in not overly allowing broken

Broken is fine. It's a fighting game
11 for now mk1 fights end quickly with easy juggle combos and everybody wins with sub zero till the point it’s predictable slide hammer hammer freeze matter of fact every thing’s predictable but that’s just my beta experience
MK1 has creativity akin to MKX when it comes to combos. MK11 was very disappointing for me in that regard.
Both feel "heavy" which I dont like (I prefer MKX speed or Tekken8 speed for example) but purely cause of the combo potential i think MK1 wins.
So does mk1 have the speed of mkx???
@@JimmyKudo93 Its more like MK11 but a bit faster. However you can use dash block which is an advanced technique to move faster.

Is mk1 as hard as mkx? Im not very good at mkx, can't even really do a combo. Mk11 I'm actually decent at, it felt more user friendly.
I played the beta. To me, mk1 is “easier” because mkx was going at 100mph and it could be overwhelming at times. Mk1 feels really fun so far
