They asked Steven to do a song for the movie Armageddon. He only agreed after seeing the scene where his daughter was putting her hand on the monitor after talking to her dad in the movie.
My wife Charlette, used to say this was her song to me. When she passed away in 2016 I had them play this at funeral. We were together almost 30 years. This is still very hard for me to listen to but I did. Thanks for the reaction. It was Aerosmith's only #1 hit song.
I'm sorry for your loss. This song must be both a joy and a source of pain for you. On a side note, "Walk this way" featuring Aerosmith and Run DMC also hit #1
I can't imagine how emotional this must be for you. Thank you for sharing that moment of your life with us, and what the song represent for you. So sad, yet beautiful. Much love from Sweden
Steven's daughter, Liv Tyler, wanted him to do the main song of the movie, she was in. "Armageddon" He did not want to because it might hurt their "Rock" reputation. It turned out to be the biggest hit Aerosmith had their entire career.
Aerosmith "Love in an elevator" or "Dude Looks Like a Lady". This song was recorded for the soundtrack for the movie Armageddon, starring Liv Tyler, Steven Tyler's daughter
"Dude Looks Like a Lady". backstory... While imbibing a few drinks, Tyler said, the band spotted what they thought was an attractive girl with teased, bleach-blonde hair. When the girl eventually turned around, they realized that it wasn’t a girl at all-it was Vince Neil from Motley Crue, who did indeed have a pretty luscious mane of hair. “That dude looks like a lady,”

The woman at the end is Steven Tyler's daughter. She is in the movie Armageddon, which this song was written for. In the movie, she is looking at Bruce Willis, who plays her dad in the movie. For the music video, they put her actual dad, Steven Tyler, on the monitor.
This is from the movie Armageddon. The woman/actress is Liv Tyler who starred in the film and is the real life daughter of Steven Tyler. This gives the video some next level feels…knowledge is power❣️
The movie is called Armageddon. It's about an end of day asteroid situation. The girl in the vid is Liv Tyler, his daughter.... You'll note Ben Affleck and Bruce Willis in there. This movie was great and the song even better! :)
True, Diane Warren who wrote this has had 12 Oscar nominated songs and not yet won with any of them, despite many, including this one, having stood the test of time far better than the songs that beat them. In 1996 she wrote 'Because you loved me' sung by Celine Dion, in 1997 she wrote 'How do I live' sung by Leanne Rimes (which lost to Celine Dion singing My heart will go on) and in 1998 she wrote this, which lost to 'When you Believe' from the The Prince of Egypt. No I don't remember it either I had to look it up.
The crazy thing about this song compared to Dream On, this song is sung by someone with 30 years more life experience than the guy who sang Dream On. Emotional content is through the roof the older Steven Tyler blows the young man away.
Love this song! I saw someone suggested, “Janie’s Got A Gun” by Aerosmith. That is an incredible song about a young girl being abused by her father. Steven Tyler read an article about gunshot wounds, child abuse and incest and wanted to write this song. He went on to open a shelter for abused and neglected girls, in Memphis, TN and called it Janie’s House after the song.
There was a big story behind them writing this song for that movie. I don’t remember what it was about . I know about the time of the movie everyone was confused about how she got so pretty.
This is from 1998, you're familiar with Dream On which is 70's. Now try some of thier 80's songs. Dude(Looks like a Lady), Love in an Elevator, Rag Doll. or Janie's Got a Gun
Very new to your channel.. Love what I'm seeing.. and as a Mom of an almost 40&35 year old... I've seen Aerosmith so many many times in concert since early 70's. Did you know Steven Tyler met Joe Perry in my home state of New Hampshire. Joe was a cook and Steven liked the fries he got that Joe made and went to compliment Joe and they started talking about Joe being able to play guitar and I was told that's how they started the band in Massachusetts called Aerosmith. I don't know if you knew this but the song was sang by Aerosmith for the movie Armageddon with Steven Tyler's daughter Liz Tyler being in the movie. I so love Aerosmith and did belonged to their fan club for a while.
My wife went to an Aerosmith concert the week before we found out she was pregnant with our first baby (August 2001). We paid an ungodly amount of money to get seats in the front row because she wanted him to sweat on her.....
Steven Tyler is definitely not southern. Haha. He's actually from My hometown of Boston MA. He has a house a couple towns over from me in Marshfield, MA. When He's "home", he's just a regular guy. You can spot him at the supermarket, a local fair/carnival, coffee shop etc...He's always very approachable, and happy to chat, sign an autograph, pose for a pic. Just a really down to earth nice guy. Especially for a legendary Rockstar. I've met him out and about a few times. 🤘😃

