Akan's story is a typical example of the life of all LGBTI Iranian 6Rang (Iranian Lesbian and Transgender Network) has released a video of Akan's story of rejection, social pressure, and eventual escape to commemorate the International Transgender day of Remembrance, 20 Novemeber, which honours the memory of those killed by transphobic prejudice. The film shows the life of stigma faced by Iranians whose gender or sexual identity falls outside of a strict binary.
