Tom Meents signed my Traxxas MaxD at MetLife stadium 2012 during the party in the pits. That made my day, i was a super fan of him since monster jam became a thing in 1999. He happily signed my RC truck and held me up with my dad for a picture. I remember my 13 year old self asking him about that times show “are you gonna go big?”
He simply replied “you go big or go home! I always choose to give it my all for fans like you!”
I was at that show! One of the best days of my life as a 10 year old. Still remember the double backflip attempt.

Tom was the first approachable driver in the "game", he seemed to care more about the fans and if you ask me, saved the circuit from becoming another GD Pepsi commercial. Thanks for keeping it real Tom, respect!

It's really cool how no matter how famous or how big Tom has gotten, he's still extremely nice to the fans. He's not only the best but he's also a really great guy!!!

Fun Fact: Tom was originally gonna debut Maximum Destruction in 2002 but canceled due to September 11 2001 attacks.

When I was 14 it was 1999. Grave digger was always my favorite,but you had to have respect for Tom. He was always competitive, always drove hard. When he got away from the WCW sponsors and the truck became Max D, that's when I realized he was a true force in the sport

It's amazing to see where some of the most famous people in the sport start. It always seems like the best people come from nothing and have to start from scratch and really work hard to work their way up. Tom is one of the best guys ever and finally got his autograph in Detroit 2019. So personable and will spend time to talk with anyone. Great guy!
I got an autograph from him in 2004, and on his 10th annivesary I got it again right next to the old one.

My discovery of Tom starting off in Mud Bogging was through watching the compilation tape Monster Truck Bloopers (I forget which one.) They showed a clip of him bogging and they mentioned his name, I said to myself "Wait, Tom WHO?!"
This is even before the started using the internet in a more serious manner.
When denis began he was in Edmonton alberta Canada. There was big foot and grave digger left on the field as it wrapped up. With my tinybtwins we were standing where the trucks came in and left. Denis pulled up and stopped right below us and he climbed out and up over the rail and picked up the kids and sat and talked to us. Greatest man in the hystory of monster trucks. HI 5 denis.

I always thought I would never have a shot because of how differently I’ve grown up from these guys. Come to realize I’ve grown up exactly like Tom Meents more or less. Less wrenching as a kid. But definitely loved racing and off-roading and played football lol. I’ve always been a Digger fan, but damn if I’m not inspired. If I can take myself to this level with my truck, I’d be the happiest guy on the planet
Tom Meents is retiring in 2024. An era of Monster Jam will soon come a close.

48:13 what Dennis said back in 2004 and here we are now in 2020, Dennis is retired, and his kids are now driving and going insane on the track and Meents is still going strong.
This is like a real life version of the Biff Tannon documentary in Back to the Future II, only he’s not the villain. It’s nice to see a W for the hard-working “little guy” in the world. He set a goal and then he went out and absolutely crushed it.
Tom has long past guys like Dennis Anderson, Gary Porter, Gene Patterson, Dan Runte, Fred Schafer, Andy Brass, and many others over the years to be the best. And the sacrifices and struggles he went through and dedication he put in is respectable. A ton of respect to Tom “The GOAT” Meents

I met Tom meets when I was a kid. Now I see why he let me help his men lift a monster truck tore into the truck. He loved monster trucks when he was a kid!

To:Dennis Anderson and,Tom Meents you both are,Awesome Monster Truck drivet's Dennis Anderson I saw you and,the Grave Digger in 1988 when I was a,freshman in Highschool when I graduated HighSchool 30 years ago of last year I took my nephew to a,Monster Truck show at,the Las Cruse's State Fair geound's it was, so Awesome of me taking my nephew to go see those Awesome Monster's and, than in 2004 I took my wife and, my daughter to go see Grave Digger at,the Prescott Valley Fair ground's so my daughter will ask me daddy when are,we going to go see Grave Digger again I keep telling her I don't know but Grave Digger is her favorite Monster Truck

Honestly this is the best thing I've ever seen and I'm speechless after knowing the work he put into hir career and I want to be either a marine biologist or a professional monster truck driver but I cant deside because I feel like a marine biologist would be a bit boring but a monster truck driver would be a complete waste of my knowledge but I think we can all agree tom meents when you see him go out on the track he will not stop that truck till its completely wrecked.

Great job meents proud of you for all you have ever done you made it man I tryed to make it in ump modified racing on dirt tracks but I ran into a bad problem with me getting into a bad roll over and broke my neck in three places and then my wife took my helmet into the hospital with me and they seen my helmet was cracked in five places so they did a MRI and a CT scan of my brain and found out that I have MS I tryed to keep racing but the MS took me doing now I’m in a power chair now so my new hobby is RC racing with off road trucks and cars and racing the Oval track with my RC car I built it’s just like my old ump modified I rolled over lol but I love it to death hats off to you brother good job
How are you holding up?? I bought a couple rc trucks to play with 2 ofna titan's and one ofna titan twin!! I wish there was someone who was into them in my town but that's one of the problems of living in a small town! I am almost in a chair full-time but not yet!!! I can still walk short distances and stand for short periods of time from a back injury at work then a bad dr did the rest.....from Wyoming USA 🔫🤠🇺🇸
