Really interesting seeing the variety of trucks out there. I currently drive a 60ft rear steer in the UK, only been driving 3 years and always on automatics. That's the only thing putting me off moving out there and taking up the job. I'd probably crunch my way through a few gearboxes!
SWMIKE100.........I think it's something to do with the fact that there are a lot of earthquake fault lines in New Zealand. The eight wheelers spread the load better. You see a lot of eight wheelers, even tractor units.

They are man made pine and blue gum forests cut every 20 to 25 years then replanted for the next rotation,the native forests are left alone
