    When I went to Warlord Games in Nottingham, there were two players there who just put out their entire armies on the table and when I asked what points level it was, they said there were none. I asked how it was balanced. They said it wasn't. It is just war. You can find people to play this game in any style you want. It's not like 40K where you feel an arms race in every setting.

      BRO! Thank you so much for the next level super thanks. I was gonna say "Baneblade Chat" but maybe on a Warlord Wednesday it should be a King Tiger Chat!? xD
      Getting back to you comment, I find that the Bolt Action community is more open to just playing without equal points. For example, a lot of people when doing attacker/defender missions give the attacker a few more points because attacking can be quite hard.
      Whilst fixed points are essential for tournament play, it is really nice to see players who are open to just rolling dice and having fun :)

    The best beginner army for Germany is a single Maus and no I will not hear any counter arguments. Maus is love Maus is life.

    My problem with getting into this game, aside from the fact that I am not aware of anyone who plays it nearby, is that I cannot see myself stopping with just one army...

      Well,na feasible army for between £60 to £90 all in is hard to beat, and that's buying Warlords army boxes, may even be aet to get cheaper with other companies. Great game, it's all about the pinning for me. And yeah, I've the Brits, US and Gerries, easy enough to expand expand expand 😂

    I would love to see the same video format for the astra militarum, having just started collecting 40k models it would be nice to see a video showing a solid list with models easily accessible and without strange gimmick

    I took your advice and played almost this exact same army for my first game of Bolt Action.
    Only difference was that I used waffen ss for the fire teams and I didn't take the artillery piece.
    It was my first time playing the game so I expected to get beat pretty well. Neither volksgrenadier squad uprated and were pinned down all game. The truck was an absolute bullet magnet and the SS on board all killed save 2.
    I have since re-tooled the list, keeping just about everything except the truck and dropping the second fire squad for a full 10 man squad. Hopefully this new list will perform better.

    Mine are Heer Pioneer and Sturmpionier usually 8 man squads with a few 2-3 SMG's and a flamethrower and with the Sturms with the dual threat GrB - 39 grenade launcher where it can be used as a light mortar or a slightly less powerful Panzerschrek.

    The other benefit from swapping the Panzer 3 for a 4 is that you gain the Tiger fear rule

    So, my 2 penneth....
    1. Officer; always put 2 guys with him. They get the ARs for free whoch means 6 shots from the units = always puting a pin out
    2. Remove ARs from line infantry and take SMGs. If you've closed range witht he enemy then the SMG is uauslly enough.
    3. I'd say have the vets as your assaulty guys, so bunp up to 7 or 8 guys with the SMGs abd a panzerfaust
    4. I have becer taken Green troops, but I'd favour taking the rest of the army as Regulars, but im stuck in my ways
    4. My near always auto includes for a German army are; extra men with officers and spotters, Kublewagon with MMG, LMG 3-man regukar for 35pts, Flak Zweiling 38 double heavy autocannon, medium mortar #1, squads of 6 or more with rifles mostly, just the odd SMGs and most units to have at least one Panzerfaust, trucks at Regular with MMG and use them as mobile MGs for 54pts, as transports if the situation needs it. Id easy be chucking out 13 ir 15 pins a turn with that sort of build, but yeah, a bit super gamey.
    5. For your list I'd drop the MMG team to Inexperienced and keep it at range behind cover, it should last. If the Snioer does take a shot well its waiting its time shooting a fairly light unit of 35pts. The 15pts saved cpuld be used (along with dropping the ARs to SMGs) to get a coupoe extra guys and some panzerfausts.
    Either way its a fun army you have there and I'd like to play using it, somethibg differnrt from the maths Hammer approach ive waffled on about above.
    Oh, and the Morale value of veterans is 10, not 9. Sounds like you have done yourself a disservice....

    You’ve got great content man really. The Ba Stuff is spot on man. I watched this three times man. Genuinely would appreciate more like this if you got a script reader. Your voice is so distracting bruv. I’m trying to be respectful but this is on topic bc that’s why I had to watch this three times. DAKKA is 40K verbiage unless you refer in ta Dutch Armor Korps. STOP. love your videos tho man great work and solid effort

    I'd love to get into bolt action. I'd want start with the germans just because I admire the vehicles.
    The problem is: I'd miss the creativity of games like 40k.
    It's my favorite thing about the hobby is the freedom to build the army I want instead of being boxed into historical limitations. (Not that this is a bad thing all the time!)
    I am, however, very curious to know if those models can be combined with Guard from 40k, are the scales similar?

    • @Swrdfshtrmbns
      @Swrdfshtrmbns 9 месяцев назад +5

      I find bolt action has more creative freedom than 40K does in 10E. Guard in 10E is just the forced hero hammer of certain combinations to be competitive. Bolt action has way more diversity of viable options and the competitive impetus is much less. There are also more ways to play with either generic platoons or theatre selectors. If you play Germans you can play Heer, SS, Luftwaffe field divisions, Fallschirmjaeger, mechanized, motorized, tanks, infantry waves of veterans or inexperienced or regulars, etc. you can make your dudes however you want. Early war, mid war, late war, very historical, not very historical, it doesn’t matter. It’s whatever you want.

    • @wtfisthisnonsense
      @wtfisthisnonsense 9 месяцев назад

      @Swrdfshtrmbns You may have misinterpreted my comment.
      What I meant was, if I want to build, say, a steampunk themed army, in 40k, there's nothing to stop me from doing that. Or if I wanted an army from a feudal world, or a more technologically advanced army. I can do that. With Bolt action, I'm limited to a specific era and to specific regiments.
      There's nothing wrong with that if that's what you want, but I like to let my imagination run wild with my armies. I don't play competitively, I play for the cinematic moments, to see great looking armies on the battlefield.
      Its just how I enjoy the wargames hobby.

      @@wtfisthisnonsense Have you looked into Konflikt 47? It might have that more creative army build you are into, werewolves, zombies, regular soldiers, super soldiers, mechs, tanks, and it's the same system as bolt action. I haven't played it myself but it's on the list.
