- Thought it was about time to get into this compilation business again, though I doubt I'll do any more past this video. THX is so weirdly important to my life, how I grew up, how it went from a nightly fear to the tamest, nerdiest, coolest piece of media I can think of. Plenty of trailer history videos exist already, but that shouldn't mean I can't make my own. A lot of them forget some trailers, so I wanted to make sure to include them, as well as whatever else I could find around the internet that wasn't fanmade. Hopefully I got everything, I'm sure there's some minor variation or obscure reference I missed, but I hope y'all enjoy the video anyways, this took way longer to put out there than it should've.

Stay cool guys, and have a great rest of your day! :D Кино
WTF?!? i haven't know the THX Deep Note was on a NFL game!
One slight correction.
The T2 trailer was also used in some Blu-Ray releases of Terminator 2: Judgement Day, just updated.
You’ve covered a whole lot of THX stuff unlike anybody ever could for their compilations. Thanks for sharing this video, man! I enjoyed it!
I really like how this cool sonic 4 person is responsible for this video
47:15 I love that Tiny Toons clip. I was laughing so hard when I first watched it.
It's stupid and it doesn't even sound like THX
I'm glad I'm not alone showing admiration for those demo and intros, I have about 1.5TB of those on my hard drive.
An unexpected surprise, but a welcome one.
No it's "it's a surprise to be sure, but a welcome one." 💀💀
1:29 “the audience is listening?” More like “the audience is so scared shitless that they don’t even wanna watch the movie”
Or “The Audience Is Now Deaf”
(47:33)
I remember I used to be scared of the “amazing life variant”.
I had a clone wars dvd,
Also, I could only imagine how long the code took to write, both back in the 80’s and 2015..
Ps, I find it neat that the helicopter in the “genesis” trailer has the same sound as the deep note, they probably put a tremolo on it and mixed it with a helicopter noise. Didn’t know about the score sheet being there..
The soul caliber Ⅲ/matrix path of neo one is my personal favorite.
Btw, smosh used to use it back in their newgrounds days.
The THX logo trailers, ESPECIALLY the earlier ones, gave me MANY nightmares as a child, and unfortunately, it STILL does, even to this day. There's just something so... unsettling about this logo, and I don't like it... 😬😥😰😓
Me neither, I absolutely detest it
42:58 This Section Should Be Called "The Oddball Logos That Didn't Fit In"
Now I know more about the company and trailer history
I'm surprised you didn't include the "Tex Vs The Robot" or "Lincoln Car" trailers.
I heard Dr Dre got sued for a cover of the Deep Note
Yeah, but that was back in 1999
Funny story:
I was around five years old and my mom put in Cars for DVD and as soon as she pressed play i heard the thx logo and started hiding and crying. I also used to watch monsters inc on VHS at night a lot so after the for the birds short i would brace myself, covering my ears and me eyes until my parents muted it. I also had a dream where tex took me into the tv and was being mean, he also had a wife and dog for some reason XD and then he took me back into the real world with cereal lol
I wish the Wayne’s World 2 trailer with THX was included
I see Broadway DVD on my Home On The Range (2004) DVD
The high pitched Deep Note played at the 2005 Monster Jam and at the 2011 Snake River Stampede at the Idaho Center arena (funny enough that we never had any THX theaters in the Boise area).
I wish you included the Deep Note Challenge logos, as well as the other, unfinished Simpsons parody in which Homer kills Tex
Oh wow, did not expect you to do something like this. lol
AYOOOOO LET'S GOOOO
Well never thought I get to see that logo again, ever since I was a kid! Me, Bentely, and Sly still had to cover our ears to the loud noise though..
You should do more logo history videos.
There's even lost thx trailers and bonus
"Where Am I, And What's That Sound?"
THX during it's time as a independent was bought by Creative Labs untill Razer bought them
A nice callback.
A few of the fanmade ones were kinda stupid, but other than that this was a pretty good video
Edit:are the French ones on here? And I think there was also a Japanese one floating around on RUclips somewhere too
admittedly I rushed this video out, so I ended up forgetting some trailers, including the French ones. never heard of any Japanese trailers, but I've seen Broadway translated into different languages, I just have no idea if they're official
@@Turret3471 yes, there's a version of one of them in Spanish, I'm not sure if it's Broadway or not, and the Japanese one I'm referring to is a version of Broadway
Last time I saw the Japanese variant was in this logo History video: ruclips.net/video/o-cigL2HWcw/видео.html
50:29 this is cursed
ooh interesting
I was afraid they wouldn't address the elephant in the room regarding the name of the logo... Kinda. THX-1138 is actually the name of George Lucas' very first sci-movie he's ever made starring Robert Duvall.

Why do I hear this weird noise in my right earbud at the beginning of this logo? When I put on my wireless Bluetooth earbuds and I watch this video, I hear some weird noises on my right earbud. Why is this the case?
I’m not sure, I tried listening on my headphones and I couldn’t hear anything, but I still need to try it out with the other headphones and earbuds I own to see if there’s some frequency the ones I usually use aren’t producing. I’ll get back to you when I find time to figure it out.
@@Turret3471 ok then.
It seems you actually forgot a couple trailers
The first being “Tex vs The Robot” (also a demo for THX Spatial Audio) and the second being the one used for THX-certified Lincoln cars
He also missed the three French trailers,a Mexican Spanish translated one, and a Japanese one
Question, why didn't you like the THX Broadway 2000 trailer?
mainly it's because of all the new stuff they added on top of the deep note, which I'm pretty sure got fixed later on, some of the later trailers bring the volume down on the new synths and provide a better mix overall. but the other part is how simple it looks, seems like it could be made in an old version of Sony Vegas in an hour or two, it's super short, and it doesn't feel as professional as everything else they were doing at the time. and with the absence of a blue rectangle, it all kinda adds up to being unworthy of the "Broadway" title, in my eyes.
THX Is Founded In 1983!
Which dvd has the remaster broadway
Probably multiple. I know some of the Star Wars Blurays released around that time used it, but I’m not that knowledgeable on every single movie release that are THX certified. I’m sure there’s some websites out there that lists everything
I'd check the CLG wiki (now called AVID)

Turrent 3471, is it the Broadway 2000 trailer or the Terminator 2 trailer you hate?
Broadway 2000
tho I do also hate the BluRay version of T2 which is why it never appeared in this video. it's higher definition, sure, but the logo replacement looks so lazy and out of place
I've never seen the Blu-ray one of T2, only the original one.

THX 1983 the bite of 83
I know you from scratch turret
What is that too mature trailer called
Surprisingly, it doesn't have a distinct name, just points out that it's a contest entry. It focused way more on these base female models moving in certain ways, which fell under the contest's rule against sexual content. Checking out the rest of the videos will also help you understand why their trailer was... the way that it was...
@@Turret3471 is there a way to watch it?
