Great informative video 😊 spoken clear concise smooth voice 😊making the video a story book . APPRECIATE .
What a great bit of history about the underground
Its been around more than 150 years and has gone many changes
Its gone into many country/urbany areas
I can only assume that is why London has got as big as it has
I think the amount of people that use the underground increases on a daily basis and car use increase and the cost of getting into London get ever more expensive
This film was a great bit of nostalgia, glad to se so0meone has taken the time to preserve it (as they said for posterity)
Thanks for posting this most interesting video.
Many thanks to Jayne for posting this amazing documentary. 😊😊😊

Thiis is a priceless collection of archive film. Many thanks!
Thank you for uploading this historic document
Loved this! So nice to see the old stock, stations and old ways of working!
Great vid! @47:xx I kind of think the comentator skated over the Drayton Park transfers going via KX and the widened lines - it was the chance to see the extraordinary sight of diminutive tube stock rubbing shoulders with huge mainline locomotives as they sneaked through KX main line and out via gas works/copenhagen tunnels. The reverse move took the tube stock through York Road, both directions squealing their way through the tortuous "KX Suburban" tunnels under the mainline station to pick up the widenend lines just west of what is now the KX Thameslink station. How I would love to have seen that! Great to see the cross-overs at Farringdon in use.
I remember doing this run when I was about 11 years old in 1961-1962 and it is available to read in my Amazon book called Travelogue - London and the South East by Donald Hedges
Magic! Great video. I'm here for the Q38 and CO/CP stock.
Pure gold rare fooage
Looks like Wally Ackerman on the platform at Stanmore at 11:03.
Okay, I've got my rose-coloured spectacles on ... but doesn't London look cleaner and more civilsed in this old colour footage? 🚂👍
Absolutely shocked that train accident to fall out of line on the track!!:😮
It looks like it overran the end of a siding. There was a half unit movement shown, which was probably the section of the other end of the train that had the problem, being shunted back to the depot.
@@trevorelliston1Wow... Oh my god, how such thing to see the sight entire this in my life!.... 😧 Well, what is expected of filming in the history of London Public Transport by U derground services isn't. Pretty excited about this video thought. :)