He is so nice. He was at The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame years ago when I was there years ago. nervously went up to him and he talked to me for the longest time until his handlers made him leave. Hugged me too. He was sweet

His moniker is “The Demon of Screamin’” 🎤at age 73 he is still belting it out with his same fashion flair and black painted nails but now he has people who call him grandpa. Huge props to these guys for being together for over 5 decades🎵🎶🎸

This song was so overplayed for a while there that I haven't listened to it in a good solid like 15 or more years, but you two brought me back to it. Because when I hear it again I remember how f****** amazing Stevens vocal is in it and how beautifully the music is arranged behind him and I'm totally down to put it back on the list. So thank you for that!
I have enormous respect for Steve Tyler. He had a short-term relationship with Bebe Buell, a model. At the time, she was on a break from her long-term liaison with rocker Todd Rundgren. Buell knew Tyler was in the thick of his addiction to heroin. She never told him she was pregnant with his child, since she felt she had to protect her child from that lifestyle. When their daughter, Liv, was 10 or 11, she saw a promotional poster for Aerosmith-and she asked her mom if Tyler was her father. By this point, Steve Tyler had been clean from drugs for several years. Liv noticed how much she resembles Steve Tyler. Her mom admitted to Liv that Steven is her dad. Liv and Steve met-he acknowledged his paternity of her-and they are now very, very close. He stepped up as a parent and made a financial settlement on Buell for child support since Liv’s birth. He now helps to manage her acting career. (She’s had starring roles in movies, including “The Lord of The Rings” movies). Liv changed her last name to Tyler. Liv now has kids of her own, and Steven is a fully involved grandfather. He has other kids, but Liv is his oldest child. He CHOSE to step up as her dad, which makes me admire him greatly. A couple of times, he’s fallen off the wagon (with drugs and alcohol-which are hard to stay sober from). Liv has stood by him when he’s returned to rehab, and has been there for him (as a daughter would). Mad respect. Mad mad MAD RESPECT.
I love the passion you guys have for good music! So many just hear a song and take it at face value - but you truly appreciate the music and the voices - don't stop!!!!
Steven Tyler was my first rock crush. His voice, his look. Just every thing. I was 12 when i first discovered Aerosmith. I'm in my 40's now and I love them as much now as ever! Theres so many great Aerosmith songs to react to.💜
I love that moment that yall looked at each other during the first verse. Sooo sweet. I also love love love the reaction to the scream. Especially the tripple take !!!!
Love this song. His range is incredible. Some of Aerosmith's hits include Walk This Way and Sweet Emotion. But Back in The Saddle has the iconic Steven Tyler scream.
His song Amazing is a heart wrencher. It's about how h.amd a very close friend go back and forth fighting heroin addiction. It's low key one of their best
She's Gone as well. Both will give you chills. I'll Never Let You Go has me firmly convinced The Matrix stole the epic backbends from lead singer Miljenko Matijevic.
For Amber, looking for another Aerosmith love song, try "Angel". Also, you should check out the historic cover/collaboration with Run DMC doing "Walk This Way", which was originally a hit for Aerosmith in the 70's.
Watch Armageddon and you will hear the song and it will have even more meaning in the story!!! His daughter is in the movie! Love your reactions so much!! As far as your kids they will be grown in the blink of an eye. Enjoy every moment you have with them. I tell young parents now to keep a journal of everyday things that go on, it may seem insignificant but write it down. Those little things are so important. One thing that upsets me with my daughter, who is 48 now, I can't remember the last time I picked her up and held her. If I had kept a journal, I might have that moment written down.
Now you'll have to react to the movie to this song. It's the soundtrack to Armageddon, which stars Bruce Willis, Ben Affleck, Owen Wilson, Liv Tyler( Steven Tyler) daughter. She was in the video crying watching Steven sing on the tv. Amazing g cast and the film is an amazing classic from the early 2000s. I have watched it a million times already
The young beautiful girl is Liv Tyler, Stevens daughter. From the movie Armageddon
I was just going to write that. 😊
Liv is also in Aerosmith's "Crazy" video alongside Alicia Silverstone
Liv Tyler was also a beautiful Elf in Lotr

5 decades.....70s 80s 90s 00s and last album was was what 2016 and now they are on their farewell tour now...fuck you talking bout
While that’s true and they started in the 70’s, the 90’s were definitely their biggest decade.

