It is worth noting that for the last 6 years in a row, at least 1 non-English language film has made the Best Picture lineup. Any expectation regarding which one could make it this year?
Totally agree about Coleman Domingo being on fire! I think his performance in The Color Purple helped make the case for his Rustin nomination. Sing Sing is my most anticipated film thus far!

The Academy has been embracing weirdness more of late, but only if it's not a horror movie. That's apparently their last hurdle. Although Silence of the Lambs did sweep, but that was a huge outlier.
I read conclave and I don’t know how people will react (if it’s faithful to the source materiel). The ending is something that I could see piss a lot of people off but who knows. There sure are strong characters and it should be a good movie we will just have to wait and see how well it does

@@gabrielcastaneda9700 It is not a shoe in. The Academy lately has shown it doesn't care that much about 'narratives' compared to a performance they really loved
I would really love to see Civil War get in as well, but I know it's a longshot

I wouldn't be surprised if the Academy completely ignores Joker in favor of Challengers.
In spirit of harmless predictions, I don't have any preference for either film, it's just something I could see happening.
I think "The End" with Michael Shannon and Tilda Swinton will be the best picture of 2024 because the director is Joshua OPPENHEIMER
