Komunizam ima mnogo mana ali u poređenju sa neoliberalnim kapitalizmom danas izgleda kao dečja igra. Nisam pomenuo da smo u periodu tog komunizma bili od svih priznati kao regionalna sila, nešto slično Španiji ili Turskoj. A danas smo svi đuture kolonija što opet u komunizmu nismo bili.

Bregović, a Serbo-Croat from Bosnia, just stole and re-arranged the lyrics. The song has nothing to do with the observance of the Serbian Orthodox celebration of St George or "Đurđevdan". That's how Bregović renamed it when he FRIST STOLE IT WITHOUT ASKING ITS AUTHOR FOR PERMISSION.

It's actually a song of the gypsies from Northern Macedonia, entirely sung in the Roma language. Bregović briefly "borrowed" it and is only to be credited for the song becoming popular. He did several versions of the song, in Serbian, Polish and even Greek language.
"Tou Ai Giorgi" ("Saint George's", Greek: "Του Αη Γιώργη") with Greek singer Alkistis Protopsalti,
even though the song celebrates the return of the spring "Ederlezi" in Roma language, and not St George.

The song originated on Djurdjevdan in wagons full of Serbs and Gypsies sent by fascists on their way to camps. The song is about the feast, the celebration of St. George, and the distance of the inmates from their family on that day.
