Fun fact, Hanuman (monkey man, Indian godlike being) is also revered by the fictional. Jabari tribe in Black Panther
netflix originally had it headed for streaming, but jordan peele was so impressed by it that he picked it up for a theatrical push - so hopefully that's a really good sign of its quality

I believe Dev has a black belt in taekwondo. He's legit.
Dev Patel is a really good actor... watch Lion, he's one of the few who can actually do a convincing Australian accent.
Lion is a Fantastic Movie
Best thing about this is that Dev Patel has a black belt (not sure which martial arts) and has spent years perfecting it and been looking desperately for an action role, but no one in Hollywood takes him seriously, so he made the role for himself. Just shows how clueless Hollywood can be because not only is the man a great actor, he’s very clearly action hero material too. His talent as a writer is already known too as all the leads in Skins had involvement in writing the scripts although never got official writing credits. So I think after this film, whether it’s good or bad, Dev Patel will find himself very much so in demand from major studios which these days of course means Marvel and DC will be lining up first.

For many unaware. It ain't just a monkey. He's Hanuman, a lord in the Hindu Scripture RAMAYAN. He's a devout devotee of lord Ram and to save his wife Sita abducted by the evil Ravan, hanuman did burn the whole city of Lanka down and Ram killed Ravan in the end.
Yeah, so not just a monkey. He simbolises lord Hanuman.

You know what? Among all the Avatar team of Shyamalan Avatar, Dev Patel is the one who still exist in the industry, even manage to direct a movie now

I TOTALLY THOUGHT THE SAME EXACT THING!! The way they showed the monkey mask and the way they talked about the White Monkey god figure in the beginning of the trailer I thought he was going to be fighting crime dressed in that monkey mask or get some sort of powers from that god figure.

I'd also recommend Yakuza and Judgment franchises from RGG Studios and Sega. These video games are well known for their high octane action and cinema style storytelling.

@thefirstbourne149 From 2:55 onwards in the trailer the guy is literally waiting for his head to get smashed by the bottle😂 Don't get me wrong it mostly looks dope, but it highlights the difference between actor that's learnt fight choreo vs a martial artist or stunt person that's adept at choreo and moves more fluently
Seems like if horror directors want to try different genres, they switch to action movies first. Unless there are other examples out there, would love to hear other opinions

@@yuukisama2001 Right now Tollywood, Sandalwood are the biggest industries in India and not Bollywood. Bollywood doesn't have food content these days. South Indian movie industries(Tollywood, Sandalwood, Kollywood) are currently dominating India and Bollywood is busy remaking south indian industry movies.
