Wouldn’t this particular set up be considered k guard? There’s no leg underneath controlling the far leg, which is why it’s k guard.

Yeah this is K guard. This looks like a preview from his instructional called X Guard Masterclass which is why it says X guard in the title. Under the contents of his instructional, there's one section called Triangle From K Guard so this is probably it.
