Love your videos Isaac, always thoughtful and interesting. Ghostbusters 2016 was the first, or among them, in the contemporary playbook of finding an IP with a large, passionate fanbase that is willing to spend money on their favorite fiction and then deconstructing it and ditching everything that made that IP special and quality, and replacing those things with post-modern and progressive trash. Rings of Power is a particularly galling recent example; Tolkien would be rolling over in his grave if he could see what they've done with his work (even worse his estate went along with it). And Top Gun Maverick isn't even "anti woke" or "non woke" either, look at the cast and Maverick's co-pilots. Pretty "modern audience" looking to me. While I agree that Top Gun and Ghostbusters 2016 obviously faced totally different reception, the latter was such a horrible movie on so many levels that I don't know that "appealing to the Christian audience" is necessarily the critical differentiating factor between the two. Jack Epps Jr was totally right in his observation, but maybe wording it as "western values" would work better, since the things we as a society value have been coopted by various religious figureheads, but if you dig into the dogma are not really "judeo-christian values" as certain politicians like to call them. but the most confusing thing about your video is your choice to use Ghostbusters 2016 as the comparison when there have been two movies released in the franchise since then including and they each had release dates very close to TGM's. TGM is a sequel to the original while GB2016 is not a sequel... but GB Afterlife is, so why not use that or GB Frozen Empire for the comparison. this feels strangely cherrypicked especially since the return on investment was arguably lower for GBA/GBFE despite them being much better received overall. you are accidentally falling into the culture war with near-baseless comparisons and attempts to claim the side you don't present to be on hates the things we actually all have in common. finally, people who hate on Ghostbusters 2016 just don't get that they aren't the target audience. it's not a good movie but it's not exactly awful, it's just a stupid movie starring multiple SNL actors and a few big names meant to keep middle-school-aged children entertained and make their parents laugh too, much like the original. it was never supposed to build on the Ghostbusters legacy or be some grand amazing return or even a sequel.

There are plenty of other movies that are macho or woke and fail miserably. You don't have to make it about someone being woke. 4. Respecting your fans and listening to them has nothing to do with being woke or Christian. 5. Maveriks is well documented in BTS and even in some promotional materials to use a lot of CGI, not sure if they used green screens a lot or not, but again, how does this relate to the culture war? 6. A Christian kind of story that you keep mentioning, totally neglects the fact that it could easily be called a Theological story, and would work with most religions, not just Christianity. Also, 1 movie's success doesn't mean every movie needs a Christian message inside to be successful. 7. How do these 2 movies prove Trump was destined to win anyway??? That is such a stretch. You just basically implicitly saying that Trump is a macho icon... He's not "woke" for sure, but Jesus, he's nothing to be proud of.
