Berta was like a mother to Charlie..at least,she truly cared and was ALWAYS honest...even blunt...to him...But she had a huge influence on Charlie....

I never understood how Charlie was the only one to see just how insane Rose was. It's not like she actually hid it. I'm not even sure there's a single diagnosis there; she's like a walking, talking example of the DSM.
It is not that Charlie was the only one who saw how insane she was. But 99% of the time, he was the only one who had to put up with it.
Perhaps he actually took the opportunity to observe Rose, talk with and listen to her, since he wasn’t busy trying to get her into the sack. By actually listening to her, he was able to pick up some of the clues that she was a bit of a psycho. As a rule, Charlie didn’t really listen to anyone he considered boring (this included Alan and most of the women he “dated” who wanted actual relationships). It says something about Charlie that he finds Rose interesting. Jake, too.
I only just started watching the show this spring, so there are a lot of holes that need to be filled in. The shows don’t seem to be aired in order, like Everybody Loves Raymond or Mom. (I actually check the season/episode as I watch.) It’s one of the reasons I’m here.😉

How Two And A Half Men should've ended:
Rose and Charlie move to England together.
Alan gets the house, Melissa moves in, Berta reveals a contract she had Charlie sign (while drunk) when she first started working for him stating if Charlie ever died or left the country, Berta gets his master bedroom. So Alan and Melissa sleep in Alan's room.
Jake gets a job as a dishwasher at a fancy restaurant. Evelyn got him the job since the owner is a friend of hers. Jake loves it because "You wouldn't believe the awesome food rich people just throw out!"
Alan doesn't have to pay allimony or child support any longer.
Judith delivers her 2nd child and divorces Herb, who is now forced to pay child support. He moves in with Alan, Melissa, and Berta.
Alan would never get that beach house

This is this is one of the dumber stories of the show. Rose has never been anything but a complete psycho and everyone knows it until this moment. When they started hounding Charlie to go after her, I tuned out.
