He was an extremely reasonable guy. Even with Japan his entire thing was "yeah you tried to kill me but i understand it so no hard feeling about it, want to take over the world together with me?"
That Micro China must have been doing to simultaneously defend, and later counterattack, on four fronts (even if Korea was more 'seasonal' in nature) is genuinely so impressive, and Poland coming in to stabilise Russia was also cool.
Spud's series have had some noteworthy villains (not bad dudes usually they just played a role). Off the top of my head I can think of American Bloodbath - Plastic's Gran Colombia (redeemed and supplanted by Aragon Italy) Poland series - VirtualRock's Russia Bavaria series - Crono's Joker Burgundy Hungary series - the universe itself Bolton's China is a good addition to the rogues gallery
Virtual Rock kept trying to come to a peaceful friendship until it was too late (took western expansion). I wouldn't call him the "villian". Spud insisted on fighting, and he did what he had to do in order to survive given the circumstances.
Bernard is as always quite the entire game until out of nowhere comes in and changes the game entirely. How can one man be so powerfull? Truly a testiment to the great man of history theory

well this is the first Campaign finale i willl not be able to talk with my brother about wierd feeling. thanks spud for putting ut so many interesting and sometimes very autistic storys
Boltun wasn't really able to use his numerical superiority on any of the fronts. I wonder why he didn't keep putting troops up in Siberia? Sure, its useless land to occupy, but that's where his numerical advantage would always give him the ability to outflank wherever the coalition's line ended. And if he occupied Siberia it'd be a good route to funnel troops from the core back down around to Central Asia - especially since his second biggest disadvantage were the deserts of Xinjiang that form a huge bottleneck for transporting troops, while attritioning them on top of that.
China and Spain, incredible runs! Thanks for another campaign Spud. Personally, I’m dreaming of a DM campaign next! With a competent Scandi and accepting both French & English.
Very much shot himself in the foot when he made the rooster. He probably expected some more moves from Spudgun but the inital War crippled Japan and forced Spud to essentially accept the status quo hug box of Asia. Bolton's light cheating and superior experience compared to the other China player made the whole region a forgone conclusion.
Crazy how Japan is like the most boring strong tag, this is what, your third or fourth real war? Would be interesting to see you play an Ethiopia campaign.
@@SpudgunOfficial there's nothing more true for a spud series than that you will find some way to make the ottomans constantly go to war with you so i have faith
Great series as always super fun watch! That being said, you probably shouldn't allow player hosts in the future, there was some really blatant host tyranny in this series. Nevertheless, was still very funny.
This is a really good emotional payoff for a more low-key series, did a good job of tying up every loose-end in your own story I would only critique the length of the mid-story, there were good character moments in there, and at the same time long stretches where everything was fuzzy because you weren't in the heat of the action. Even with the ""boring"" bits, it was a solid experience, and your editing gets better and better.
Thought i'd miss one didn't you? "Wielding his blood sword, A hero who fights with pride, and slays with honor. He is a brave soul, Drawing blood only for peace, Never for Vengence. Even if he falls, In the midst of battle, His name lives on." The Poet

Very strange that Spudgun acknowledges it in the way that he does. Just an off-handed remark at the end of a sentence dedicated to thanking those who played. Hardly even 10 words. idk, i'm sure he didn't know the guy very well, but idk he could have at least dedicated an entire sentence to it over a black screen- literally *anything*
