What's great about this particular version of this track is that he was sick on/around that day. Normally he easily nails the clean parts after the high pitched rough vocals, but here, the illness it ads this little bit of edge to his clean vocals near the end of the track, giving those parts just that little bit extra rawness and heartfelt energy. I'm not sure if it's super high quality, but it's pretty good, maybe you can use a streaming service instead?
Very underrated band!
Phil Spector Wall of Sound in full display with Devin, his voice is a force
Damn you should really react to Periphery - Reptile. It's a long track but an absolute masterpiece. I think you'd like it!
Devin hits ya deep. From any angle he wants to. Any emotion he can perfectly emulate it musically
The instinctive hand to throat when Devin is screaming is one of my favourite parts of these reactions. Reminds me of the first time I heard this one.
THANK YOU
Awesome review! Check out Devin Townsend - Bring Him Home live at CBC radio! Cheers
Yes! He can sing anything!
Devin 'Wall of Sound' Townsend is always a good listen.
This track is made huge by this performance. This is an old track by Devy that benefited a lot from his modern interpretation.
The first track you heard was from a newer album, Transcendence. My personal favourite from the album is Higher, and worth a listen 👍
GREAT CHOICE, MY FAVOURITE dEVIN SONG ( AND ALSO THE FIRST I EVER HEARD OF HIS )
Strapping young Lad - Almost Again Please react to this you will love it. some amazing guitar work, and unbelievable vocal performance from Devin Townsend and some of the best metal drumming there is and my favourite groove of all time!
I’m curious to see how you would react to Coheed and Cambria. They’re a concept band that base their albums (except one of them) on a graphic novel written by their lead singer. So all their songs follow some sort of story and each really has their own kind of genre, some songs are kinda more “poppy” than others.
One of may favourite reactors reacting to my favourite song.Like before watching it.
Shame that the video got blocked. Devin would be into what you do here big time. That has to have been Warner 100%. His newest album would likely be an eargasm for a composer. I hope you've heard it!
Devin uses shimmer and chrystal echo. So that might be the synth your hearing. He also has a signature pedal with moer doing reverby goodness