Aerosmith rocks!!!!! This song is amazing!! Hello from Brazil!
TYLER IS A LEGEND
I love the passion you guys have for good music! So many just hear a song and take it at face value - but you truly appreciate the music and the voices - don't stop!!!!
Steven Tyler is the real deal…..
Steven Tyler..absolutely one of the best rock vocal and performer of all time..
Never do I listen to this emotional song, do I not have chills. I positively Love Steven Taylor's unique and powerful voice. ❤️
Steven Tyler was my first rock crush. His voice, his look. Just every thing. I was 12 when i first discovered Aerosmith. I'm in my 40's now and I love them as much now as ever! Theres so many great Aerosmith songs to react to.💜
I'm 59 and you better get in line cuz Steven Tyler is my one true soulmate!
@@SheynaVVV I think we're both too old for him now. Lol. His girlfriends in her 30's
They have decades of hits!
One my band plays is, Adam's Apple.
Steve Tyler wrote this song for his daughter Liv Tyler, who plays the main girl in the movie Armageddon.
Diane Warren wrote it not Steven Tyler
I was also going to point that Diane Warren wrote this but you beat me too it. It was the first #1 song ever for Areosmith. And, they didn:t write it.
Love Amber’s reactions to this epic song! Armageddon was a good movie.
They're so good. My favorite of their songs are Cryin', What it Takes, Crazy, Amazing, Livin' on the Edge.
"What it Takes" is another good ballad similar to this one.
I love that moment that yall looked at each other during the first verse. Sooo sweet. I also love love love the reaction to the scream. Especially the tripple take !!!!
I also think Amber had an EARGASM at7:21
Steven Tyler has only gotten better with age!!! What a talented man!!
"The sweetest dreams will never do"....maybe the best line in this song.
Sending my love to you all. This love is just a love song to the max and touches my heart.
This song feels like you feel for your first love. You wanna howl and scream like steven. 🤗
Steven Tyler said that his daughter was the total inspiration for this song.
Love this song. His range is incredible. Some of Aerosmith's hits include Walk This Way and Sweet Emotion. But Back in The Saddle has the iconic Steven Tyler scream.
Steve is so unique n powerful with voice n tenor..
His song Amazing is a heart wrencher. It's about how h.amd a very close friend go back and forth fighting heroin addiction. It's low key one of their best
Steelheart " I'll never let you go " official video. Amazing male voice.
She's Gone as well. Both will give you chills. I'll Never Let You Go has me firmly convinced The Matrix stole the epic backbends from lead singer Miljenko Matijevic.
“Think it’s a movie”!?!?! 😲
Armageddon!! Definitely needs to be one of the first movie reactions you guys do.
ABSOLUTELY!! Will make this song make so much sense.
For Amber, looking for another Aerosmith love song, try "Angel". Also, you should check out the historic cover/collaboration with Run DMC doing "Walk This Way", which was originally a hit for Aerosmith in the 70's.
Yes. Definitely angel.
@@rustyreese4006 LOVE ANGEL
Love ambers reaction to his scream! Priceless!😎😎😎😎😎👍👍
so blessed that I saw Aeorsmith in concert 3 times in the 90's.... blew me away every time... yes it was a movie... Armegeddon
(sp) ?
Stevens’ daughter Liv Tyler is the main character in this movie…
How fabulous is his voice for the movie…
The best part of this song imo is the upper harmonies. The one leading into the scream at the climax is so good from a vocal perspective, love that.
Btw Cryin and Amazin are elite Aerosmith songs if you want more if you haven’t done them yet.
Steven Tyler is a god. More Aerosmith!
It was so cool that this song was written for the movie "Armageddon" and Steven Tyler's daughter, Liv had a major role in it as well.
That song right thereeeee....definitely one of my all time faves...loveeee it.
His scream is so iconic that Steven Tyler's nickname in rock circles is literally "The Screamin' Demon".
LOL don't forget, he was also one half of the "Toxic Twins" with Joe Perry. :P
Actually it’s “ the demon of screamin’” 😉. Love him! I recommend “sweet emotion”.
Rob: "That scream!!"
Roger Daltrey( The Who) : "Hold my beer!"
Roger Daltrey would be holding Ian Gillan's beer
@@rambleshanks who would then need to hold Robert Plant’s beer. i m o
Love this, any song that can send a shiver up my spine and make me tingle has my undying admiration….
This has always been my favorite song. This is gonna be my wedding song
You should hear "Walk This Way"... the original Aerosmith version.
You two are so much fun to watch and I’m enjoying your music journey!
A song you two may really enjoy is “Like a Prayer” - Madonna 🥰
Love this song. Chills. You too are great.
"what it takes". such great vocals
